SDN Pre-Vet WW 10th Anniversary Game Thread

I like this post, esp because paws iirc previously had PSV village. I was looking at Paws’s list and feeling like there was maybe some sheeping of Barks, since they both had IvyMoose very village (surprised me, but I’ve skipped like a third of the thread so maybe it’s actually not a surprising read) and shared a lot of other village reads, but this gives me confidence she’s re-evaluating her reads

I don’t particularly like this post and the next one by Vis. It’s a whole lot of words for logic that doesn’t really track. I feel okay about Paws, that’s not what’s bugging me, but Paws commenting on PSV’s behavior there and it making her feel icky - anyone could do that. This isn’t an example of villager reevaluating their reads compared to, for example, a villager tossing their reads list after several misyeets and looking for wolves in their village bloc. And Vis knows that.

Yeah agreed, Ivy’s inconsistency in her explanation of what she meant by there being people throwing fluff under the bus (seemed like she couldn’t keep the story straight regarding whether she was reading it as bussing or as wolves aggressively pushing a villager, and why). Still, I know I’m prone to reading relatively new players as more wolfy

I didn’t like this either for multiple reasons, but especially because I don’t feel the bolded happened and this is twisty.

sunshine: a LOT of back and forth with AM, but idk how to read that. feel like it could be wolfy or villagey, but I think it's leaning slightly towards village side of defensive. if sunshine is village though, I'd love to hear more from her since her suspicion of AM looks very nice in hindsight

Sunshine being defensive is NAI, also, no one gets village cred for suspecting AM as has been discussed already.

Before I start rounds this morning, I wanted to post some more thoughts.

IvyMoose … leaning village, or hard village.

A few players that I’m inclined to trust more in this game, because they are leaning village to me right now anyway (alley, PSV, violet, samac), have outright suggested Ivy is non-woof, in more than a few posts, and based on how things went down with fluff a day or so ago.

So, right now, I’m feeling more comfortable leaning village for Ivy, unless something drastically changes in the near future.

I'm pretty sure I know what she is and we don't need to be looking at her.

Melmo, Ivy is the exact last person I would yeet right now. There's like 25 people left and I am almost positive she ain't it.

Shorty ... leaning village.

At first, shorty’s rhyming posts sketched me out even though they were creative and entertaining.

Eventually, the rhymes became distracting, and I started to quickly skim through them, due to lack of time. Plus, shorty seems to devote a lot of time on the thread - sort of obsessively - by her own admission. She’s a fast typist. I could barely keep up with her posts. So the rhymes grew more distracting because they prevented me from trying to get a basic feel for shorty - i.e., was she a pesky woof, or was she a poetic villager?

But then again, I noticed in many of the rhyming posts, shorty chose to include bits-and-pieces of stuff that seemed plausible to me, and lots of posts also seemed applicable to gameplay, or something that sounded familiar to me.

If someone knows a lot about historical data from other WW games, shorty’s rhyming posts may have provided useful info for them because the hx data from other games was familiar to them. But it did not sound familiar to me, and I'm not a WW game historian at all.

I do NOT know about the hx of many past WW games. The only thing I recall (with fondness and chuckles) was me pretending to be an “owl” and then talking like I’m a freaking human owl in my very first noob game. I did NOT even know what WW meant at that time. This means I’m super-clueless about WW history from past WW games, and how that historical data might apply to THIS WW game.

Back to shorty …

Although shorty obsessively prodded and pushed players for info and reasons icw their posts, it didn’t feel as if she was being woofy. Just didn't feel that vibe. Besides, she pushed plenty of players, and not just a few.

But, unlike AM ...

shorty’s pushing seemed to feel different. It didn’t feel woofy to me. On the other hand, AM’s pushing seemed woofy-pushy to me - as if there would be negative consequences if AM did not get the answers she demanded from other players. To her credit, AM is a good player, and a very likeable person. But, in this game, AM’s tone sketched me out … and it felt like she was dragging her fingernails across a chalkboard, and I wanted the screechy noise to stop.

So, I'm leaning village for shorty right now.

I wanted to make a reads list but there's so many people and I've had a bunch of schoolwork come up recently. So here's a partial one, just based on whoever has been catching my attention.

alley: village lean, has been providing good arguments with good reason
mkg: village lean, I think the fluff vote/questioning yesterday was well justified (even if wrong). I also felt like her reads from yesterday made sense, too.

I haven't played enough to know this, but does anyone know if village!Vis is very question-oriented? Objectively, this puts her in the wolf leaning area for me. I like yeets with solid reasons.
alissa: solid neutral. Felt like I could read some posts as being either wolfy or village. Would like to hear more from her today (although I understand she's busy IRL)
zenge: need to look more into, but agree that the reads list gave me BoWWling alarm bells

Other villagies: ivy, shorty, PSV, samac
When I have a little more time, I want to look into: april, sporty, cray, Zenge, barks. That might not be until D3 though, ugh. I'll try my best to look into them today.

