🙁(( ikkk the wait is so nervewracking

If you aren't holding an A elsewhere, then you along with others have the benefit of time on your side, as this school starts later than others, allowing for a few more weeks of potential WL movement. For others, I think this week likely the last before starting elsewhere, might also bump yall up some spots when that happens.

Not in the GroupMe, but 230 as of now. That means what, at least 70 open seats if anything?? All that aside this has to be one of the most unprofessional proceedings I have ever seen, and calling seems to be a humiliation ritual haha.

I was on call with them earlier today, all I got out of the admissions rep was "as of right this moment that we are on call, there aren't going to be drops today." That was around 11am EST. But are we holding out hope for a massive drop this week or no???

I saw that too, but it's just so late into the summer where it's scaring me a bit. And the fact they pushed the interview season back too is insane

For many people, this is like the last week before they have to start orientation somewhere else. I wonder if they are waiting for that to happen first, although the thought of them doing that is brutal.

No idea - I feel like a very small amount of people got off their waitlist? Could be wrong though. Also their groupme is 237 currently and I think their class size is 240 🙁

At this point, we can expect the worst and hope for the best. No point in giving up all the way at the end, it's not over til it's over! As for the group me, people who already went to different schools could've just never left after joining. Positivity til the end!!!!

totally agree, I've submitted multiple job applications and got interviewed as well as scheduled my mcat, still hoping for the best but have to plan everything out

Just my guess on what happened, I think that they got a super high yield on acceptances given —> seats held. I can’t think of any other reason why your cycle is so weird.

Also, I wouldn’t put too much stock in GroupMe numbers. Not everyone who is accepted knows about the GroupMe.

One thing I can say, I believe some people have been getting off. Every time someone leaves the GroupMe, someone else joins very soon after. It’s happened a few times which is why I would say it’s probably not coincidence.

If you don’t have an acceptance I’d still hold out a tiny bit of hope, but tbh considering orientation is in a few weeks, I’m pretty sure the class is pretty much set at this point. Obviously take that with a grain of salt and there can certainly be additional drops, but that’s just my opinion.

No, it’s 300+ OW alone. My class had like 326 students in it by orientation. Our class is huge.

So I wouldn’t completely loose hope because there’s always a chance someone will drop last minute or the “class being full” could also mean they haven’t met to discuss who to take off the waitlist (since it’s unranked idk). I also will say that they did say the same thing a month ago and people got off a bit after. Take what I say with a grain of salt because I’m delusional.

well... this sucks. they really couldve told us this weeks ago instead of keeping us in the dark. the way they respond i dont know if i can believe them anymore. at this point im gonna assume that we're never gonna hear back from and might as well start making plans to move on cuz this is just stupid and lowkey kind of expected. even if they were to meet up "to discuss" theres literally 2 and a half weeks before orientation starts i cant believe theyre gonna give out acceptances anymore. just my thoughts, kinda disappointed

I feel like most schools have started/will start this month. This means less ppl on the wait-list next month, which is good! but also less schools for currently accepted to switch and drop their seats last minute for.

In summary, not looking good. I think the fear of losing grad loans for the future classes are compelling people to start this year over top- choice/MD deferments and reapplications.

Yea I feel like they’ve been giving out conflicting information or like pretty vague answers for the most part. I spoke to a lady about two weeks ago and she said you can get off the waitlist anytime from then to August 11th so there is still some time
