hmmm, I just called them and they said that the updates go directly to my file and they there was no need to download a new one because it's already on file. I don't know if they were being honest or if they were just trying to shut me up quickly. Should I send them an email? The updates literally have 10 achievements/experiences since graduation, summer, etc.
you can do it but whether it gets in your file or not is a toss up

All accepted candidates are required to remit a $1500 non-refundable deposit by April 15th. ( Taken from their website.) I was accepted in the late winter and I think I only had 30 days to send in my deposit and I thought it was 1700 dollars for some reason. Not sure. Any other students who matriculated remember? ................ Remember, any deposit you put down at any school is non refundable. I lost my hefty deposit at another school after getting accepted here.

@JW2020 what say you? "There's $500 (due in I think February if I remember correctly) and another $1500 due in the summer"

Last year there was a $500 deposit earlier in the year (I honestly don't remember the deadline for this, but it was definitely at least a couple months before April) and later on a $1500 towards the end of the cycle. I was accepted at the end of October so it might vary a bit depending on when they act on your decision.

I'm going to be in the Philly area for about a week and am hoping to take a visit over to PCOM as it is my top choice! Anybody have recommendations on whether I should notify the school that I've applied and am interested to learn more about the program? Are there any student ambassadors who I may be able to meet with? Could I potentially observe a class? I noticed on their website they have certain tour dates/open houses, but none of those overlap for when I am there. Would love to hear from anyone that has visited on the best way to show my interest and see the school! Thanks!

They staff can't talk to you if you have an application. If you get a chance to interview you will get a tour. Otherwise best do the open house.

So the first deposit is due within a few weeks of your acceptance, depending on when you get the letter and that is 250 and then the big deposit is due in April i believe, it totals around 1750 together.

Hi everyone! Quick question. I applied to school a while ago (8/13 supplemental received) and have not heard a thing back from them. I'm assuming this is a rejection but I am just wondering what others experiences where in receiving IIs from this campus such as turn around times and notifications through. I am a little confused on how they notify their applicants since they say on the portal "status information is also not provided via phone or email inquiry at any time". I have not gone back through this thread to see what everyone else has said, so I'm sorry if this is repetitive. Any info is great, thanks 🙂

Hey there. I think PCOM just takes a bit longer because of the large volume of applications it receives. My supplemental application was complete at the end of July and I just received an II on October 2nd. So for me it was more than 2 months from my complete date. I hope that information helps.

Good luck!

Wow long turn around time but it is understandable since the school receives a large volume. Thanks for the info! Goodluck on your interview!

Are you instate? What month were you able to schedule your interview? I am OOS and all of my required items were dated by mid july.

on a separate note, did anyone get a complete email? I think this has been gone over though..

OOS and very far from Philly. The date is predetermined for you. If you can not make it on that day you must call and reschedule with an admissions coordinator. I was given plenty of notice so I will be attending the scheduled date in November.

I am also OOS (but former PA resident) and submitted first week of August. Would you mind sharing your stats? If not, totally cool. I am just unsure if I should interpret the silence as a rejection.

For what it's worth I interviewed on October 1st. They told us that was only their 2nd interview day. I would imagine there are plenty more days left.

how many people were there on interview day? Have an idea how many were IS/OOS?

I also interviewed on 10/1, almost everyone in our group was from PA, NJ or DE.

is NJ and DE considered OOS?

Yeah, kind of a dumb question. Its justthat I know DE and possibly NJ have a # of spots that are reserved specifically for those states.

Gotcha. They probably get separated from other OOS apps then. Although I'm not sure why NJ would get a designated number of seats considering they have several medical schools.

I wasnt sure about NJ. It might just be DE.

No, it's a very small percentage of our class (I can't speak to the years above me). You'll find gunners at every school.
This is 100% true. At any school you go to, there will always be gunners. The strange thing is that, from what I am seeing with ours, they are not necessarily the top students at all (you would not know that, though, based on the way they carry themselves).

Also, if any of you are getting the typical anxiety regardings getting an Interview and/or Acceptance, just remember that PCOM got nearly 10000 applications last year. Think about how much time it takes to go through that kind of volume. Also, PCOM is always having events or other things that the administration is involved in (something the people with interviews saw first-hand today), so it really does not take awhile to hear back. Everyone that gets in has a different story and a different timeline (some of us got in early, others got in late in the Spring). It will work out, if not here, then somewhere else.

Also, for those of you who are interviewing, you guys have a very good chance of getting in. I forgot the numbers they told us during Orientation, but the difference between the number of students interviewed and the acceptances given out is not as disparate as you may think.

Just got an interview here for 10/25, super excited and nervous!!!! For those who interviewed here already, what was your experience like? Currently going through last years thread for some insight!
Thanks in advance!

Are you in state or regional? Also when were you complete?!

Email the admissions office while they are obviously busy they are normally pretty good with having prospective students stop by to answer any questions. I would also call the omm dept and try to shadow one of the docs they are also receptive to future students if they can fit you in when you are in the area. Best of luck!

I had a fantastic experience interviewing here! It depends if your interview is morning or afternoon. I had an afternoon session, so we started with a tour and lunch, which were student-led and very relaxing. It was a great chance to ask students questions and get a feel for the campus (which is very nice IMO). You have 1 interview with multiple interviewers, very traditional and conversation based. I had 4 interviewers - a director of admissions, faculty member, alumni and a student. Some students only had 3 interviewers. They basically took turns asking me questions about my applications, experiences, life goals, etc. No curve balls or trick questions. It's about 30-45 minutes long. Best of luck, I hope you enjoy it!!

Hit "Reply" button. Add UserID and date for submitted, complete, etc dates.

UserID - Submitted Secondary|Complete|Pre-II Rejection/Waitlist or II date|Interview Attended|Post-II status
NBLogical - Sub'd 10/12 | Complete 10/14 | No | No | No

thanks for the advice! I'll definitely do that- excited to come and check it out

Edit: looks like they can't meet with people who have an active application on file 🙁

II just now! Interviewing October 29th. 29 mcat with a 7 on one section so don't freak out if your score is lopsided!

Hey for those of you who submitted individual LORs via AACOMAS instead of a committee letter, does your portal show the individual LORs? My "committee letter" box has a date received although I submitted individual LORs instead of a committee letter.

I submitted individual letters instead of a committee as well but I sent mine through interfolio. The portal shows a receive date next to the committee letter and under status it says the name of my undergrad

I was complete in July and have a parent who is an alum and its been silent for me!

I had the exact same thing. No problem with admittance! Just as long as they checked your committee letter box, you are good to go. I had no committee letter either! Be worried if all of your boxes are not checked!

I applied last year the minute the primary applications opened up. I had interviews with other medical schools in Fall of 2014 but did not hear from PCOM (one of my top choices) until December for an interview! Interviewed in late January. Deferred decision late winter and accepted two weeks later. Everyone is different!

Exactly for me also last year. Eventually heard in December, interviewed in late January in the middle of a snowstorm. Almost did not make it into Philly. The school was opened but my locale was snowed in! Put on deferred list late winter and then accepted two weeks later. Don't think I was not sweating it out! I was accepted at another medical school but was hoping to hear from PCOM. They came through for me! Family was happy!

It is just easier for them, if you have three letters meeting requirement from the same school they will just note the school, less work for them and completes the file.
