When is Oregon usually sending out the interviews?
Last year it was around this time but things may be different. For example San Antonio interviewed in August last year and are interviewing tomorrow this year.

I’ve been told some give you 24 and some 48. But I have also heard that it’s possible to ask for an extension
I have heard it’s rude to do so because you are essentially telling that program that they aren’t your priority or your first pick

A good rule is a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Take it if it is offered. Usually, you get something like 24/48hrs, maybe the weekend if the interview is on Thursday/Friday. The only situation where you might be able to pull it off is if you take the earlier interview slot of a program with multiple dates and you go to another program before the later interview date. Assuming you get acceptances at both that is...

Anyone know if invites have gone out for Tennessee or Nebraska yet?

Can someone update the list? Don’t know how on iphone. Thanks.

Does anyone know much about the einstein program? Is it heavy in research? How is the interview?

Just wondering if anyone knows if these programs are doing two different 1-day interviews or if it's a 2-day interview?
UIC (July 12 & 13)
UCSF (July 13 & 14)
Minnesota (July 13 &14)

Also, Nebraska emailed today, interviews on either 7/21 or 7/24

If you're a strong candidate and have other interviews lined up at better or closer programs, I'd personally suggest going through with those before making a decision. It may not be the norm, but I don't think it's necessarily wrong to keep interviewing even after getting an offer. You have to do what's best for you and not just bend to the system that favors programs. The endo world may be small, but programs aren't bragging about their lists of accepted residents. I actually know of endo residents who accepted one offer but continued interviewing and ended up accepting another program later on.

It is frowned upon and is not professional if someone accepts a position and continues to interview at other programs. It is unfair for other candidates and program directors. I was asked to sign a consent when I accepted my resident position. I am not sure how much legality it possesses, but I won’t ignore it. I do not recommend continue interviewing after accepting an offer.

Endo should just move onto the Match system now. This whole non-match system is ridiculous.

Did you get an acceptance on the spot?

Well it's like the saying "f around to find out." Some PDs are okay getting blind sided, some aren't so good at taking it. PDs really know eachother very well... so it's a dangerous game to play if you accept a position and still attend interviews

YMMV, but usually they'll contact you the night of or the next day if you're accepted

Edit: not sure about the programs with multiple interview date

does anyone know about Detroit mercy or university of Michigan? Have the Michigan schools started interviews yet? thanks!

I agree. I think this whole “you have 24 hours to decide” is predatory. It eliminates one’s ability to choose the best offer they got. I can somewhat understand the viewpoint it’s unfair to schools or what not but it’s the interviewees who front majority of the cost to fly and stay at these locations for an interview along with a missed work day. Dental school wasn’t like this, or at the very least you were told you would lose your deposit, which is fair.

Does anyone know anyone who has accepted and only to accept a different program? I’m curious as to how it went.

Here’s the thing. They’ll probably respectfully ask you to stop interviewing if you accept their position. Or some will even overnight you a document to sign showing your intent. If you tell a program that has accepted you that you wish to continue interviewing they will say that’s fine but that they are going to offer someone else the spot. So unless you are lucky and they don’t require you to pledge any type of assurance that you promise to attend their program, you are starting your career off with dishonesty. If they don’t really say anything, sure, keep interviewing.

I know someone who played this game. They were honest about it and the program recended their offer. The applicant went on to interview and 3 great programs, hopefully holding out for their top choice, didn’t get it. Had a panicky couple months and luckily got accepted later in the cycle to a program that interviewed late. So it worked out but it was a really tough time for them.

How many interviewees are typically present for an interview at a school? I have heard one school for example will be interviewing 24 people for 3 seats. Is it typically similar to this?
San Antonio interviewed 16 for 3 seats.
Not familiar with other programs.

Does anyone know much about the einstein program? Is it heavy in research? How is the interview?
Einstein is an INCREDIBLE program! I'd daresay best in the country. Very heavy clinically. They have the latest and greatest tech. I don't think they stress too much on research. I wish I had feedback for the interview but unfortunately the only email I got from them was asking me my visa status. It was crickets after that. 😂

Which school is the one you heard of that is interviewing 24 ppl?

How do they select applicants?
