Is the deposit paid via the portal for vfp? Also, anyone know if there are grants offered for the program or is it purely private loans?

I've also accepted and deposited my seat for the VFP program. I paid the deposit through the portal. Also, I believe from my knowledge that it's purely private loans (Sallie Mae) since it is considered an "undergraduate" program and not officially a grad school program.

I haven’t officially done it yet but I’ll be declining my seat for fall 2020! Hope this helps someone enjoy the sunshine for me guys!

I just submitted my application yesterday, and was contacted this morning that they have received everything. How long roughly did it take for everyone to hear back about an interview?

Thank you! Do u by chance know if let's say you paid the deposit but ended up changing your mind about the program...will they refund you??

It took 7 days for them to receive all my documents and to be granted an interview. I actually had my interview this morning !
Congrats! That’s exciting! How was your interview and how did you prepare?

Has anyone made their deposit? If so, did your balance say $400? Or was it blank? And did you do it through the Northstar payment thingy? Thanks

Mine is also blank. I emailed Krista to make sure there wasn’t an issue with my account. She said it won’t show a balance online and to just pay the $400 deposit as stated in the welcome pack. Hope that helps.

It wasn’t bad ! When I got there I had a form to fill out that asked my academic strengths and weaknesses, personal strengths and weaknesses, what personal experiences will help me as a vet, what diversity I bring to SGU. Someone posted earlier all of the questions and those were the ones I was asked. My interviewer liked to talk so it was more of me interviewing her lol. I definitely recommend having some questions to ask them. Good luck !

Hey there guys!
Does anyone know what is the best way to search for off campus housing? I have been looking through facebook but wanted a more reliable source such as another website. It is pretty hard doing it through facebook lol

Thank you in advanced.

Sgu has an off-campus housing link on their website. It has a list of properties/company contacts.

Hey guys!! I’m trying to set up my security questions so I can change my password from the temporary password for my sgu email, but I’ve tried on 3 devices and the drop down menu isn’t working to select security questions. Is anyone else experiencing this??

I went through Copal Real Estate - they were recommended by a Term 2 friend of mine and they’ve been great to work with. I messaged them through their Facebook page and told them what I was looking for, and they sent me a whole slew of possible places.

When did you guys apply to start? I'm applied for Fall 2021 but I'm trying to see if I would still follow a similar timeline on decisions as you guys or if I would have to wait til late this year or early next year to hear back since I'm not starting for a year.

I applied for august 2020 start but was waitlisted and accepted for Jan 2021 start

Anyone who is starting VFP in a week, have y’all gotten any notes that may help or heard any insights on how to succeed?

Hello,
I’m hoping someone can explain how the terms work. Is it back to back, as in if I start in the spring the next term is the summer or is it the fall? Can you apply to start in any term?

So the terms/semesters start in August (fall) and January (spring). You get a 4-5 week break after the August term and around a 3 month break (Mid May-mid August) after the January term. You can apply to either start in the spring or fall term. SGU does rolling admissions and you can apply outside of the VMCAS cycle if you want to.

.... I also didn’t understand the tuition. I live in the US and want to know how much I should expect to pay each semester (term)?

The tuition is comparable to out of state tuition prices. I think my current tuition is around $22,000 per semester and that is with the school fees. This does not include living expenses such as housing and food or airfare tickets and books. Once a year you also have medical insurance fee if you're insurance doesn't cover being on the island and that is not included in the price I stated above.

I appreciate everything thank you. I have two more questions, hopefully you can help. Do you apply for a visa? Also how do you get around?

Grenada does not require a visa (airports in the US will sometimes try to tell you that you do, but you don't). You will get an immigration letter from the school to present to the Grenadian customs officer and they put it on file that you are a student, so every time you come back you just have to show your student ID.
You can either get around on the island by the bus system that the school has set up or you can rent/buy a car. I decided not to have the extra expense of a car and just use the bus system. I have been able to get to all the necessary places easily (occasionally it is a bit of a hassel with the timing of the bus schedule depending on where you live). If you want to go somewhere off the bus route there are many locals who have taxi services and are very reliable.

Hello everyone! I have been accepted to SGU this cycle. I am leaning heavily towards choosing SGU. I would love to hear from recent graduates about your experiences, what you loved, what you hated and why you chose SGU over Ross or US schools. Thank you in advance for your insight and advice!

Also what opportunities did SGU open up for you that you may have not received at other schools? Did anyone have difficulties in acquiring a job in the US? Thank you again!
