Nor'east Ski WWeekend (Basics) - Game Thread

@StartingoverVet and to think I'm the reason you weren't lynched by a wolf-led wagon d3. For shame.
On the chance this was true is why I felt like not voting WZ. Seems easy to go back and look at this.

Also the feeling that DocE was so off about me in some attempt to pocket me, plus whatever was the thing between him & SOV, and currently trusting SOV due to tone and also tone in early game, plus he was first to voice strongly against Mel IIRC and we basically double teamed him.

So the friend (Dubz) and the enemy (DocE) of SOV (even if he doesn't agree, we're talking about in my eyes) is my friend and enemy accordingly and that's why I gut-voted as I did.

So this was what was going on in my frazzled brain minutes before deadline.

next time if you aren't caught up, and are village (which I am not counting on) just don't vote. for everyone's sake. seriously.

It is true. The only reason votes moved off of SOV on d3 was because I told them not to lynch him. Wolfy Mel was leading that lynch (had actually started it the day before).

Well I did on Mel and I was right.

I just explained my reasoning. Sure that's based off two pages but I guarantee it represents more post analysis than like 1/4 of the WW votes cast in our enclave.

As it was, my first move was to try to solidify a vote on the leading candidate to avoid wolfy plot waffles.

For actual reasons I changed. Maybe I'm not fully informed, maybe Dubz is the wolf and DocE an innocent.

But no, you can come in last minute and do good sometimes. Or legit try.

Admittedly if Doc is village I'm going to laugh a little because one of my most vivid memories of us both being village in a game was when I got lynched and got to choose someone else to take out with me and I chose him...and he was the seer, so as he died he told me I was bad at WW...which will always and forever be true.

Ahhh, Vacationland. Once you arrive in Maine, why would you ever leave? The skiers had experienced Maine's downhill offerings and had a blast, so now they set their sights on some true backcountry skiing.

Maine Huts and Trails is a non-profit network of 180 miles of wilderness trails connected by a series of huts. Outdoor enthusiasts can hike or ski the trails and stay at the cozy huts overnight. The flagship Poplar Hut, located at Poplar Stream Falls, features several heated bunkhouses, which accommodate between four and 12 people apiece, plus a central lodge with kitchen, rest rooms, dining room and common area. Breakfast and dinner (including craft beer selections!) are served to guests.

One guest was enjoying the Maine beer selections so much that he decided to stay for a while...although once he had tried all of the options at the hut, he skied back to the trailhead, tossed his gear in his car, and hopped a flight to that other mecca of après-ski craft beers: Colorado.

It's a myth if you're behind you can't play and vote and make choices.

For example, you can try to consolidate a vote on a lead candidate suspected by those you trust.

I was told when behind or subbing, just read from where you start, or even just read that day's stuff. Or even read the pages backward from current, which is what I did today. I got to like 1 pm and Skim's post on DocE. He appeared to be flip flopping and sly pocketing in a way I didn't like.

SOV I say I trust based on more than today's gameplay. He wanted WZ and DocE lynched. So I was gonna condolidate on WZ, but her defense and his behavior and SOV's opinion and Skim's post swayed me.

Dina I didn't know so I didn't go there.

Couple this with the fact that better than chance, much better in fact, you can spot a wolf based on EXACTLY one post totally out of game context.

I stand by me showing up and playing today. I don't love it since I'm so behind, but it's a legit effort.

oh **** wtf

Well. That was stressful to read after the fact

I don’t really think this is an appropriate thing to be stating, especially to cray, who tends to be quite a good player. Clearly the end result here proves there’s some utility to putting out a vote even if you haven’t caught up.

Whoops, you too.
Maybe.
Though I had kinda figured if Doc flipped wolf I was voting for you tomorrow because I, for some reason, had to convince him to lynch you instead of someone he wasn't even wolf reading. But I'll have to think on that one.

K i'll stop participating.

Well N3 and last night were the last times we were in Maine. I can't decide if it's safer to assume earlier or later. I think earlier? Maybe? Feck idk.

And that's all assuming my theory is correct, which, lol it totally could be bat****.

Night 8

Screen Shot 2019-02-06 at 12.26.13 AM.png

It was a dark and stormy night in the outskirts of Boston...

Waaaait a second, no it wasn't! It was 62º here today, for goodness' sake. The skiers grumped about the thawing conditions, because they had just decided to swing their trip southwards to hit up a tiny ski mountain in the suburbs of Worcester, MA named Wachusett Mountain, and south is not where you want to be heading when you're in search of more snow.

Wachusett is where Pippy learned to downhill ski as a child, and she grew up listening to their catchy jingle on the radio. This explains why she is both a terrible downhill skier and why she (and the rest of Massachusetts) can't hear the words "Wachusett Mountain" without singing
.
One skier was humming the jingle (waah-wah-wahh-waa..), all ready to try to teach her new fluffy orange cat to skijor the Wachusett slopes, but the warmer weather turned everything into a giant puddle of mud and dead grass. She pined away at the lost opportunity for nordic feline bonding experiences, and was consumed with sadness...
...and her cat...and a wolf? wtf?... consumed her dead body in solidarity.

Dead is @SportPonies , Wachusett - Vanillager

Death by goats...death by breakfast food...death by beer...death by being eaten by cats after trying to make them into outdoor adventure cats...

...my write ups are hitting closer and closer to home for me the longer this game continues. Or, in the words of the Wachusett commercial, "this is the real deal."

Lynch Dina

Getting the convert is a great result. Makes life easier IMO.

If Dina isn’t the wolf then tomorrow I will go,back to WZ assuming she tried to gain some cred by throwing espana under the bus, because I don’t think anyone else is a wolf. But that is a lower possibility than Dina.

I think based on voting, dina, cray, zig and I are all in the strong village category, which leaves sov and wz. I’m really not sure where to go with that one. I feel like sov would be more likely to convert docE though, so that is where I’ll vote for now.
