Hey all! Interviewing on Dec. 11th. I am an out of state applicant. This is my top choice school and has been since I decided to go osteopathic. Any advice/info about the interview?!

Anything would be greatly appreciated. I'm just excited for the opportunity to interview 🙂

Hi guys,

In state, complete Nov 3, II Nov 17th. Interviewing on Dec. 3rd and desperately hoping PCOM loves me as much as I love them. Everything I've read said the interview is pretty laid back and conversational but the pre-med in me doesn't want to relax. So I'm seconding @Bronze_rose up there... Does anyone have any advice for prep or what to expect? Any specific questions that threw you for a loop? I'm just hoping to be as prepared as possible since this is my #1.

Thanks in advance!

Congrats on your II! I didn't get any interview questions that were unexpected. I had about 5 questions. However, for my interview, it was more of a question and answer type of interaction. Not much conversation or many follow-up questions. Just be confident in your answers and try to incorporate "why PCOM" into some of your responses because that specific question might not be asked explicitly.

Best of luck 🙂

Did you feel like it was hard to connect with your interviewer(s)?

Also did they ask you anything that stumped you? Or were they generic interview questions?

I interviewed with one Admissions staff and one physician (alumni perhaps?). While it wasn't super awkward, they were both fairly stoic during the interview, though they were attentive.

Nope, pretty generic interview questions. Nothing that would be considered a trick question or anything like that. 🙂

Thank you for sharing your experience!!!
Did it feel like it went well and have you heard yet?

I tend to worry after an interview and overthink. I've read that some people felt like it was awkward and still got accepted

No problem! I felt like I could have done better but I was accepted. 🙂 I wouldn't necessarily call the interview awkward or anything like that. It was just more "interview-like" than conversational, if that makes more sense haha.

Good luck!

You're definitely going, right? I think I remember your comments from before (if I'm remembering correctly). Congratulations! Hopefully we will be classmates

Hi ! Everyone was super nice and it was an amazing day. I agree with everyone else the interview was laid back and I had 3 people interview me ( a physician, an adcom member and a student -- though all 3 were technically on the committee. I agree it was more interview like than conversational, def try to incorporate why PCOM is for you. My interviewers smiled and laughed with me when I talked about my work experience. I would also expect some follow up questions, I did bring up a weak point in my app and I was asked to expand upon it but I tried to use this to my advantage
Good luck! Hope to meet you next year!

Would anyone who has an II mind sharing what January and February dates were listed/available? I'm living abroad and trying to plan my dates in the US accordingly. Thanks!

That's a good sign to have smiles and laughs from your interviewers.

Has anyone called recently to inquire about status? I know they don't accept updates, but want to express interest/see if I can find out any additional information. I live in Philly, from rural PA, have been to PCOM open house and my stats should make me competitive. In reading this thread over the past few months people seem to be hostile on the other end - worth calling? or just a wait-it-out situation? Complete since July...
wait it out

You get assigned a date. If you can't make it you call and they give you options. You do not get to choose your first interview time and you can only reschedule one time

When were you conplete or submitted your app?

Congrats guys!!! Did you send individual thank you letters to the admin email or just one for all 3 interviewers? Also, I only remember one of my interviewers names 🙁 i hope it won't look bad if I call today and ask

Accepted yesterday via snail mail as well. Interviewed 2 weeks ago. I have no idea how to pay the deposit though. Can someone send me the payment link? I would really appreciate it.

Give a few days and the link will appear in the portal that you used to check if all of your documents were in! 🙂 And congrats on your acceptance, of course!

Was accepted via mail today!! Several other people I know were as well!!

Does anyone know if there is a Facebook group yet?

Congrats! I don't think there's a facebook group yet. I wasn't sure if the admin creates it, or we're supposed to create it....@_@

Also accepted yesterday 🙂 First one, nice relief. Good luck everyone! IS here, interviewed 11/23 I think?

So I know we have to wait a long while for need-based aid, but does anyone know when we hear whether or not we got merit scholarship money?

Hey do you mind sharing your stats and when your app was complete ? Thanks. Congrats btw

3.3 Cum, 34 MCAT, graduated top 35 school, doing research now, taking classes part time. I was complete within the first month. I really like DO and want to learn OMM, so even though my MCATs are high that's why I applied.

As for the interview, there were 4 rooms with sets of 3 people (student, a doctor, and and administrative person). Some rooms seemed more formal than others, yet the questions were standardized. It was pretty conversational and my interviewers were all very friendly and not confrontational at all, I actually stumbled on one and was like "wait, i'm nervous, let me try again" haha. PM me if you have anymore questions.

Thanks a ton! And congrats to your acceptance as well 🙂

Interviewed 11/16 and didn't receive anything this week at either my current address nor permanent address. Do we think there is a chance they haven't made a decision or should I start to prepare for a rejection?

Is the interview invite process completely random? I've been complete (or at least my portal has marked everything as received) since August and have not heard a word but other ppl have been called earlier and been complete later than me with similar stats...

I don't mind sharing my stats... 3.5 cGPA 3.4 sGPA 25 MCAT... however, statistics do not determine everything in this process. I understand it is nice to compare yourself to other candidates who have been interviewed but there is much more to these applications than just numbers...

100 % agree with you.

Congrats again and 100% agree with you as well. Were you IS or OOS?

I heard letters were not going to go out until after Thanksgiving so those that got rejected or put on hold wouldn't have their holiday ruined so I think letters did not go out until this week.
