I'm not gonna lie, that mustache may have subconsciously influenced my desire to attend this school. 😀

Yeah, that video was super boring all the way up until I saw the Dean and his glorious moustache.
 
I hope this doesn't get any hopes up, but I know a lot of you are concerned about when you'll hear about decisions, especially the Dude. We are supposed to have an hour meeting with Dean Silvagni tomorrow, something we call "Dean's Hour." Basically what it is: an hour of him just talking with our class about anything and everything- concerns, frustrations, suggestions for improvements, etc. Soooo, long story short, if he is there tomorrow then he might be sitting down and approving some recent adcom decisions. I don't like rumors or gossip, I'm just making a conjecture that if he is there tomorrow, that he MIGHT be making some final decisions. IF he actually is there tomorrow, and IF he decides to look at the decisions and approve/deny them, then I have absolutely no idea when those decisions will be relayed to you guys. However, in my experience with Anastasia (the admissions counselor), they want to notify us as soon as possible.

Thus, take what I just said with a grain of salt. I haven't heard anything about our Dean's Hour being cancelled tomorrow, so I can only assume that we will be meeting with him tomorrow (meaning he will be at Nova tomorrow).

This concludes the PSA. Carry on.

Anastasia is on medical leave but Monica (her sub) seemed like she was really interested in getting everything moving. I talked to her quite a bit while I was there. Loved the school...hope it's mutual!

I'm always grateful for unsubstantiated "rumor mill" public service announcements! I don't know how many interviewees files they could get through. I know they have at least some, or probably all, of MedPR's group to get through and then mine, and I don't know if Anastasia has to be there to notify us (she said they'd email us as well as sending a snail mail official letter, right? That's what I remember them saying) but she's out until the 25th according to her voicemail, which I may have called multiple times in the past few days...

:smack: I don't know why I called it a PSO. I meant PSA... Anyways, I will let you guys know if he is there tomorrow. IF he is, then that COULD be a good sign that the ball MAY start rolling for the first few interview groups. One can only hope :xf: :xf:

I would hate for our first meeting to be one of passionate hatred with homicidal resolution, MedPR. Anyways, I put sooo many IFs in there, I think I covered my @$$ on that one. Like I said, I don't like rumors... but if we are actually having Dean's Hour tomorrow, it is POSSIBLE that he might find the time to sift through some of the interview decisions.

So, Disclaimer: I accept no responsibility for whatever goes/doesn't go down tomorrow.

Haha I never said that. I'll be able to tell in about 20 minutes whether the Dean is meeting with us today. I made no promises, hence the repeated attempts at skepticism and hypothetical rhetoric.

EDIT: The Dean is not here today. Sorry folks.

I was wondering if you guys might be able to help me out...

So I'm applying to this school and should be getting secondaries soon. I'm not currently able to get to my Undergraduate Pre-Health committee letter. They require 3 letters(?), one from a physician, one from a science professor, and one from a non-science professor. I've been away from all my science professors for about 3 years now (I graduated Undergrad in '09). I can get a letter for non-science (Head of the Public Health department where I'm doing my Master's at), but what do you think I should do about the Science letter?

Call your old science teachers. Most schools will require a science LOR.

Haha I'm sorry guys I was only hoping for your sakes that the Dean would be there so you guys can get the ball rolling. I think he is away at a conference or something like that. He's definitely a busy man.

As a token of my deepest and warmest apologies, I will buy you a brew of choice if you matriculate. I'll have to think of something else for The Dude, perhaps a copy of The Big Lebowski. 😀

Yet for 10 people were doing a pretty good job keeping this thread going. 25 pages and counting...
 
Well it took 1.5 months but NSU finally updated their files and I'm complete. waiting for word from the most local school...
 
Accepted!!!! Notified by email. All it said was see attached and the PDF felt like the longest download ever.

The interview on 9/11 also had about 25 people. Only 3 or so were from Florida.
