2024-2025 New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM-Jonesboro)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
IIRC the historical norm from prior years is that NYIT waits until mid-October.

I haven't, I interviewed on 07/15

I called the admissions team. It looks like the admissions committee met late August and will be reaching out to those accepted by the end of next week. If not, we’ll have to wait until the next time the committee meets since they review applications and accept applicants on a rolling basis.

Did anyone who interviewed in mid July for the Jonesboro campus hear anything back yet?
Nothing yet, last year they did not release decisions until October, but they also started interviewing in August. Hoping that since interviews started 1 month early this year, acceptances will also happen 1 month early in September.

Hi everyone ! This is my first interview and i’v been seeing mixed messages online saying the interview is structured with varying stress and others are saying it’s just a low stress convo with basic pre-determined questions so I am curious what was it like for those who recently had an interview 😊 was it open/close file and if they asked questions outside the basic predetermined ones?
Simple questions. 1-on-1 conversation.

Does anyone know if there is a way to check on the status of your application? I used the link where i submitted the secondary but it just shows me my secondary application responses.

I have not seen a "status" tab on the portal, I think we have to rely on them emailing us updates.

Hey does anyone know how long it takes to hear back from the school post-interview?

I was told that the Adcom meet once a month to go over applications. So depending on when your file gets pulled it could be anytime from October to December when we will get a decision!

Are there any current students I can speak to? Also is there an accepted student group me!

Anybody hear back from an early October interview? Mine was Oct 1st
Nope, I think it will take around 4-6 weeks to get back a response. I interviewed on Oct 3rd and adcom said they only met once a month so we have to wait for at least a month or so.

Has anyone visited NYIT in person? I am curious about the school. I am not able to visit but would like to get an overview of the school and community. Thanks.

Thank you for sharing. By chance, did you have any ties to the rural midwest or delta region? I know they look heavily on rural applicants

I didn’t have ties to the midwest or delta region but I do come from a rural area from Texas and have travelled to visit family in a very rural area in Mexico that had no electricity, water, stores, or other resources in the mountains
