Lynch Mel

This is a self preservation lynch, cause I assume it is going to come down to me or Mel today, and I know I am not a wolf. I have resisted lynching Mel till now cause although I think their play is way off, i just can’t accept a wolf would play like that, Still, maybe where there is smoke there is fire, and again I am not a wolf.

For the record, I am flying down to Naples Florida and back with a student today and Thursday. I will be 100% unavailable 95% of the time so do not expect me to respond. I may have a couple of minutes during a refueling in SC arround 1 or 2, Or I may not. I also may have a few minute before heading back around 7, but if there are any delays, fuggdaboutit,

Don’t lynch me, that, as usual, is just lazy, and doesn’t get you a wolf.

One last thing - I was wrong about the tie night...I was going to try for a tie again last night and then a comment someone made previously made me go back and read the rules. I thought a tie killed both the people tied and a chance it kills the person making the tie, but that is only true for the second time a tie occurs, so part of thinking (about if it ends up a tie) was flawed as it made the choice rng instead of lynching both people. Go back and read my posts and you can see how I was mistaken. My bad about that part, but about trying to force wolves to act still stands.

Didn't like the feeling I got when she was trying to dig me out of being lynched last night. Something felt unnatural in the way she just has "unsubstantiated" feelings that I'm village.
I went and checked the past few games she and I have played together, she's never taken a hard stance on me like this except for in pokemon redux when I pretty much outted a wolf D1/2

Also (and stick with me here) you know how we all have players we evaluate first because we can read them better, or we've been playing with them longer, see them as a bigger potential threat etc.?

I looked at the past games coffee and SAR have played together. They don't analyze each other. Like couldn't find a place where they took a hard stance on each other in the past 3 games they've played together. There's one game coffee tangentially mentions SAR while questioning something dubz did. In light of that I find it weird that SAR claimed so early to have a weird tone read on Coffee.

I need time to finish reading. I haven't gotten to the part where you all hate Mel yet. I only read the beginning and the end of this game thread haha.

Its why your name isn't up there as the #1. But switching off a no brainier wolf for ANYONE is just bad play. You don't know me very well I would assume but I don't have a lot of sympathy and empathy. You either play the right move (or at least seriously justify you playing your own move) or you are earning negative points in my mind.

You earned this suspicion from the start of the game and yesterday's round

Dina was and she got it right. Which is why a pre-emptive Mel vote makes no sense. It screams wolf to me. She earned her villager cred and can phone it in now. It's just such a reproducable pattern I've seen over and over again

I didn't necessarily switch because I wanted Mel's head. I wanted to see what people would do with a tie etc etc. but I'm also willing to analyze things and say I find it interesting they kept the people on Mel alive like they want a lynch going that direction or something

I thought zig was a wolf for the first few days, but now I’m pretty positive she’s village. Coffee claimed she was a seer and seered zig as wolf in an attempt to her zig lynched instead. Yes, wolves could do that too, but it seemed more w/v vs w/w interactions.

I'm not tunneling mel enough to feel comfortable with a bunch of contingency votes on him. It makes me nervous. The way sporty was talking in absolutes made me nervous.

I was thinking I'd either have to vote him or SOV today to figure out my life, but now he's not even voting SOV anymore so I'm not sure if I'll still get the same value from breaking either of their eggs.
 
Also I voted to contingency Lynch AM and she ended up dead. Next day Mel still tried to say I might be a wolf.

I find it interesting SAR was lynching MJ yesterday and he turned up dead. Not sure if coincidence or well orchestrated plan to try to put suspicion on the person going for the lynch
 
Ok. AM would probably hate me for this too. But as one of like two people who can ever read Mel correctly, I'm going to trust her read here for today. Dunno where Mel's SOV feels went but maybe they were both onto something.

I'm still wondering if its even worth teasing out the SOV/Coffee situation, but see my previous theory about coffee trying to get village cred from defending a veteran player that others had sympathy for.

Sporty - I think I'd be ready to go there considering my feelings up until now plus the fact that she was on a confirmed wolf, but switched to a counterwagon once she saw a viable one forming. The lack of forethought about how me flipping village would affect her reads also does not sit well because a villager should be thinking about that, a wolf doesn't have to.

Could also go skim based on some of the above reasons.

Well, since you asked so nicely, Dubz. This may be a longish post so perhaps I will try to break it up with some gif levity. Though that will probably just make people read me sketchy... Ah, **** it.

1. How in the hell does me saying "I can't read Mel for ****, but my gut feeling is village" a HARD stance? This is like, the most wishy washy stance you will ever see me take on someone. If I think someone is village, I will usually defend them to the death and call everyone on their lynch stupid and lazy. This is why I pocket so easily. I wasn't seeing much to the "wolfy Mel" claims today, but that is a weak af argument. I literally said I cannot read you. I was not expecting my weak ass feels to push anyone off your lynch, just that if you flipped village I could feel my gut justified. Especially when I apparently now get sketch points for not putting my feels on thread.

B. I really wish this game hadn't started the day before my OSCE. If I had been around, I would have articulated and pushed that Coffee lynch D1. But, me saying so won't get any of ya'll to believe me so this is likely a wasted breath argument.

😡. Check your facts before you come for me. Coffee and I don't usually read each other since that game where we were super close PM partners because we both (I believe) feel we could possibly easily pocket each other. Some of that is fading with time now. However, my D1 track record is pretty damn good based on tone analysis. I believe last game I played was an off game. However, if I remember correctly, the 3 games before that I caught a wolf out on D1 every time. Jboo in the game I hydraed with AM comes to mind. I know there have been others because I was super proud of myself but I don't have a memory like AM to just pull up examples for you. I have a pretty darn good track record of catching wolves d1 off of tone - it doesn't have to be someone I'm familiar with so I also think this argument is silly

Things of note that I have no idea how to categorize:

- I guess Dina really is afraid of waffles. She has voted early (almost, not d1) every day and has not changed her vote a single time.
- above also applies to grebes, though I know she was super busy. i imagine cray will be lynching mel until he is dead.
- sporty voted for coffee every day except d4, but on d3 and d5 (aka the days where it would have mattered) switched to cheez. Could be wolfy, could also be that frustrating thing that i have done myself when villaging.

And this is just a side note to @Animal Midwife, remind me never to listen to you on D1, seems to be the only day it consistently works out poorly for me 😛

Possible. But conflict can be helpful if the parties involved are smart.

Also I am interested in what Doc brought up about Dina. I need to look into that since I think yesterday I was moving people around in categories and almost forgot she was playing.
 
I am willing to believe AM was killed because she would defend Mel and I have been kept alive because I keep going for Mel but at the same time, I don't want to make it to end game with Mel... and they aren't going to kill him. So not sure what to do :caution:

It's feels. But it just plays so wolf to me. The quiet, just place a vote, move on sort of be under the radar sort of move. If she cared about who she was lynching then the moves shes making (who she is prematurely deciding to lynch) make no sense. It just feels like a wolf who doesn't care who she picks as long as she looms like she is taking part in the game.

I guess in the end just call it experience and suspicion. Similar suspicions for somewhat different reasons with ziggy
