Wow. You are an example of how this process is such a total crapshoot. Congrats on the acceptance. 30 years in state without hearing a word. I'm jealous 😉
Thank you SO much! You'll be in my prayers and thoughts man.

Super impressed! I am out of state and trying to wait patiently! Congrats!!

Accepted! Although I'm still wondering why/how/if I am dreaming. I'll admit it, I started tearing up as it's my first acceptance.

For those of you who want to know:
OOS student, Complete 10/1, Interview 11/12, accepted 11/26 (2 week turn around). The MCAT tortured me (I got a 23). <--- That being said I really do believe they look at you're ENTIRE application. So folks out there concerned w your MCAT score or GPA or anything else try to focus on the positives you bring to the table.

Don't give up hope you guys!!

still haven't heard ( 4 weeks ) :/ 24 with similar gpa stats and in state. you give me hope though!

also im so confused. I went to the open house last week and they said you need an 8 in every section in their ppt presentation? do any of you guys know if that was required or recommended?

Yea I was absolutely blown away by their interview. Everyone was so incredibly nice and the tour was very well organized along with informative... I have to say, I was completely sold after having been there for the interview and all...

Thanks for the information. I hope my time will come. Congratulations, once again!

When I interviewed I know several students said they lived in apartment buildings right by the school. Do you know the names of any the apartment buildings close by? Also do most people live by themselves or with other students?

It's probably about half and half between people who live by themselves/people who have roomies. 🙂 Near the school we've got Metropolitan Bala (used to be Beekman Place), Lincoln Green, Vista, and Presidential are ones I can name off the top of my head.

got the secondary today .... did you guys use the same essay response that was used for the Georgia campus?

You can use the same essay, your responses are read by two different committees

What do most people recommend? Living by yourself or with roomies? I've heard roomies is better cause you guys can help each other study and stuff

Hey guys! Current PCOM student here. Congrats on your acceptances! I can't wait to see you all around campus next year. Let me know if you have any questions. 🙂

I see a few of you are thinking of living in Center City. I would probably advise against that, or at least ask you to consider places closer to the school. Manayunk is a really popular place - and I believe it is much cheaper than Center City. There are also houses and apartment buildings really close to campus. I live in a building that's a ten minute walk, and I can't imagine living much farther away - especially during anatomy class! Center City is a really expensive place to live, and for those of you who have never faced Philly morning traffic - it is one of the least fun things in the world, haha.

With regards to laptops, definitely make sure you meet the minimum requirements! 😀 We take all our exams on a computer program, and you don't want to have a problem with that. Macs seem to be pretty popular with our class, but it's definitely a personal preference.

What appartment building do you live in... I was looking into a few close to campus and was wondering what you would suggest.. thanks

Re: Apartments.

Beekman Place (or ?now Metropolitan Bala) is too expensive. I lived there and was paying a good chunk of change to live by myself. My rent when I moved in was $980 and I moved out 2 years later because it was going to be raised to $1030. I'm sure its more expensive now. That's the price for rent + electricity. I used no heat in the winter because it seemed to pour out the heating system, but still was consistently paying 50-70 dollars/winter month because of how heat/gas is priced. They take the total gas bill for private space and divide it amongst the square footage of your apartment. You also had to pay cable/internet if you wanted it. I would say on average I was paying 1200 or so dollars for living expenses. There are cheaper options such as Presidential (or living with a roommate).

The building/staff are great, but too expensive for the area and amenities. They also advertise garage parking, but that is an extra fee each month as well.

Check out Henry on the Park. It's about 10-15 minutes from campus in a more "residential" area, but the rent is cheap and there are lots of amenities for a pretty nice place!

Just got my acceptance letter this evening! OOS, interviewed 11/8, 25 MCAT (6p/10v/9b), c3.45, s3.5. Non-traditional. This is my first acceptance, and I'm completely over the moon! I loved this school!

I can't wait until we get a facebook group going to meet everyone! :soexcited:

Does anyone live in imperial towers or iriqouis/vista? I'm looking for info on pricing/quality on a 1 bedroom apt.

While I did not ever live in iriqouis, it does not look to be the greatest place from the exterior and location. Again it could be great inside but I do not get a great impression. I lived for a semester in Lincoln Green Apartments. Close to PCOM but a on the pricy side. I would suggest looking at the Bala Apartments on City Ave. and if you don't mind living a short drive away I would look into Manayunk /Falls area for affordable, nice housing in a college friendly area.

How much was rent at lincoln green?

Does anyone know if there is a specific method for paying the pre-tuition fee of 250? I was just going to do a money order and mail it in with the papers.

So do you know whether the technical standards and deposit need to be postmarked by Dec 16th, is have to be received by Dec 16th? I'm holding out for a little bit, but am in Alaska...mailing something always takes at least 4-5 days!

I'm looking to get a 4 person house in Manayunk... prices range from $400-600/person. Definitely reasonable for a large house with 4 bedrooms and 2+ bathrooms. Living alone sucks. I like the idea of having a support group

Woo hoo! Just received my interview invite for January 6. Any helpful tips for this interview?

Congratulations! Really happy for you! What do you think made your application stand out from the rest of the applications they are reviewing? How was your interview and what types of questions did they ask you?

They have me set for next week. Be thankful that you have some quality prep time. Good luck 🙂

Wow, quick turnaround for you between the II and actual interview day... Congrats. Is that common for PCOM or do you think it might be filling in for an II cancellation?

I called the office and everything must be received by the 16th not postmarked or they will withdraw your acceptance

Woah, they're not playing around! I suppose I'll be sending in my deposit before I leave tomorrow for a week!

They have some sort of formula for scheduling them, but I really don't know.

UMFC.. I'm mid-week.

I don't know if they have a "formula" but they're very strict on the rescheduling policy. They straight up assign you a date and time for the interview, and you're only able to reschedule one time. If you can't make a rescheduled time, then you don't get an interview!

FYI there are schools with a more strict policy. Another school I interviewed at gave you an interview date that you either made or didn't interview - no rescheduling allowed.

So I believe I was complete in early October. Should I bother them with calling to check up on my application, or continue to play the waiting game? Also congrats to those with IIs and acceptances.

Complete since September and they don't even respond to my emails.
Complete since October... Same story for me... Silence and no response even when I have legitimate concerns regarding revisions...
