anybody know the average matriculant mcat for middletown campus???
where did you hear that?? Sounds too high for a new campusI heard it was around 30-31 avg
On my interview day at Middletown I was told that the MCAT average for last years class was 2 points lower than Harlem. I believe Harlem's average was almost 31 so Middletown's average was about 29.where did you hear that?? Sounds too high for a new campus

I hear that's expensive but good. I personally stayed at Da Vinci hotel (cheapest priced the day I went because it was the NYC Marathon) and that was like $187 or something. From there, walking to the subway and everything, took me about 15 minutes to get to the schoolAny reasonably priced hotels near the Harlem Campus? How is Aloft Harlem specifically?

I am in the exact same situation. I have been complete since December and have not heard anything back.Has anyone gotten a ii more than 10 weeks after receiving complete email? Complete since December 8th and nothing yet :/ is it hopeless at this point?
I think thank you emails are pretty typical if not, then at the very least they are polite 🙂 I wrote thank you notes, but obviously mail takes longer...Did any of you guys email your interviewers afterwards?

When I interviewed at Harlem, they made it a point to tell us to get the interviewers names and showed us where their email addresses are located. I think the only reason they would do that is to hint to us that we should write something to our interviewers, like a thank you. So its definitely expected....Unless a school posts on their admissions page about notes being unnecessary, it is always highly recommended and worthwhile to send at least an email saying thank you within 24 hours of your interview (not only for schools, but for jobs in the future too). Also, some schools will print these emails and add them to your file, so if you had more than one interviewer, add a couple unique sentences to each email so that you are not sending a generic email to them both. Remember, the interviews for Touro were very quick, so you'll want to give yourself every advantage possible.
Accepted to Middletown campus today! Interviewed Feb 2.
Did anyone else have a really crappy interview experience at Middletown?
1. For "lunch," they offered us a yogurt with a bananna rather than a normal lunch like every other school. It might sound stupid, but it's a little rude to not serve any sort of decent lunch in the middle of a 5-hour-long day.
2. All of my interviewers were extremely rude and unprofessional in how they behaved towards me and how they spoke. I did not get anything close to this at my other interviews.
3. The atmosphere at the school didn't seem all that happy and it felt like a lot of people didn't want to be there.
4. Prior to the interview, they botched my interview date which could have turned into a big issue if I wasn't on top of it.
I don't know, of course I'm happy for everyone who got accepted here (I haven't received any acceptances yet), but so far this school seems really sloppy and I feel like I've gotten several red flags from here already.
my experience wasn't nearly as bad as yours, but I can't lie, I had similar impressions as you had. I wasn't impressed overall and felt I'd be happier somewhere else, but an acceptance is an acceptance and I'm happy to have it.
Does anyone know if Harlem has a second look day?
3.36 graduate school GPA with a MS in Biology (I finished undergraduate almost 6 years ago) and 31 MCAT. I also was unique in that I previously lived in Middletown for 6 years. My advice to anyone interviewing here is to say that you'd like to practice medicine in this area since that is one of the reasons the school was builtCongratulations. You mind sharing your stats?

My interview was professional, however, I did have the good cop/bad cop thing.2. All of my interviewers were extremely rude and unprofessional in how they behaved towards me and how they spoke. I did not get anything close to this at my other interviews.
They weren't many students there when I interviewed but they all seemed happy.3. The atmosphere at the school didn't seem all that happy and it felt like a lot of people didn't want to be there.
There was confusion about my interview dates as well. Maybe it's an issue with their computer systems (they told me their database was down).4. Prior to the interview, they botched my interview date which could have turned into a big issue if I wasn't on top of it.
You are talking about the Harlem campus right? I am actually going to try to look at apartments at the end of May and the first couple of weeks of June. I really want to sign a lease by May/June time, but I won't actually be moving until the middle or late June. I am looking at the upper west side, or basically anywhere that is safe, cheap, and close to the schoolI'd like to know when and where everyone is starting to look for apartments! I'm considering the 4 week anatomy course so I would try to be in the city by the second week of June to settle in and explore, but also trying to avoid that increase in rent for the summer...
Yes I'm talking about the Harlem campus. Ok that makes sense - yes I've also been looking in the UWS/UES area too... I suppose if I want to move in beginning of June, I'll start looking end of Apr! Harlem or middletown? Pm if middletownDoes anyone here know of any current students emails that they met while on the interview? I had one but I seemed to have misplaced it. I'd love to ask a current student some questions.

I am pretty sure I wrote them down but I am currently at work. When I get home, I can take a look and send them to you through PMAh sorry! I meant Harlem 🙁. But thank you for your offer! Hope you are enjoying Middletown!

Also, not trying to call him out, but I asked @DrEnderW a lot of questions and he has been incredibly helpful
I feel ya... :*(I actually really liked Middletown and the interviewers were really nice. I liked the staff a lot. Will be turning down my acceptance here for a west coast school. Kind of sad about it because I actually liked it a lot.
Hey welcome to Harlem! I don't mean to butt in, but I am looking with great interest at TouroCOM-NY because I live here. If anyone would like some suggestions on where and how to find a good place to live in the area (and on a budget), feel free to PM me.Yes I'm talking about the Harlem campus. Wow, I'm so glad I wasn't the only one.. So many red flags!! and this is coming from someone who was recently accepted for the Middletown campus.
Less than stellar clinical rotation sites/affiliations. No 3rd or 4th year programs centered on-campus. Poor atmosphere of the school, cafeteria was empty, library was empty, study rooms were empty. Where was everyone?? Literally the only people I saw were the student-tour guides. It was as if they strategically placed themselves in specific rooms that they knew where the next group would be going. All the off-campus student-tour guides hated living off-campus, but the facilities aren't the best. In one of the dorm rooms, there was a stink bug by the window sill. Also the rooms are all singles, which is good for privacy, but everyone's door was closed. I didn't see a soul walking down the hallway or even in the bathroom. Also no lunch, I was starving!!! I had breakfast at 6 am before starting my drive to Mtown, and I didn't get to eat again until 2 after the interview.
The biggest red flag: one year at this school costs $80,000!!! WTF! I always knew it was expensive, but when you think about all the above mentioned details about this school, in addition to the fact that its a newer school/campus in a rural area, it's ridiculous! It is so difficult for me to imagine that anyone would pay full price for this school unless their parents are well-off or if they literally weren't accepted anywhere else...
That said, I do think that there are some nice things that Touro does offer to its students. The facilities are very new, the sim lab is awesome!!!, and just about every faculty member I met was super cool and cares about the school. I had a great interview and felt that I made a great impression on my interviewers.
I have been waitlisted at a few other DO schools and one MD school, so I was super excited to finally be accepted somewhere, but I am really hoping to be accepted elsewhere. Having graduated from a big middle-tier expensive private school where no one talks to each other and everyone graduates with a mountain load of debt, I don't want a repeat; been there, done that!
Even though I am grateful for the acceptance, I feel like I am still playing the waiting game - waiting for my financial aid package that is...
