StardeWW Valley - GAME THREAD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
We have cultists here. They're thinking with us and participating in our discussion. If they talk more maybe something about their tone can even help clue us in. It's the best we got going
Oh, I'd definitely be using that conversation as material to scumhunt. And they'll know that, and we know they know that.

But if we sit back and don't even try, I don't think we can win this.

By emulating the pose of the thinking man, shorty indicates a profound philosophy. The color yellow is associated with fear in many cultures. Her answer is simple and brief, as is dogma. The hints are written all over her response.

GUYS I know the answer!

We just need to band together to finish the community center then the cultists will be banished

Okay I'm leaving now
No that's true! For what combats the insidious nature of cultism better than a sense of natural community and belonging? By Jove barkley, you have saved us

Okay I'm maybe going to ****posting now we'll see bye guys maybe

It still would be because the Cult has a factional victory when they're 50% of the remaining players whether or not the cult leader is still around (unless the moddesses did screwy stuff with the rules).

Village doesn't have that factional trigger.

So if it's one wolf, one villager, and two normal cultists left, cultists win on the spot.

But if it's a wolf, two villagers, and one cultist, it's still anyone's game.

I'm assuming that the wolf in our midst will understand that, and so I want to give them the tools they need through open discussion.
I was going to respond to this in depth but then I don't know how good of an idea it is to let the wolf read my diary entry on what I think the best play here is  but I guess the crux of the issue in my mind is the wolf still needs misyeets to win, and they don't have to kill Cult overnight to avoid triggering a Cult win, unless we **** up lol

Actually I think we need to yeet the mods
That's it. Everything has been chaos this game, so up is down and opposite is correct. The wolf represents itself in a mysterious light. The opposite of light is shadow. And who has shadow in their username?
@Dinashadow

@Dinashadow
But it's too late in the game for me to still be tunneling Dina

It's really annoying that my brain keeps telling me that the people talking to me and being helpful must be good and the people being quiet and not helping must be bad. Because I know that isn't how this game works, but it's what I want to be true

It's likely a little column A, a little column B

I guess you get a bit more comfortable with it the more you play with people and feel out their style. I'm always going to butt into everything. genny tends to do more drive by commentary. Zenge lurks. Sporty does her catch-ups and sometimes a bunch of real time stuff. Most people don't have drastic enough shifts in their activity/involvement between affiliations for it to mean anything. But low-posters are easier yeets than highposters for basically what you said - even knowing those playstyle things are NAI, it's a lot harder to vote someone out when you feel like they've been active and trying to solve the game.

I think scum has as much reason to be active and involved and trying to have some control over the situation as village. It's just hard to fight the inclination to village read people for that kind of thing. And then sometimes you end up overcorrecting like what happened with cubs, where someone seems too involved and that makes them scummy.

Idk I'm just rambling, didn't I say I was going to bed?

I was just going to yell at you for that

I went to hunt down that game that the Cult won but after reading the ending it was kind of a Cult variant so idk how helpful it'll be but it's here

There was never open knowledge of the Cult so it went...well

2/7 voting
@genny , you are winning.
Missing: not PSV or stouty

Vote closes at 9pm EST (8pm CST/6pm fantasyland) on Wednesday, 2/9 (~14 hours)

After sleeping on it overnight I'm anxious that genny is a villager being offered up for slaughter by a cultist who knows that she isn't around to defend herself

there was a lot going on at the time so I’d like to believe he enjoyed the game. @Melchizedek
oh, so many shenanigans that game. It was super fun, but also super stressful lol

I love that you still have the tuxedo-wolf profile pic

I still want to see what genny's thoughts are but the reasoning there feels tenuous other than it just being a process of elimination thing.
I can't remember which thoughts I've said and which thoughts were just in my head now.

Wolf POE:
Barks
Stoat?

Cult POE:
PSV
genny
Stoat?
Sporty??

So I guess…. What’s the argument against PSV here? And is it any different than the minimal argument against stoat?

I’m welcome to hear it because I totally had the wool pulled over my eyes last game by her, but if the argument is on the same level, I’d favor voting stoat.

But you all know that 😅

Whereas I would argue that we are in a bad enough situation that you might need to put a little stock in my stoat-senses

I can’t put stock in something intangible when there has never been a completed game where you guys are opposite affiliation.

Dubz’s Genny Way is something I’m willing to listen to on occasion and I’d potentially be convinced to follow some vet opinions on AM, but I tend to reserve those for 1) players I can’t read well and 2) following players who tend to have a GOOD read

Okay I can't really argue with the fact that my reads have been terrible this game, I'm much better at the math and game theory side of this than the "what are the humans thinking" side 😭

I don't think that's what she's saying. Just that your stoat read hasn't been tested.

Sorry, I reread my post (before I saw your comment) and didn’t mean you have bad reads!! I was saying that I will follow reads when I have a bad read on the person and someone else tends to be good at reading them. I just didn’t phrase that well

Or stoat reading accuracy, I should say
I totally understand, it's just hard from my perspective to look across the room at a little dork curled up in her chair with a messy bun and not think "if she was in an evil cult she would have been cackling for days"

But I also get how that is kind of an unfair gameplay advantage and should probably be disregarded

Wanna talk about the time Dubz was visiting me and she was wolf and I was village?

I don’t.
