Frustrating game for wolves, as you can imagine Cray and I felt doomed right from the start lol #sketchwolves4lyfe But it was still fun!

I was just wondering if mods could give some clarification on Cray's role PM:
You are Michonne a wolf. As a master of zombies your night kills will send the number of walkers you desire to attack players each night. Some night deaths may not result right away. As you know though, no one is safe in a world of walkers so you have katanas which willl help, but more than 5 walkers and you may be in trouble.

It was mentioned after the game ended that less than 5 walkers sent would just infect/turn someone but 5 or more would kill them...am I interpreting that correctly? If so, Cray's role PM is horribly misleading. I guess we could have asked for clarification earlier, and mods did hint later on to really go back and re-read the role PM, but when it states "but more than 5 walkers and you may be in trouble" it really made me think that if Cray ever sent out more than 5 walkers, she herself would be in trouble...which is why we never sent out more than that until you suggested otherwise.

Also makes me question if the people who WERE attacked would have died at some point since it says some night deaths won’t happen right away (I assume that’s our people converting to chaos?)
But then there’s the healer who could heal them so then I also get even more confused

It sounds like they were saying she had the katanas for her own protection against walkers, but if she were attacked by more than 5 it would be bad news bears.

Would have been interesting in a larger game to see how the horde might have grown.

Sorry for the confusion, we should have clarified earlier on in the game. WZ is correct that the katanas were to be used if Cray was under attack by walkers, but if it had been 5 or more then she wouldn't of been able to save herself from that. We purposefully left the specifics of how many walkers she could send vague but I can see that being confused with the end portion of her role description.

It would have depended on whether or not they were healed and how many walkers attacked them. More than 5 walkers was automatic death for anyone. Less than 4 and it would depend on where they were bitten and if they had been healed or not.

So the wolves were kind of at a disadvantage then since essentially some of their kills could be “rezzed” if they had been healed... especially since it wasn’t clear that the more than 5 walkers part of the description wasn’t sending out 5 walkers to attack someone, it was being attacked by 5 walkers you created?

Interesting game. I do want to point out that chaoszombie KC called out 2 wolves her last day 😛 Also my stories were not 100% legit but I honestly thought it was true right up until when I was told I converted to zombie-status. Then I had to keep pushing it because... no one likes to get lynched 😛

Also for sure was hoping Skimblary was bluffing when she asked for ammo :smack: that'll teach me

So did we ever even get up to 5 infected people at any point during the game where this situation would have been made possible? That's the only way Cray could have been attacked by walkers, right?

Possibly they could attack her with any number of walkers but only would kill her if there were 5 of them??? Idek

So were you trying to kill me or convert me?

I had been pming with the mods about ammo (spelled amo in my role pm) and I asked if they could be used offensively, and was told “not yet” or something like that, so I was hoping if I got enough bullets, I could use them offensively. Unfortunately I never had more than 2 bullets.

Idk if they were necessarily at a disadvantage. Chaos took out the protector for them 😛

There was still only one night (if I recall) without an actual death (besides my protection of cheezit), and that was a night that a wolf forgot to submit an action. So they weren't missing out on kills.

Ski is correct. So had there been 5 successful turns of villagers to walkers and they collectively decided to attack cray she would've died. However if kc would've chose to attack her then kc would've died. This game was originally designed for 30 players so there were some in game adjustment we had to try and do to balance everything because although we liked the walkers we didn't want them to be a main focus and still wanted it more as village vs wolves so healers could only heal and stop a turn the cycle someone was infected. After they turned medical help was useless

At one point we had two walkers, KC and Snowy, who could have chosen to attack anyone (Cray included), but we didn't get up the the 5 walkers (that were players in the game) that could have killed Cray. Cray could be attacked by those who had turned at any time with whatever numbers of walkers we had (if any). The "5 or more walkers and you'll be in trouble" was part of the role description for everyone who had weapons (most of the players).

So Cray had zombies she could use to attack players, but the other two wolves had weapons they could use to shoot players dead. I see how Cray's role description ending is a bit confusing, but we didn't want to tell her outright exactly how sending more or less than 5 walkers would affect the game. We didn't always allow for all wolf actions to be used each night, because then we could lose 3 players a night, but they had options they could choose from. The wolves had a rough start to the game with one of them being lynched d1, so we tried to balance the game back out by allowing multiple hits occasionally (only one night, I believe because Jboo died the next day), and I asked Cray to reread her role description, resulting in multiple people being attacked that night.

My only piece of critical feedback:

Try not to do this.

I know it's tempting, and in some cases it may seem like it's going to make people happier...but it's a slippery slope.

When the objectivity of mods is removed, or when rules shift on players during the game, eventually the players won't really respect you because it's hard to trust that the game isn't being rigged (even if it's with the best intentions). That's not a game that is fun to play.

And good game play -- like a seer choosing to seer the right person on D1 because of solid interpretation of events -- should never be discouraged by re-"balancing" in the opposite direction.

It's kind of like golf -- people should be allowed to play from where the ball lands.

Convert. I could only convert people at that point (as I understood it). Only person I killed was WZ with my arrow(s).

Fun fact: I asked for ammo but had no gun, I was afraid that the wolves would realize I was unarmed if I didn't ask on thread.
Dis is also why I asked for the things
Too bad some NOT REALLY CHAOS CRAZY UNDEAD PERSON decided to murderize me

IT'S NOT BETRAYAL IF WE'RE NOT ON THE SAME TEAM

EVEN IF YOU WEREN'T REALLY CHAOS
You were one of the people standing up for me... until you stabbed me in the back!

If you think of it like a baseball game with the home team being the village and the away team being the wolves, with the mods being the refs/umps and the spectators being the fans... chaos is just the naked streaker running through the field trying to avoid security while providing fun and entertainment for everyone 😛

Ya, if that streaker then stabs an unsuspecting first baseman with arrows and eats their heart...

You were streaking? How did I miss that?!?

That's an excellent point, thank you for bringing this up. I'll make sure not to do this in future games

The games always turn into real breathing things. Despite planning. It’s crazy when you mod (as well as play) but I still adore modding. I do it for the players :biglove:

So I had seen Seasons 1-6 previously and started rewatching them when this game started. Finally started Season 7 and guys, Negan is a SUPER dingus! Like omg, why didn't you all warn me?! AAH. OMG I AM SO ANGRY LIKE EVERY EPISODE (except the one with the tiger that one was good).
