Hello everybody ... Again congrats to everybody that has been accepted!

I have a general question for anybody that may know...

Anybody know when second look happens? And what occurs during that day?
Are any accepted students (definitely attending nova) planning to go?

I have been accepted and I was wondering if second look might be a good time to go meet future classmates?

Thanks for any input 🙂

When are accepted students supposed to order white coats? And can we go to the bookstore and try them on first?

Is there any way to view my secondary app responses? I submitted it months ago and can't remember what was on it or what I wrote. Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I recall no questions...anyone else?

"How did you discovered osteopathic medicine?" I think was the question or something along those lines...very short paragraph response

and

I think was a description/list about paid/volunteer work experience

You should of gotten an email from nova days after submitting ur secondary n they send you a copy of your secondary it is password protected with your birthday I think

Submitted my secondary at the end of October and I haven't gotten a peep in response. At this point I know it's almost certainly a no, but I'm still holding out hope for this school! Can anyone tell me if they'll still be interviewing during March or about how many seats are likely left? Thank you 🙂

At today's interview they said they will be interviewing through mid-April with about 5-6 more interview days and that the class is approximately 3/4 full. There is hope!!! 🙂

Has anyone had any luck with getting a refund on the first seat-holder deposit? Probably not, right? A shame since it's so steep.

Lol it's nonrefundable I don't think anybody has asked for a refund

Got the email and was ACCEPTED 02/17!

I interviewed on 02/04.

Local South Florida boy here (born in Dade, raised in Broward). I went away for school but I am definitely looking forward to interacting with the community I'm proud to call home, as well as sharing the experience with everyone else!

Been celebrating plenty since I got the call, and forgot to post on this thing lol. Deposit paid as of today 😏. Looking forward to meeting you all soon!

Grateful to have been accepted here, but after deliberations I decided Nova isn't the best fit. Hope one of you waiting gets the seat!

Any suggestions......

I have yet to hear back from NOVA after my interview on 02/16 but have been accepted by another school. While I am humbled that another medical school has accepted me, deep down I really want to go to NOVA. My deposit for the other school is due next week, but if I were to get into NOVA I would definitely go (forfeiting my other deposit), so........do you think it is appropriate to reach out to NOVA about my situation and ask them if they can give me an answer about my acceptance before my deposit is due for the other school. This way I would be able to put down or not put down a deposit in confidence that it would not be money down the drain.

Thanks for all the help.

I think it's appropriate to explain your situation and ask when acceptances/rejections/waitlist will be sent out. Make sure that email or phone call REALLY sounds like NOVA is your top choice though haha. I think it's an understandable question tho!

I've heard that typically this isn't considered a good look...however you may want to just call and ask when decisions for your interview date are expected. I feel like another week from now is likely enough time to hear back. I'm in the same situation on a later timeline than you and I'm waiting until the very last hour to see if I have to put down the deposit at the other school.

Hey guys! I have an interview scheduled for March 31st, but it looks like an earlier date has opened up.
Does anyone know if NOVA interviews just for the waitlist on the later dates? Would I have a better chance of getting accepted if I do an earlier interview like next week?

I would appreciate any insight or help on this matter.

I would say earlier is always better!

I was in the same position and I asked a friend in admissions and this person adviced me to reach out to them ... If I were you I would reach out to Maricella directly since she would probably have your most updated status and this is a matter with a deadline ... Overall showing that other schools want you only makes them want you more ;-)

I have been accepted after reaching out so it did work for me

When do they pull off from the wait list?

After March 15th, thats when the second deposit is due so they will see who decided to change their mind after the first deposit. Or maybe they will wait until after they finish all their interviews, so in that case after Mid-April. These are just assumptions.

Does anyone have an idea on the likelihood of receiving an interview if I submitted a last-minute secondary (like 2 days before the deadline)? I've read that they have added multiple additional dates but haven't heard anything.

Any suggestions/advice going into these "group" interviews?

What group interview?
I may have been mistaken, but I thought the interviews were conducted with a group of applicants and possibly two interviewers?

Nevermind, I must've misread something somewhere. I've the correct information now.

No worries! I think most interviews were with 1 or 2 interviewers, but only one student 🙂 btw great username and avatar!

Got an II on Monday and can't wait to see the school. Does anyone know if there are any spots still available if not, do they have a waitlist and does it see much movement?

Not sure about the waitlist really, but I do think there are still spots open.

Sweet. I've got a 27 MCAT and 3.4 sGPA, 1000+ volunteer hours, more than enough shadowing (DO and MD) and president of pre-med fraternity. With it being this late in the application cycle do I stand a chance?

I would say that if you were invited to the interview, you have a pretty good shot. Good luck!

Does anyone know Chanel's email address? One of the student ambassadors from March 3rd. Thanks!

Anyone receive any more information excluding the initial acceptance packet?

Ummmmm got an email an hour ago telling me I was accepted, then 5 minutes later got another email saying the first email was recalled, and now have gotten another email saying I am accepted again........So am I accepted ? lol

I would assume you're accepted then! Congrats!

Nope. What'd you get in the initial packet? All I got was a copy of what was in the email.

Any interview tips. things to do/things to avoid? i read it's a fairly short interview - approx. 20 min. is this still the case? is it one on one or group? sdn seems to be split 50-50 on this in the interview feedback. will really appreciate any words of advice. best of luck to you all!

It's about twenty minutes, with two interviewers at the same time. Definitely have a good answer for "why Nova." I don't know about other people's interviews, but I didn't get any crazy questions. They're definitely not trying to slip you up or anything. Good luck!
