Delurking to say I was accepted 11/04 (9/19 interview) -- Nova's my first choice!

Hey guys,
I went ahead and started a Facebook group, feel free to join so we can get to know one another and share any necessary information as needed. It's NSUCOM Class of 2018. 😀 Woo!

Mind posting the link? I can't seem to find it on fb :/

Secondary sent out at the end of August, received call from school on 08/26 for verification. I called back days ago and they said my application was still being reviewed! So long time!

Why do I have the feeling that I won't be getting an email today...

Now I'm slightly annoyed since I was told that I should receive a decision no later than Nov 8.
Yeah I definitely get that. I kind of anticipated this, but still, it's not as though they would accept a primary after the final due date. I don't particularly like that there is a double standard in the process. They should keep their promise to all of us who interviewed.

Any information would be great. Marian emails you for everything! Any change to your status, progress through the levels of verification/interview/decision etc are communicated immediately.

This is my personal opinion, but I would have second thoughts about Nova over another school at this point, if you are deciding between the two.

She's out of the office for a few days -_-. Oh well. Hopefully it will be worth the wait if it's an acceptance.

Are you referring to Linda?
I think there is someone filling in for Anastasia. Whoops I knew it was someone that started with an M. It's Monica Sanchez that is currently out for a few days.

Did she specify exactly when she'll be back?

Is it too late to apply? Already verified. 26 MCAT/3.4 cGPA/DO letter. Thanks!

Ugh i got an email saying I have missing documents which are my transcripts but no follow up email so far 🙁 im freaking out!!!

What?

Missing documents has nothing to do with your chances for acceptance. You just need to have a complete file.
I was looking over previous posts on this thread and those who got accepted all stated that they received the missing documents email, which just states that the physical transcripts need to be forwarded, before receiving their acceptance

Could be wrong though i may be wait listed , interviewed on 10/28 ahh the wait is killing me!

has anyone received the missing documents email and not been accepted?

YES! I received the missing documents email a day before my acceptance letter. Hang in there you might have just gotten accepted and they haven't gotten around to sending that confirmation email!

So it really is a "we'll telll you when we tell you" kind of deal huh? Interviewed on 10/24. No word and I don't even know when to expect anyword. Has anyone been informed on when we might find out or anything?!

oh no I called and they said they have mailed something to me and they wouldn't tell me what it was but it was mailed to my old college address! now i have to have it forwarded to my current address which could take foreverrr, ugh it might be a wait list letter 🙁 wish they would just email me!!

Well from my knowledge they will only ask you of your transcripts if you have been accepted. Otherwise, they would not request any information from you. I would say just relax and everything will be ok. Maybe they meant they emailed your old college email address?

I hope you are right brotha, I hope you are right. Im gonna call again in the morning but i really need to speak with an admissions counselor so they can tell me what the letter says otherwise I will have to wait like 15 days for it to be mailed to me from my college mailing address! crossing my fingers for an email soon though

I was accepted last week, and should I take the spot I will be moving with my wife and baby. Can any current students talk about the different housing options? I think being in student housing would be nice, and the documents I received say something about marriage housing but no details are given. I have a pet and I am curious if student housing allows pets. Basically my ideal housing would be in a safe place for my family, close to campus, and pet friendly. Comments please!

Hello, and congrats!

There are many apartments around campus. Since you will be bringing a pet, you will need to look for off-campus housing. Take a look through this off-campus guide: http://www.nova.edu/publications/offcampusguide/index.html

In a nutshell, traffic sucks in South Florida. It helps to live close to campus. Close is considered within a few miles. Anything more and you would need to be extra cautious about commuting, particularly on the morning of exams. You do not want to be a minute late for any exam. You would be SOL. There are several apartment complexes within a stone's throw of HPD (medical campus) that are considered off-campus. They are decent, potentially pricey for the value, but they do not have that great of security. The further you go from campus, the more likely you are to get more bang for your buck, although this of course varies from complex to complex. It would be preferable to live south of I-595 to avoid the morning CF, but there are certain roads that you may take to avoid the pre-interstate jams. There are numerous condos south of I-595 and west of university. They are fairly priced and still close to campus, but may or may not be gated (if that is important to you and your family).

Called Linda Ferris yesterday and no answer. Already emailed her that I interviewed on 9/19 and was told I would hear back with a decision no later than November 8. I recently got a email from AMSINFO about checking the status of my application. Hopefully that's a good sign that a decision is coming soon.

What's Linda ferris'a position? Is she heading up admissions? And what's the number?

I heard Linda Ferris was another admissions counselor when I called the office. But if you want to call and find out your admission status, call 877-640-0218

I received the same "you may access your outstanding application requirements" email yesterday am. I called today and spoke to Linda Ferris and she pretty much said I can disregard it.

I called a couple minutes ago and was told that my application was still being reviewed. Smh
