Anyone here got information about how many they interview out of state and how many offers?

This doesn't really answer your question, but at the interview, they gave us a postcard that says their class of 2022 is 81% Ca Residents and 15% Out of State! They mentioned that around 1 in 20 people who apply gets an interview (if I can remember correctly)...

For those who have interviewed, what does your AADSAS status say?

My interview is going to be this Fri, I will be attending the research and clinical excellence day on thur. anyone has the same date?

On July 30th I received this email "Thank you for your application to the UCSF School of Dentistry. This message is to confirm that your application is now complete and will be submitted for review. The review process can take 4 - 6 weeks. Due to volume of applications, our office is not able to respond to individual application status inquiries by phone or e-mail. Please monitor the status of your application by going to the AADSAS website. Thank you for your patience and we wish you the best throughout the process."

I still haven't heard anything. My AADSAS portal still stays they are reviewing my application. Any thoughts on what's happening or if I should do something? Thanks! 🙂

UCSF lets applicants know their decisions right away. If you haven't heard from them, then that is still good news.

Hello all!
For those who already had their interview at UCSF, do you guys recommending writing the essay in the traditional 5 paragraph format or just one simple paragraph?
Thank you in advance!

Write it however you feel. There’s no right or wrong. With that being said, I doubt you’d look at a one-paragraph finished product and feel like it was “right”

I don't know much about the assignment, but shouldn't we target quality over quantity? I feel like 5 paragraphs would be pushing it esp since we only get 30 mins.... I was thinking more along the lines of 2-3 paragraphs.

Hey guys, does anyone know how many acceptances UCSF gives? I've heard it's around 150, but haven't been able to confirm. Out of the 270 interviews they conduct, 150 seems a bit high (55% acceptance).....

For those that have interviewed, did you have any questions that went unanswered? Was there anything you wished you had learned more about but didn't have time to discuss?

Has it been nailed down yet what percentage of interviewees are accepted? I interviewed in Oct, and was given the impression that they interview to accept. But I have heard from others that they offer invites to a little less than half of interviewees.

I think it was the new dean that said they invite 1 out of 20 applicants. So if they have 2000 applicants, expect 100 interviews. Don't know if he misspoke since they have around 90 seats (need to double check). 10 extra acceptances doesn't seem to be a realistic buffer if people decline.

They have nine pre-December interview dates and each day they have 24-26 interviewees.
That means 216-234 pre-December interview invites.

They will give out 90 acceptances first on Dec. 3rd.
So basically you have 41.6-38.4% of acceptance chances if you had/will have an interview with UCSF.

I do hope they interview to accept, but the number doesn't seem right.

Also, they mentioned they invited 1 out of 20 applicants, but this doesn't make sense either.
They need 4320 applications to make 1/20 sense.

For those who interviewed, is the interview with a current student 1 on 1 or 2 on 1? Some have said on the SDN interview feedback page that the interview with the student is 2 on 1, but I wanted to know if they've changed that.

Interview with student is 1 on 1 this year.

did everyone who interviewed received a letter in the mail regarding applying for financial aid?

I didn't receive the financial aid email, I'm not sure what that means... if anything at all. My interview date was Oct 12

hmm that's weird. I interviewed that same day and received the email. Try calling/emailing them.

I interviewed 10/15 and have not received an email either. I was told at the interview we would be receiving it via snail mail? Maybe the timing is different for everybody.
You know... come to think of it, I did receive paper mail from them. I had already filled out my FAFSA, so maybe just did not pay to much attention to it.

its more than just FAFSA though. There 2 other forms you have to fill out. The paper mail gives you the log in information.

Does anyone know if UCSF is sending out acceptance package? Thanks!

Did everyone get the UCSF Dentistry Opt-in Email? Almost had a heart attack

If UCSF is still contacting me today about some financial aid papers, is that a good sign? lol.... or will they work on everyone's financial aid regardless of admission status?
