Came in the mail today. Rejected again.

We should be able to just give people our spots though lol.
I have a friend who got in as the number 7 alternate 2 years ago. I think it probably just depends from year to year though. I don't even know how many alternates they normally put on the list...
Any chance someone could show me around the town sometime in April? I may go down to look at places to live and stuff, but I know nothing about CS. 😳
Maybe someone can answer this for me. Does anyone know if any of the alternates actually make it in or how many alternates there are?
Last year they called up to #15. I know this cause I was number #16. Luckily I didn't have to do the wait list this year.Maybe someone can answer this for me. Does anyone know if any of the alternates actually make it in or how many alternates there are?

Do any of y'all already live in CS? I might be able to rent a town home from someone I know, but if that falls through I really need recommendations for where to look for apartments. I have a med-size dog and 2 cats that I REALLY want to come to vet school with me, so animal friendly places would be good. Any suggestions?
I noted that a few people are looking for place to live. Myself and a friend who got in from out of state are looking into getting a 3b/3b duplex or house with a yard. I have a dog too, so that's not really a problem!
Yes. I don't know if the vet students will have the same fanaticism as the undergrads, but in general people really like A&M.if it's someplace people love
Family like is my impression. I don't get a competitive vibe from the vet students, and it certainly wasn't there in undergrad.if it's family-like or competetive
Well I'll most likely be choosing A&M over Edinburgh, and certainly picking it over Kansas and Ohio (my other two choices; though Ohio I'm only on the waitlist, high up on it though). It does come down to money, but A&M and Edinburgh are kind of on extremes. Edinburgh is ~$240,000 where as A&M is ~$140,000, and that's before interest. Also there's some money issues with getting to Edinburgh itself as well as the issue of if my visa is rejected, then I'm royally ****ed and would have to apply AGAIN next cycle. I figured if nothing else I could do a residency at Edinburgh, and that lasts about as long as vet school any how. So while I'd prefer to go to Edinburgh, because it's Edinburgh, I'll be perfectly happy with A&M as well.if people would have chosen to go there even if they had other options to choose from?
I'm kind of curious about something - I don't seem to notice the level of excitement in this thread that I've seen in some of the other school threads... Are people excited about going to A&M? Or it is more, "ho hum this is my in-state school and it's cheap"?
I got less of a sense of the students at A&M when I visited than any other school and I just wanted to find out what the overall attitude was - if it's someplace people love, if it's family-like or competetive, if people would have chosen to go there even if they had other options to choose from?
I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way, it wasn't meant in a bad way. I'm just confused and stressed out about where I'm going to go. 🙄 I liked A&M, especially TIPS (wow!) and it's my frontrunner right now, but it's also the school that's farthest from my family so I just want to make absolutely sure....
Also, if I'm not from Texas, will I feel like an outsider?
Thanks!!
First of all, HUGE CONGRATS to all of y'all who got in this year!
I'll be applying to A&M this coming app cycle, so I was hoping to get some input on a couple things from you experienced folks. First of all, 100% of my vet experience (~2000 hours) is with cats only, and I obviously have limited time to diversify. Do you guys think it would be better to spend ~6 weeks at another SA clinic that sees dogs, or do something totally different like LA/exotic/etc, or some combination? I was leaning towards LA, but I would feel stupid applying with no dog experience. 🙁 (I have owned dogs and volunteered at shelters -- just no stuff with a vet.)
Also I have the option of taking my last pre-reqs either fall or spring. Do you think they would rather see my fall grades for stuff like Physics II and non-science pre-reqs, or for upper division Bio stuff (and save the pre-reqs for spring)? My grades are good so far, if that's relevant.
I would really appreciate any input you guys have. Pre-vet advising in nonexistent at my school, so I have lots of love for you SNDers! 🙂
