*****Official PASS 2026 Endodontic Residency Interviews/Information***

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hi question for you all, is it important at all to bring a portfolio of cases you have done to your interview? Is it worth bringing anything at all other than yourself? CV? Resume? Photos?

How is everybody feeling about this “Big Beautiful Bill” for student loans that just got passed by the senate? It would cap grad student loans at $200,000. I already have a little more than that so I guess I would be looking at private loans for endo residency?? That scares me

We will see very quickly what is worth the money as far as education goes lol

So do we think NYU has sent out all of their interview invites already? I know they have 11 positions.

Did you guys get today an email from Indiana "We have received all supplemental documentation. Your application is complete and will be reviewed by the admissions committee." I submitted all my documents by May 20th. I hope they saw my application when they picked their candidates.

Just out of curiosity, how people handle if multiple interviews are on same date
I see a lot of them are happening in middle of July

I actually did have that struggle two years ago and still sometimes wonder—what if I’d gone to the other one?

Now I’m applying for the third time. They say third time’s the charm. Still trying. Still hopeful.
My third time either, but if i don’t get it this time I’m all tapped out (i literally don’t know what new things to work on my resume)… will move on in life.

Which programs if you had an interview there, you will get 97% chance of getting in? i meant which program is selective in their interviewees. Do you guys know?

How is everybody feeling about this “Big Beautiful Bill” for student loans that just got passed by the senate? It would cap grad student loans at $200,000. I already have a little more than that so I guess I would be looking at private loans for endo residency?? That scares me
I thought you can borrow up to 50 K / year. Total 200 K for professional as a new borrower, they won’t take into account what you have borrowed before !
i am sure applicants number will drop drastically because of this bill!

So the max one can borrow for endo residency is 100k? (For 2 yr program)

I don’t think this is true. I believe it’s 200K all time. So anyone who took out loans for dental school already will have nothing for residency. Are people thinking of dropping out of the running for residency? Private loans are so predatory and have insane interest rates.

How much interest is high? Federal is at 5-7% !!
i believe….Yes dropping and definitely not applying again!

Yes average 12% ! Very high. If you are qualified…Then residency programs need to lower tuition and That’s not going to happen soon.
But definitely less applicants for next years at least for schools with high tuition ($70 K and more) which is more than half of the endo programs in the USA. I am sending my kids to Europe for education lol..
i talked to colleagues…they don’t think in advance…they just want to get into residency & then they will figure it out later…
Just like when dental students ended up with $700 K loan insane!

A question for fellow applicants who have applied multiple cycles, do programs generally send out multiple interviews or just one?

Depends on the program. Most programs only send one, larger programs may send out multiple.

does it make sense to go back to GPR when 3 years post grad? I know programs value a gpr, but does anyone see a clinical benefit to this when considering sacrificing private practice pay and experience?

If my old program director wanted you and you were a fourth year, he would tell you to go to the VA and then guarantee your spot the following year. I don’t know if that happens anymore with other programs, but I would not waste a year or two. Even with a GPR, it doesn’t guarantee anything and I doubt at this point you would learn much. The only promise would be lost income.

Did anyone here go to Rutgers Endo and would be willing to answer a few questions about the program, leading up to the interview this week?

Any new updates from West Virginia, UConn, or UAB?
