I called again and the person I talked to doesn't know when movement will start. They also said they don't really know about waitlist timelines and that it isn't up to them, it's up to the committee and they don't receive updates from them. The person I talked to seems to regularly get calls about this (they were also really nice to get back to me after my call got disconnected while I was on the line to speak to someone) and they kept reiterating there's just not much information.

They really just don't know. I think all the small pieces of information we've gotten may have been things they've heard in passing or little tidbits they overheard in conversations. I just feel even more unsure of what to expect at this point.

They were super understanding of the situation and offered a lot of encouragement. This was the first admissions person I had an actual conversation with. They were really nice about it and it seems like they wished they could provide more info, but I think most of them just don't get updates on how the waitlist is moving.

It really is just luck and a waiting game (depends how long you want to wait) at this point. I mean, any movement is bound to happen at some point.

Same here. I can't just sit around waiting after this week. It's so crazy seeing this cycle compared to the cycle of past years. Not one single report of someone getting off the waitlist anywhere. Not on Reddit, here, admit.org, or anywhere else. These places are small sample sizes of course, but there has always been at least ONE report of someone getting off a waitlist.

Well I’ve got no information on that, but based on what some others are posting, they seem to be about to send out the email about reaffirming whether you want to remain on the WL or not. If they do that, that most likely means there will at least be SOME waitlist movement. Last year there wasn’t ANY waitlist movement until they sent that email out.

No, but there are a few people leaving and joining here and there. Not sure if it’s WL movement, it could be because it usually happens right after someone leaves. But then again it could just be people joining who have already been accepted previously. Class size is 300+ and there are only 218 people on the GroupMe, so I’d guess that a bunch of the people joining are previously accepted people.

Nah, you can only join the GroupMe if you have a confirmed NYIT acceptance or are an upperclassmen. Could be that some of them are upperclassmen but I don’t recognize the names… although I wouldn’t recognize 98% of the names in my class considering we have 300+ people in it🤣🤣🤣

2:20 today in my email. The long wait from February to now for my top DO choice but it's here!

I also know everyone is going to ask again so:

• 3.6 overall (4.0 postbacc)
• LM ~65
• Average MCAT (Sorry, I don't want to reveal this)
• Interview invite 1/6, interviewed on 1/16
• July 6th deadline for deposit

Me too. Each day that passes I continue to mentally prepare myself to move to another state. I'm trying to tell myself that maybe it was meant to be and that maybe school costs less in another state and that maybe that will save me money in the long run. Maybe we hear back today (fingers crossed) but im just preparing myself for the worst now 🥲