As for the "are stumps 3P" thing, I don't know for sure (obviously), but I don't think they're a threat. So I'm ignoring fluff and true read-wise.

I also just read those vis posts and it sounds like a lot of “echoing.” Granted with this many players it may certainly be reasonable to bring up the same things as other players, but she normally at least usually has some kind of nugget that strikes me as unique or insightful. Also I know it’s hard to keep up this game or they may be IRL business but I’m not feeling any better about her at the moment.

I've never played with sunshine before (...I think? we might have been in a speed game together) so I'm hoping she's able to contribute more since she seems to have good instincts (assuming she's village ofc, wolf lies are a no-no). I was also trying to say that sunshine's defensiveness felt slightly more like a village defensiveness than a wolf one, but she's still mostly neutral to me, sorry that wasn't clear before.

Despite not getting “cred” for the argument, that’s definitely a sunny meta, not just with AM, to be Uber defensive. It gets pretty intense too, that got me in trouble in a game trying to defend her. I’ll believe he did it, I got a result someone tried to look at me. I don’t know if he was trying to trick me and catch me in an “aha moment” or if he just had a misunderstood night result.

Despite not getting “cred” for the argument, that’s definitely a sunny meta, not just with AM, to be Uber defensive. It gets pretty intense too, that got me in trouble in a game trying to defend her. It’s triggering for me too. I know what happens when I trust someone completely and they’re forced to betray me. Vis only saw that from the mod side of things, so even though she witnessed it, it’s a lot more upsetting for you and me. I finally got my revenge when I tracked wolf!Samac during BoWWling, but I don’t think I will ever trust anyone as much as I did in RvB. I learned my lesson.

So I just skimmed through Crays posts from yesterday, and here are some things that stood out, or I’d like some more info from cray, or feedback from others
One of the big feelings I came away with was that there was a lot of fluff/general game talk that wasn’t wolf hunting. To be fair I will acknowledge she was behind on thread, but some posts just kinda felt unnecessary and like she was posting just to post.

I'm the first villager to line up to get some 3P out of the game, but have to admit I'm always afraid that whoever is like "HAAaaaayyyy there's 3P in the game!!" that they may actually be 3p themselves and revealing the info as a matter of WIFOM trying to establish to village that it's not them. Basically I don't really want to out how you know this in case it's you or someone you're in communication with that is a village PR, I would hope if this was a one time item that led you to this info that you would claim that, but at the same time when people have so much info on 3P I can't help but ask how. Also wolves are sometimes pretty good at knowing 3P is in game by various mechanisms. So like, thanks for the info, but like, begs the question how you know this.

Also I remember one game I concluded something based on something that ended up a red herring (unconvertible mason in a game without conversion) so yeah, just wondering wtf is going on.

I wouldn't be surprised that this multiball game has even more balls than just AM and wolves.

So these two are more game solving in nature, but so far no actual wolf hunting

Wait so like, we're fairly certain a wolf genny wouldn't make this mistake, right? Trying to decide if this is a mistake that is AI, like should I lean genny more village for this, a wolfy WIFOM move on purpose, or like a wolfy TMI slip? I could imagine a wolf making this mistake but not genny.

I’d really like to hear more about this potential slip from genny, and cray, how it impacted your read of genny, is this still something that pings you?

This kinda bothers me but not sure if AI for Paws to forget who her vote was. Some wolves will forget because they're not really invested in the vote "another day another dollar another villager to misyeet" attitude, but as village I frequently forget.who I voted for, so just not sure what if anything this means from Paws.

Would disagree with floundering. I haven’t agreed with every read per se but that doesn’t mean you’re not doing a good job.

Yes, you’ve been village reading me pretty consistently which I haven’t batted an eye at, I just batted an eye at the confidence there when I’m used to you having a level of paranoia about me, particularly since RvB. That’s all.

Yes, those are the feelings I got when rereading some things.

Sporty: Has made some comments throwing light shade (like genny posting a lot of names at once) but doesn't pursue these further, otherwise had been mainly focusing on MJ. Squinted less during EOD posting

Capri: flying under the radar a bit, posts were mostly fluff, then kinda agree with what someone else said about how she said she noticed MJs vote thing and how they felt weird

Cyndia: got squinty at how often she was changing her reads (fluff wasn’t wolfy.. then she was shortly after, sassy!genny felt village then later didn’t), felt like she didn’t believe in any of them

Alissa: had some weird feeling posts about shorty that felt like trying to raise suspicion while also saying she didn’t find them suspicious, also had a hedgy post about fluff

I like this post even though I don't necessarily agree with each read
