After hounding the admissions office for the past couple of days, I finally got a call saying that the admissions committee was reviewing my file while at that very moment...so after partying all weekend and telling literally everyone I know, I am actually not accepted 🙁 Hopefully I get accepted soon though. I am just surprised that I am the only one who was accidentally sent the acceptance email

Yikes, thats such a terrible situation! I am sorry to hear that. Never heard of this happening before. Hopefully, you will hear some good news soon.:xf:

Yes I am. I am not sure what to do either. I would be much happier at AZCOM. Thinking about not sending the Lecom deposit...

Congrats on achieving 100 posts on SDN. Seriously though, don't waste your life like me and get up into the 1K range, or even worse, like MedPR who is nearing 10K. Lol
So, are you feeling confident enough to forgo something sure (LECOM acceptance) for something arguably better but not so sure? I want to have the guts to do that...

Dude I can tell you that if Dec 14 comes and I havent been accepted to an MD I will be paying nova.

Well, I would never insult someone outright. Ok, I at least make a solid effort not to do so. Besides, this subtleinsult would be better labeled subtlejealousy. Sad as it is, I want a million posts. 😀

Edit:
Yeah, you really got to secure a place at a school for sure. No gambling when the stakes are this high. Besides, it's good money to bet on nova. Amirite?

No doubt nova is a solid school but I have quite a long list of schools ahead of it and $1250 is A LOT of money.

SDN app is the worst (best?) thing to happen for my post count.

No idea. I cut them some slack because the HPD is very large and thus their system can be a little buggy. After the second letter I was like "ok... message received." The third letter was just overkill.

I don't care anymore because I am here now and enjoying being in med school. Following being placed on the alternate list I wrote the admissions counselor once every two weeks then about once a week when it started getting closer. I think I wrote a pretty nice letter of intent, too.

What did you write them every two weeks? (just curious) Asking for updates?
 
Uhh is anyone having my issue? They called me and asked why I hadnt responded to an interview invite..said they sent an email back in August (I never received it- looked through ALL my files/folders..i was getting all correspondences from them prior)..and now they said they wont be sending out more emails til a few weeks and spots wont be available til January?? is that true? 🙁 did i lose a chance? uhhh this is really weird....and very frustrating,......

Sorry I'm just kind of butthurt that they kept saying they sent it (which is a possibility) but i never received it...and now i keep getting different responses by them. they said i would get a new email within 24hrs, then another said a week...GUH. January? really?

Should I just withdraw my application? january is late..and frankly, it seemed kind of unprofessional the way different people said different things. rather give up my spot for someone who really wants it..

My brain is fried. I just got excited about this email only to realize that I already knew I got accepted.

UMMMM, same thing EXACTLY happened to me...got the call yesterday and they said they would email me the link, then I called today and they said I would get it in a few weeks, no interviews til January

not sure what do to next...super bummed because I'd love to stay in Florida!!!

Also, when you DO get the email, you can just go in and check the scheduling website an unreasonable amount of times a day in hopes that a sooner date opens up. My friend was able to move his up a month to the same date as me to fly out with me for the interview. Hope is not lost!
 
i am applhying for this school got a 4.0 gpa strong servicce record work as a scribe in the ER, work at a homless clinic health clinic. I was a division one athlete, but do i have a shot with a 22, retook and got a 26 , now i just got my score today with a 24. I am a reapplicant..do i have any shot?
 
I'm sure you have a shot at many do schools... Nova seems to weigh the mcat pretty heavily, that doesn't work in your favor. Great GPA though, good luck.

Very soon, I hope. That means that my interview date (9/11) will hear back soon as well. I want to know so I can cancel some of these other schools that I can't afford to fly out for the interview.

Well I believe the admissions committee met yesterday or today, but I heard the dean isn't back to the school until the 20th. So depending on how hard the man likes to work, we may hear something on Friday.

Hearing Friday would make this a great weekend. Between Nova and Kansas City I feel like I have been living on this forum waiting to hear some insider news.

Really?? thats nuts!!! srsly...something screwy..i dont really want to call again for fear of looking like a freak, but i also emailed them about the situation.
 
also do you know who you spoke to about getting the link in a day? they said the same..i'd really love to have recorded who it was for proof.

Same thing happened to me... Admissions told me 6-8 weeks before more interview spots opened up. I asked if I was the only one this happened too. She responded, this has happened to quite a few people.

The funny part is, admissions told me just keep checking your email for when more interview spots open up. She didn't seem to understand that not receiving any email is what got me in this position in the first place. It looks like admissions soon be able recognize me by my voice in the next month.

Talk to monica sanchez. She's the admissions counselor right now and she is very helpful.
