I heard back but apparently I'm the only one from 3/1, at least on sdn. My stats were fairly high though so I wouldn't be too worried about not hearing back yet, they're most likely waiting to see the mandatory deposits come through.

Hey guys. I interviewed on 2/25 and I just called NOVA's admissions department to see about decisions because Maricela told our group we would hear by today. I was told that I am still pending and no decision has been made yet. They transferred me to Maricela who did not answer the phone and her voicemail was too full for me to leave a message. Sooooo hopefully we will all hear something next week.
 
I too just called and spoke with someone from the admissions department. I was also told that my application is still pending and that there is no timeline for a response.
 
Interviewed 3/1 and received alternate list decision in snail mail today.

Does anyone know how NSUCOM feels about letters of interest? Applied here in early Feb (GPA 3.69 MCAT 33) and only heard crickets so far. Thanks for the help.
 
Do you think its worth writing a letter now considering how late it is in the cycle?

I was initially wait listed for NSU and didn't get an acceptance letter until mid June (this was in 2012). I sent them "updates" every two weeks on what I was doing and my continued interest. All worked out in the end. My point is that it can't hurt your chances!

Did you send in hard copy letters or update by email? If by email, what was the address you sent them to? Thanks again!
 
The class is currently completely filled. There are two more interview days, but they are likely all for wait list positions at best.

I sent email updates. To be honest I don't remember who I sent them to since it was 2012. They said they keep every email you send in their file of you.

What does waitlist movement look like? If you don't mind, how do you know they are full? Everyone that just recently interviewed said 3/4.
 
I have it on good authority (class rep for 2019) that the class has been filled [also that info is posted to the fb page for 2020]. I can't speak for wait list movement, but most people I know that are currently at Nova that got in off the wait list tend to have done so around June or so.

Edit to my above post: It's entirely possible that you may have been admitted and not heard yet. I wouldn't fret until you get the official word from the school. Also, if you're signed up to interview, definitely still do. It's still worth the effort (folks choose to attend other schools all the time so no idea how many seats will be open). All we know is that deposits paid = seats available. That doesn't mean all those folks will attend (a good portion probably won't)... technically, there could still be many more acceptances going out when folks withdraw.

I wasn't a wait list candidate, but I don't believe it's ranked. Not sure how large it is. In the Class of 2019, there was only person that was accepted off the wait list that I know (he randomly showed up mid-orientation... and we all wondered where he came from). The year before I believe there were many more (I seem to talk to a lot of people from 2018 that said they were accepted off the wait list). As mentioned above, continue to express interest and you'll likely hear in June.

Can anyone else lend credence to that statement and whether or not a wait list is on the menu post-Interview.

I wrote a letter of intent before I interviewed and my interviewer asked me questions pertaining to it so they definitely read them. Can't hurt!

Did Nova have a second deposit deadline of April 1, like many other schools? I'm crossing my fingers that there will be people who do not pay this second deposit and it will open up some seats for later interviewees. Maybe there will be some movement after April 1?

Has anyone who interviewed on March 3 heard anything? I know she said to wait until April 11, but I'm just curious 🙂

seems like radio silence, lately..

also, i read this https://www.aacom.org/docs/default-source/cib/2016_nsu-com.pdf?sfvrsn=4 , and it says that accepted students have 14 days to come up with a deposit, so there doesnt seem to be any deadlines. I was thinking that maybe they were waiting to see if spots opened after April 1st, but that doesnt seem to be the case

I guarantee that spots will be opening up soon. Maybe not a lot, but I know that just like the MD process, a lot of people are still waiting to hear back from schools and holding multiple acceptances. Keep your head up!

Trust me, I know! Good luck though, and stay sane! Hopefully I'll be able to give my Nova spot to you 🙂 (I'm waiting on my #1)
 
Got the pending candidate email. I didn't even know they were still looking at candidates. I sent a withdrawal email asap to free up space for someone else. Good luck.
 
Does anyone know what "pending candidate" means? I have never heard that term before. Is it like "hold"? Don't schools normally take students off hold once the class has filled?

I really don't know what it means. I never interviewed so I doubt they would put me on some sort of waitlist from which they would have accepted me without interview.
 
Have there been rejections as well? Or is everyone who hasn't interviewed yet basically going to receive this same pending email?
 
I think it basically means that they're keeping us active for now just in case not enough people put down deposits towards matriculation....
"Applications in this status remain active, but are not ranked." Thats just my opinion. Hopefully someone can follow-up with them and let us know here
