I went to my interview and I completely butchered the soap carving. The way I tried to carve it was completely wrong and my soap just broke apart lol. Anyone know just how much the soap carving is worth when being considered?

Plays almost no role in your acceptance unless it was absolutely horrific..even then your interview itself is weighted much heavier. I dont think the soap carve ever kept anyone out that was going to be accepted anyways

My status on LECOM’s portal says the Admissions Committee has not made a decision on my file, and will let me know when a decision is made. Since it is so close to December 3rd, could this potentially lead to me being waitlisted? Sorry for the dumb question, very nervous about this!

No. It's not December 3. So, it's not going to change until at least that date.

For those who received the update on LECOM portal about "A decision has been made. You will receive an official letter by mail in 30 days." Do not fear. I have read back in the threads, and although sometimes applicants received a rejection. Some with this update received an acceptance on Dec 1. Some received acceptances Jan 1. Others still were put on the waitlist and then accepted. It could mean anything. IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL IT'S OVER, Y'ALL <3

It’s similar to any other dental school. Last year the school got 3,312 applicants and gave 105 spots, roughly 3%.

If I remember correctly, Shannon Phillips estimated it to be about one third of interviewees being offered acceptances. This was a pretty rough estimate, of course. 4 more days! Stay patient, relax, and remember that they send out another wave on January 2nd.

Also, @MidEastDentalStud keep in mind this is the final number of matriculating students, NOT the number of acceptances given out. I'm sure (like many other schools), many spots are declined due to students choosing other universities. With LECOM being a private school, I'm sure this is the case quite often because of students receiving an acceptance to state schools.
