Bumping this. Is anyone still waiting on Colorado? I haven't received a rejection letter yet.Anyone hear back from Colorado?
I heard that acceptances were given via email last Tuesday. I haven’t received either acceptance or rejection email yet.Bumping this. Is anyone still waiting on Colorado? I haven't received a rejection letter yet.
Don't waste your time.57. 10/11 (email) Georgia School of Orthodontics, Nov 1-5 virtual
Don't waste your time.
Atleast some of those schools have a case to attend though. Jacksonville is a 2 year program, Colorado is the only ortho program in the state so the patient pool is there, Seton hill only has 7-8 residents per class and is relatively cheap (30 month program), and Roseman is in a city with 2x the population than SLU and has fewer residents than they do.Same argument can be made for any of the for profit schools. Jacksonville, Colorado, Roseman, Seton Hill, Georgia, and the new CTOR. Save your money
It's clear this school is one of the most expensive, if not the most. I agree the tuition increase has gotten out of hand. But "don't waste your time"? I disagree here. If you really desire to be an orthodontist, then you'll find a way. In my opinion, the Georgia school as well as the other for profit schools mentioned give applicants who are very qualified but not necessarily in the top of their class, the opportunity to become an orthodontist. Now whether or not your desire to be an orthodontist equals/out weighs the tuition cost, that decision is up to you.Don't waste your time.
How much is tuition at Georgia? It's clear this school is one of the most expensive, if not the most. I agree the tuition increase has gotten out of hand. But "don't waste your time"? I disagree here. Is SLU considered a "bad" program?Atleast some of those schools have a case to attend though. Jacksonville is a 2 year program, Colorado is the only ortho program in the state so the patient pool is there, Seton hill only has 7-8 residents per class and is relatively cheap (30 month program), and Roseman is in a city with 2x the population than SLU and has fewer residents than they do.
GSO shares the state with Augusta and has 36 residents PER CLASS. They're a completely different beast than the rest of the for-profit programs.
There is going to be a social? That would be great! I did not see it mentioned on the schedule they sent via email.Did details for the Columbia social come out yet?
I haven’t received any info about a social either. There is going to be a social? That would be great! I did not see it mentioned on the schedule they sent via email.
NoIs SLU considered a "bad" program?
Hmm nevermind maybe I assumed there would be one but perhaps there is not! There is going to be a social? That would be great! I did not see it mentioned on the schedule they sent via email.
9:00-10:30 a.m. or 3:30-5:00 p.m. ESTIs there a UConn social?
Still nothing for me. Any news?Anything from Howard?
Has anyone reached out to them?Still nothing for me. Any news?
Nope!Has anyone received an invite from USC?
Did they say when they were going to let people know?Anyone hear back from Loma Linda after interviewing?
Does anyone have strategies or recommendations about ranking schools? For example, interviewing at school where after the interview you definitely felt the program was not a good fit for you or for your intentions after graduating? How much does it affect your chances of not matching if you don't rank a place where you interviewed?
I'll give you the perspective of a current 1st year resident. Now that I'm at a program, I've realized there's a few things that jump out as "very important" when looking for a program.Does anyone have strategies or recommendations about ranking schools? For example, interviewing at school where after the interview you definitely felt the program was not a good fit for you or for your intentions after graduating? How much does it affect your chances of not matching if you don't rank a place where you interviewed?
I’ve gotten about 50% of replies to my thank you notes, and the ones i’ve received were pretty much a basic general response they send out to everyone. I really don’t think a response (or lack of) means anything about how they ranked youDo people hear back for their thank you note? I know the admissions are probably too buzy and it does not impact the eventual result anyway I have been feeling low after the interview..
I have generally gotten responses from the chief resident if they were part of the interview process and at least one faculty member, usually the program director. Responses are pretty general and short.Do people hear back for their thank you note? I know the admissions are probably too buzy and it does not impact the eventual result anyway I have been feeling low after the interview..
