Mine changed to none as well. Don't know what that means. The suspense continues.

Me too!

Shannon said for those of us who interviewed 2 weeks ago we'd hear today yes, no, or waitlist. We'd get an email if waitlist or yes, nothing if no and we'd be notified by snail mail. Since I've heard nothing I'm nervous, but it's possible they're behind since it seems nobody else has heard anything either.

Yeah from this forum it seems like we shouldn’t worry to much if we don’t hear anything. It seems like others that were told a “decision” date still go in or waitlisted days over a week later. It’s hard not to be anxious or think the worst if we don’t hear today though

Has anyone who was waitlisted in the beginning of January heard anything back at all? Or has anyone been waitlisted at all and heard if they got in or

My status has changed to "none" on aadsas also. I would also remember that they mentioned 15 business days on this interview day, and with mlk yesterday, I would say we should hear from them most likely Thursday or even Friday. Good luck everyone!

I recently sent in my application in Dec... long shot but didn’t get into my state school so paid for more apps with deadlines still open. I had success with getting an interview at Tufts for next week. What are my chances at getting an interview this late? 3.7 GPA and 21 DAT RC 24 OC25 and TS 20 PAT 21...QR16. I just don’t know how late they interview and how long it would take to hear back.

Send your app. About 2 weeks after they receive it write a letter of intent and send it. You have a high chance to interview, they go till April i believe

did anyone interview in January and got accepted vs waitlisted? As in, at this point do you know if the class is full and LECOM is only offering waitlisted seats?

@Stanelz @joker16z so in the matriculation packet, they request the results of the background check and drug screen to be forwarded to Ms. Phillips' email. Do you all remember how to do that? I've completed both, and there is never any type of option to forward results. Help!!

I personally do not remember having to do this step. It was sent automatically for me from the drug test place. Same with the background check. Sorry!

I know jokerz posted a picture of what will likely be yalls color but I found a picture of the actual scrub color. Heres what our current D4's wear and what yall will likely be wearing

Nice. That's way darker than the other image. Thank you for the info.

I don't remember this either. Since the school set up the drug/background checks with a 3rd party it automatically sent it for us.

The picture was from the online store where you will buy scrubs from, but they do look better in person! On that note, don't buy your scrubs until you receive the email with the group buy link and discount. There's specific approved brands/styles along with embroidery.

Hi! So my status in the lecom portal says to send final transcripts with all grades, and AADSAS status has been changed to “waiting for additional information”. I’m a bit confused because 1) my transcripts are all in AADSAS. 2) I’ve received credits from a bunch of different schools in addition to my actual undergrad so I’m not sure if they want me to re-order them all individually. 3) I emailed admissions and asked for clarification and where to have them sent and have heard nothing so far. Does anyone have some insight for me here? I’m getting nervous that it will soon be too late

Hey guys! How Uber friendly is the entire area from Sarasota airport to Lecom? Is it easy and reliable?

Just double checking, but did you recently graduate? Are you certain it shows the degree conferred on the transcript?

My flight was from Sarasota (srq) airport and uber rides were readily available. I used uber twice on interview day. Make sure to download Lyft just in case!

Nope I graduated in 2017 and completed 2 post bac courses, the last of which was finished in the fall of 2018.

The only other thing I could say is to wait. I mean you've done all you can do.

Does the school provide any printing services? How do you like having textbooks online? I personally don’t like reading on the computer for so long..
The school does offer printing in the library but there is a fee for it (cash only). Most of the apartment complexes around here do offer free printing in their business centers so I'd suggest that as an alternative. Some people do have their own personal printers but I rarely print anything so I didn't buy one.

Having our textbooks online has its advantages and disadvantages. If you like the aspects of a physical book, I believe the library has at least 1 copy of most of our textbooks that you can check out while you're in the library. I have heard of "blue-light blocking glasses" that help reduce eye strain from staring at a computer for too long.
  • Advantages: You don't have to carry your textbooks around. In PBL we have to search a lot of terms quickly, so the search feature is definitely more helpful than any index could be. You can highlight in multiple colors and add notes. All of your "modifications" sync to the cloud and to all of your devices so for example, I can read my textbooks on my laptop, phone, and tablet. At the end of the 4 years, we own the textbooks. So as long as you have them downloaded to your computer, you can refer back to them for years afterwards, but you do lose access to the online website.
  • Disadvantages: It's a software so it's going to run into issues at some point like periodically crashing, which can be very frustrating. If you're using the application (as opposed to the online website), you have to have the textbook downloaded to your computer to open it. This can be annoying if you need to look up something in a specific textbook in PBL, but have to wait for it to download.

For laptop requirements- "windows 7 or higher is required" and "Apple computers not supported by LECOM IT"

What is LECOM IT? Are we allowed to use macbooks?

Do we have to show proof of antivirus software? Not really needed for Mac.

Nope, you never have to bring your computer to IT unless something happens in the middle of an exam. The "required" tech specs are really just suggestions. They say no Macs because the IT department is mostly trained on PCs. Most of us have a laptop and/or iPad. For PBL, I would strongly suggest a laptop.

Same boat, but no email or anything either. I was reading previous years threads and it seems like waitlist at best.

  • Library is open from 7am to 11pm daily. (med school has similar hours if you want to use theirs)
  • Utility bill depends on how much energy you and/or your roommate(s) use.
  • To be frank, you're going to need a lot of money up front. You need to move down here, sign your lease (app fees, admin fees, deposit, first month, and renter's insurance), set up utilities (plus deposits or installation fees, if they require it) and then money to live off of (food, gas, etc.). If you're going the student loan route, you don't get your disbursement check until 2 weeks after the official start of classes (like every other college) so it'll be the end of July before you can deposit that check.
    • On that note, you do need to account for your dental kit. The price should be listed on your COA sheet. The kit needs to be paid off in full before you can receive your dental kit. So that "big" check you're expecting, is basically cut in half and you don't get the next disbursement check until January.
  • Most students have 1-2 other roommates and live in the apartments on LWR Blvd (3-4 minutes from school with morning traffic)
  • The area around here is safe. I haven't heard of anything happening nearby. The fire department is right down the road too.
  • Parking permits are free. You'll pick them up before registration day.
  • There are no transpiration methods to/from school. So you will either need to drive or ride a bike.

When was registration day? A week or two before the first day of classes? I am oos so I am trying to see when I need to move in by.

Also, what is the D1 schedule like mon-fri? I heard it’s more relaxed since classes are year round... not 8-5 classes?

Thank you!

For us, registration day was the Friday before the first day of classes. It was just a half day and I don't remember too much else. I moved down 6 days before registration day so I could start to get to know the area. Other people move down around then so it's a good time to socialize and make friends.

Our D1 Fall schedule was M-F but as far as time goes, it all depends on which group you're placed into, A or B. You'll find out which group you're in either registration day or orientation week. They adjusted the schedule of courses for our class so it was a little heavier course load than previous years had. I'm not sure if it'll be the exact same for your class but it will either be posted to the portal or emailed to you.

It's not so relaxed when you start. You'd have to constantly study to keep up with Perio, Dental Anat, Histo, Gross Anat. On top of that you have lab.
