Did the school require "official" reports? This wasn't an option for me because they required the scores directly from ETS!
Yes I think they did. But since they didn’t want them electronically, I just assumed printing them from the website was as close to official as they’re going to get without it being directly sent to them through the website.

You can ask the school for the institution code and department code, then you can send the official score via ETS(GRE) website electronically. Go to your ETS account, find 'Scores', click 'send additional score reports'.

I don't think so, if the school doesn't receive enough interviewee confirmations they will probably extend further invitations. That's why they rarely send an official rejection email until maybe after the whole app process is over
I just went to the ETS-GRE page. And went to my scores. Printed the page out and sent them in a Manila envelope with the rest of the requested documents.

Has anyone gotten any type of response from Colorado as to your application being complete or even that they have an application open for you? I applied directly and have not had a response after a call and an email.

Just curious for those that got an interview at UIC are you exclusively in match?

How many interviews do schools roughly send out ? Do we just assume that UIC and Iowa will not send another round of invitations? Are these programs heavy on rank?

I can't speak for all schools, but I know my program will get about 300-350 applications and then cut it down to 100 purely based on rank. Then they will sort through those applications and chose about 50 interviews to conduct. Again, not sure about other programs, but I would imagine a similar process for most programs.

Yes i’m exclusively match, but i dont think we had to submit anything saying we were?
they might just know via adea pass
Yeah I don't believe they did. I only recall Michigan requiring a submission confirming to only be part of match. I was curious if programs really know if you're exclusively in match.

This really makes me wonder what the chances are for someone that didn't graduate anywhere near the top of the class. Dental school was rough for me due to some personal life issues I was going through at the time. I pushed through it and got everything done, but my class rank (bottom 25% of class) really suffered because of it and I don't think it's reflective of my academic abilities. I've been working for a little over a year now. General dentistry just isn't for me. Ortho was always the goal from the start. I took the GRE (163V/159Q/4W) and ADAT (550) this year and applied to nearly every program because it's the only thing I can see myself doing for another 20+ years. If schools really have a cutoff for class rank what are the chances anyone with a low ranking can ever get into ortho??

Personally, if your rank is that low, then I think you really need to have stellar standardized testing scores rather than above average. I'm talking 90+ percentile in every category. I can't speak for other programs but mine (won't say which for privacy reasons but it's a 2 year program) takes a holistic approach and assigns points to each applicant based off a variety of things which include rank, leadership, GRE scores, recc letters, etc. An applicant with a very high rank that isn't well-rounded in other aspects would not get an interview.

For programs that do assign interviews in that way (I bet many do), you're doing yourself a disservice by not having very high standardized testing scores with your rank. I wasn't in the bottom 25% of my class, but I was also really barely in the top half of my class. I am where I am now because my GRE score was comparable to that of a student applying to Harvard, UPenn, NYU, etc MBA programs and because the rest of my application was well-rounded.

How did you prepare for Gre, how many weeks/months and did you do a gpr? Will doing a gpr actually helps?

Just used Magoosh and vocab flash cards, nothing else. Also did a few practice runs for the writing section but that section is more about writing as much as possible and hitting all the checkboxes on the rubric so I believe anyone can get a 5+ on that section if they properly prepare for it. I have heard programs value that writing section (especially the ones that require a Masters) the most as it is the only section that has some level of correlation with success in residency. I prepared for the exam for about a month, maybe a bit less than that.

I went straight from dental school to residency. That probably was advantageous for me because it allowed me to get quality recommendations from faculty who had me fresh in their mind. Not sure if a GPR will help you or not, I'm a traditional applicant so I don't have much knowledge on that aspect.

Hi! Do you have any updates on interviews? Thank you!

Hey everyone! Thank you for creating and updating this thread 🙂! Any news from universities so far (other than UIC) that accept internationals? I applied to 12 different schools - UPenn, BU, Case Western, NYU, Saint Louis, UBuffalo, Detroit Mercy, Maryland, Minnesota, UTHSCSA and UWashington. And tbf I'm starting to get a bit worried. I'm a 2020 BDS grad, my GPA is 3.49, lots of extracurriculars and volunteering experience, INBDE, TOEFL score of 101, GRE score around 305 and a couple of publications. Do I wait and remain hopeful? And what do you think are the chances of getting interviews.

Sorry for the long comment! And appreciate all the help I can get 🙂
Based on previous years' interview send out dates, I think we're still all waiting. closer to late September I think is when most schools send out invites. Check out these dates for last year's programs that you're interested in:

I still have not heard back from them! Very odd we have not received a confirmation/follow-up
Yea. I wasn’t sure if the social was also offered virtually, it wasn’t clear in the invitation email. We should call and ask?

Just got an email.
same, is it just me or the email is confusing since it mentions dates for Sept 14 Wednesday and Sept 15 Thursday, followed by details for the Thursday social and Friday interview. I'm not sure if there was an error, since they didn't mention Wednesday earlier.

They got back to me quickly, it was just a small clerical error. Confirmed for Thursday orientation, Friday interview 🙂

Do interview invites from a particular program always go out on the same day? Holding out hope that the only one applied for (lsu) will somehow still make contact.
