Anybody interviewing next week on the 18th? Also I'm getting there a few days earlier anyone have any good recommendations on things to do in the area?

I was there a day and a half before, and spent about a whole day in Tampa which is a 45 minute drive. Otherwise the beach (pending weather), and they have outlets near by too
 
This is strange. LECOM just sent me an email that my Supplemental application has been processed. I paid and filled that out in July and just received notice of this today? Did anyone else have this strange delay?

It took them a month after my app was complete to update my portal AFTER I emailed them. So they’ve got everything submitted as of end of August when it should’ve been end of July. Now it’s been almost two months since then and I haven’t heard a word.

I guess I'm not the only one, but in your case it was just one month in between. Mine was 3.5 months, so I just thought that was very peculiar ... 😕

I know what you’re saying. My point was that I could’ve been in your situation if I hadn’t emailed them. My portal changed and included all of the requirements with the date the same day that I sent the email. Who knows how long my app would’ve sat if I hadn’t contacted them when I did.

With all the money we have to spend to apply, I’m of the opinion that we shouldn’t have to remind schools to process our applications properly and in a timely manner. I got tired of waiting and found it incredibly odd, and also a bit frustrating, that my app was considered complete the same day I emailed them. We’re paying for a service and shouldn’t have to wait and wonder.

And I agree with you, wholeheartedly. When I saw the e-mail, I was met with surprise and anger initially. I feel as if my supp app was just forgotten or something after all these months, but what can you do? I just have to shrug it off for now. Sigh.
 
if you have already interviewed: how long was your letter of intent that you have to email to them? like an essay/personal statement type of format?

Also got this email today. I thought they had disposed of my application a long time ago lol. They hadn't updated the portal at all until today and my app was completed mid July. I sent them an email about 2 months ago bc I thought it was weird and it was ignored

They give you a carving knife, block of soap that’s meant for carving, an object to carve out, and then they say go. It’s a pretty relaxed time. People are all talking and laughing.

Yeah its nothing to worry about, go slow and you'll be fine. Its not weighted heavily because several students I spoke with said they destroyed their soap when they interviewed.
 
Just had interview this week. Was completely caught off guard by the soap carving so that sucked.

Interview itself was nonchalant and easy. Seemed others struggled to be comfortable in group setting but it was not difficult at all to maintain your composure and half the questions were opinions anyway.

Tour was nice. Good facilities. Lots of clinical experience for D3's.

Full year curriculum isn't great but the PBL aspect doesn't seem to be too challenging. Sucks taht they moved away from P/F

Not at all but most people just haven't ever carved soap before lol mines was a atrocity but I felt that the interview went great!

did your folder items ever update on the portal? I have been waiting almost 6 weeks and my portal still has not updated the folder items and still says "We received your supplemental application. The review process will begin on your file. You will be notified when updates are made".

Email them and they will most likely update it the same day. At least that was the result in my case. If you scroll up a few posts someone else also had this issue.

I had the same problem. I just emailed them today and they finally put my application under review right after I emailed them?

Quite frankly that is really annoying that we have to remind them to process our application. Were they just going to leave it sitting there if I didn't remind them?

Not really leaving me with the best confidence for this school.

Same problem with the supplemental...

When you say they put you under review after emailing them, what was your status before they put you under review? And do you mean your AADSAS status or your portal status?

I have had my supplemental filled out in August and my portal status on the LECOM website has said "We received your supplemental application. The review process will begin on your file. You will be notified when updates are made" until today where it no says it is being sent to the admission committee and all my folder requirements are now filled out as well.

My AASDSAS portal also changed from none to under review now that I emailed them.

They supposedly put my application under review right after I emailed them but that was two months ago. I'm wondering if I should email them again and ask them when my interview date is. Haha. Better yet, I'll just email them and let them know when I plan on coming for an interview.

Mine still says "we received your supplemental application..." But my AADSAS status says under review. But my portal status actually changed from what it currently says to "Incomplete/missing supplemental" (or something like that) 2 months after I submitted my supplemental. So I re-submitted it and finally got the confirmation e-mail. It sucks that this stuff happens, but there is always going to be room for error I guess.

Did you guys just email admissions@lecom? because I'm having that same problem
 
I emailed [email protected] yesterday.
They changed directly my status “ The Admission committee requests a transcript with final grades from all course”
 
can I take my luggage to the interview and will they store it?

Same exact thing happened with me. Submitted beginning of Aug...got the received email...no update on my status or file...emailed them yesterday and all of the sudden everything’s been updated. Still no reply to my email though. It’s really ridiculous that they have to be asked to process and send the application to the admissions committee. Now I feel like I waited way too long before contacting them because I didn’t want to be that “annoying applicant” but now I’m kicking myself for not emailing them earlier.

I wouldn't sweat it. As I stated earlier, I emailed them back in August and haven't heard anything since they updated my status and folder items. I really am left wondering if I should email them letting them know that I'm ready for an interview. Seems the squeaky wheels get the grease with their adcom.

I just checked my AADSAS and my status for LECOM says "Application Denied". Did I just get rejected without an interview? I'm gonna call tomorrow..
 
Checked my aadsas today and my status changed from under review to application denied

when did you both submit your app and when were you verified? Sorry to hear about that btw, I also got rejected by 4 other schools without an interview 🙁

Awwww, I thought only nova and ucsf send out rejections :|
I sent in my app late July I believe and app was processed in late Aug.
 
Just got an email from them saying that my supplemental application has been processed despite me filling that out in August.

Really not leaving a good taste in my mouth when it comes to my opinion of this school. Should have used the money I used to apply here to instead apply to another school that wouldn't have to be reminded to process my application.

The last cycle I applied in July'17 and submitted my payment and got verified at the end of July'17. In October'17, I decided to give a call and ask about my application. Guess what, she said my application will be placed under review from that day! I asked was there anything wrong and she said that only she is in charge of making sure everything is complete in the application before she can send to the committee. And that she did not "notice" mine being complete. I was in shock and did not say anything more.

Just makes me worry about all the schools I've applied to that I haven't heard from. W/ 2,000+ applications, errors are bound to happen but this seems to be a pattern at least at this school. I hate to be a nuisance, but now I'm going to call and check my status as well.

Just got the same email an hour ago and submitted first week of Aug. I feel the same way.
HAHAHA I would be speechless too...like how do you even reply to that response.

What does your status on the LECOM portal say, if I may ask?

There have been a few other schools that sent out pre-interview rejections already. I got rejections from UCSF, MWU-AZ, ASDOH, and UPitt
