Purdue c/o 2023

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hi ChasingDVM2023,

I managed to figure it out with the help of Google and Reddit, so I'll try my best to give the simplest version of the long, complicated route I ended up doing.

1. Did you receive an email from the vet school that included your PUID and Career Account set-up password? It also should have a link to "Officially Accept/Pay Deposit". You'll need to click on that link to activate your account. You shouldn't have to worry about actually paying the deposit till 4/15th according to the letter.

2. Once you click on that link, you'll be taken to the "Accept Admissions" page and it provides the steps and links needed to complete the activation process. Now if memory serves me right, there are going to be prompts about setting up your account, including email. VERY IMPORTANT (hint: this is where I went wrong initially), WHEN ASKED ABOUT EMAIL, KEEP IT ON THE FIRST OPTION - PURDUE OFFICE 365 MAIL. It's from there that you can access your email more easily [in my opinion]. The link to Office 365, along with myPurdue, is at the bottom of the page with the slogan "We Are Purdue" and the social media icons. I don't use the Outlook link because I literally get an error preventing me from logging in.

Once all of the activation steps are completed, it should be smooth sailing since you'll need to do the new student checklist items. It can take several minutes for things on the system's end to finalize, but once it does, you should have access to your email.

Please let me know if you, or anyone else following this thread, needs additional help with this or if my directions are not clear. I literally did this in the most complicated way, so I did my best to give the most direct instructions possible, including a warning about the mistake I made which resulted in a lot of time and headache in order to fix it.

I mostly lurk around in the background when I come onto the forums, but I'll make sure to check back every so often so I won't miss any questions.

Good luck, ChasingDVM2023 and thread!

This was super helpful, thank you so much!

Just a heads up for y’all: financial aid packages are starting to be released onto myPurdue accounts. I just received my today .

Have a great weekend, everybody!

This was my fisrt year applying and I have been denied by all 5 schools. I have an application review with purdue this week. Has anyone gone through this with purdue or other schools? The email states I should have questions prepared, so what types of questions should I be asking? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Good luck to you! Don’t give up. I have not been through this, but you should ask questions based off various components of your application. Ask them about grades, test scores, and experience. What can you do to improve each individual aspect of the application. If you had to write essays, I would ask them how they compared, if they can tell you anything about your ROLs. Just ask questions trying to figure out which part of your app held you back.

Removed myself from the OOS alternate pool for anyone who's looking to get off the waitlist. Good luck guys!

Does anyone know if the class is full yet, particularly for OOS?

Does anyone know how easy it is to get in state tuition as an out of state student?

Sorry for the long delay in any form of response. I'm sorry to say that the class is full. We have a mentoring program call Big Sib and it was from the list that I found out for sure.

I'm sorry that things didn't work out this cycle, but hopefully you'll be joining us next year.

Thanks so much for the reply! I really loved Purdue and was still open to that opportunity but after visiting Oklahoma state, I think it is a great fit  Goodluck on your first year and wish you and the class the best😊
