Guess that bad interview really was as bad as I thought...thin envelope today :( :(

Oh well, good luck to the rest of you!

Okay,

I'm in as well. Got the letter today in Baltimore, at my school address. Now there's some tough decision making ahead. Good luck to all of those who have yet to hear.

Oh-- I'm curious about a second-look weekend. As CDC said before, there's no suggestion that one exists. Are they not going to even host one? That's pretty snooty, if you ask me. What are the plans for people who got in, are you going to go back and revist on your own?

BOTS•••••Congratulations!!! That's awesome!!! I've never heard anything too negative about HMS. If you're thinking of taking an extra degree in economy, public policy, business, law,... Harvard is THE place. The resources here are amazing. Hope you'll be my classmate. :)

I just got an acceptance (very unexpected) and was hoping there would be a second look weekend. I am going to have a hard time with my decision. Well maybe I'll call tomorrow and ask about a second look weekend. I may go on my own if there isnt one though.

Anyway, good luck to everyone still expecting mail!

hey where's my letter?
i'm not expecting a big envelope and i live like 12 miles from the school. what's taking so long?!?

hey everybody...i just stumbled onto this site a coupla days ago cause interview feedback was down, anxiously awaiting a letter or envelope from harvard, totally expecting either a reject or waitlist but found a packet today. i'm so crazily excited and shocked at the same time. dunno about boston tho, even though i grew up there. what do ppl think of boston as opposed to NYC or Bay area (stanford)?

That's awesome! I'm from the Bay Area so I know what I'm missing in term of weather. But Boston is great otherwise. A small, charming city with a beautiful river. Nice museums, entertainment, etc... And it's Harvard Med!!! Where else can you find a combination of great medical institutions like MGH, BWH, Beth Israel, Dana Farber, etc...? I would love to go back to CA to practice, but a few years in Boston when I'm young is quite fun!

As far as I know, there *is* a second look weekend. It generally happens at the end of this month--it usually coincides with Yale's or Penn's so I would find out what the dates are for those and plan accordingly.

I suppose they'll let us know soon enough...

Hey All,

I don't know about there being a general second look weekend at this point, but I just received an invitation for a minority students revisit from April 25-28. I would guess that the general one would be the week before or after. Of course, I have no real idea what I am talking about...

still nothing in the mail today.

Congrats to all of you with acceptances! I'm out of the country so I can't check my mail. However, I'll get a waitlist letter at best. I interviewed HST and HST acceptances were sent out via email almost a month ago. Good luck with your ridiculously awesome decisions. :p

Harvard is quite flexible with deferrals. I don't think you'll have any problem.

Still no letter from Harvard. Has anyone else not recieved the letter yet?

OMG!! After the WORST interview in the world I am in!!! How on EARTH did that happen?!?!?! I swear, I cried after my faculty interview it went SO badly. My interviewer was 1 hr late, my interview was 15 mins long, and my interviewer gave me the impression that he thought I was an unclutured piece of poo. This is sooo crazy! I have been working on myself psychologically since that horrible interview day so it wouldn't hurt so bad when I got rejected. Needless to say this was totally unexpected!!!

Good luck to everyone who is waiting for their envelopes, I am praying that all of us SDNers hear good news - you guys are the nicest bunch of pre-meds!! Even if your interview went horribly, apparently there is still hope that you can get in :)

Congratulations Jessica!!!! Is Harvard your number one choice? You also got into UCSF right? Did you get the letter today?

yeah, i felt like my faculty interview was TOTALLY terrible!! the guy made me look like i didn't know any of the research that i did and questioned my every word! i dunno! mebe it was a test! who's going for sure? i still haven't decided...argh. i want to, but i cant' give up the BAY AREA!!

CONGRATS to everyone who got in!

i finally got the thin envelope yesterday (i only live like 12 miles from the school!). i'm honored to have at least been interviewed and think that HMS has some amazing students! duh, right?

at least this way my decision is a lot easier. :)

good luck everyone!

wait. so who's definitely going to harvard? what schools are u from? i'm almost 99% sure going, just trying to pry myself away from CA

Do you really want to pry yourself from beautiful, sunny NorCal to go to this crappy city? :) I'm from the Bay Area, so I know what I'm missing living here in Boston. But since the temptation of having to move my furniture, computer, books, etc... just across the river is too good to turn down, I'll stay here for another four or more years.

I'm a fourth year student at UCLA, and about 90% sure I'll be going to HMS next year. Is anyone going on the Alliance (revisitation) weekend trip?

I believe that I will be going to the revisitation weekend. hope to see you there

Harvard has a revisit weekend? I haven't gotten any information about that yet. When is it?

Bump...

When is the revisit weekend?

The revisit weekend is April 25-28... This is probably a dumb question, but what does bump mean? (I'm new to this board)

The April 25-28th weekend is for underrepresented minority applicants only. I called the admissions office and there will be another weekend for all applicants, but they haven't finalized a date yet (most likely first weekend in May). They need to get it together...

Hey guys, Congrats to all of you...Here's a question, would you go to Harvard and pay everything or Duke with Free tuition.

Thanks

Thanks•••••Was it you who asked this question on a separate post? I would probably get some financial aid from Harvard so it wouldn't too bad. Even with a free ride at Duke, I would still go to Harvard. The experience here is totally worth it. I'm interested in a second degree in international development, and I think I will learn more at Harvard thanks to the vast resources here. In the end, I don't think I'll have any problem paying off my debts. Besides, Boston is a nicer place to live. :)

If you like Duke about the same as you liked Harvard, I'd go with the school that will leave you with the least debt upon graduation. They are arguably both awesome schools, and choosing one over the other (IMHO) shouldn't have a tremendously significant impact on the rest of your life. :D If you felt like Duke was a good fit for you, then by all means, I would take them up on their offer for free tuition. But thats just my opinion :) Good luck with your decision!

So does anyone know when Harvard is supposed to send out letters this year? I thought it was the last day of February, but last year they didn't sent out letters until March 29! I really hope that we don't have to wait that long!

Hi Sunnygirl,

I think it's the last day in February. I think the reason the notification date was delayed last year is that AMCAS was screwed up. We'll see what happens; my first interview was great (my interviewer told me that she hoped to see me next year) while my second interview was hard to gauge (the interviewer had a poker face). Going to stop all speculation until the notification day rolls along.
