the last times were near 9....I don't think at 9 since there are so many

I didn't get an acceptance... i don't think they were mailed out

(at least thats what I'm hoping)

for the sanity of us all, I am keeping my fingers crossed that they haven't released them yet. I mean.. there are like 10 of us posting on here right now.. you would think at least one of us would hear from them if they were sent out..

Right, not to mention the people just watching and waiting, hopefully they're just taking their time. Do you think anybody in the admissions office watches this forum?

If I was in Admissions, I would watch this forum every day just to get a good laugh at how crazy we are. I think DrOrganic is an Admissions person just playing with us all... 🙂

Yeah, for sure. It would be morbidly comical be an admissions officer on the forum right now.

I am going to medical school!!! Yahoo! I just checked and had an email acceptance waiting from Tucson.

Since I am a reapplicant and UA is the only school I've interviewed at so far, you could say I am pretty relieved and super excited!!!!

To everyone who has yet to hear: I know this process is so discouraging, but please don't give up! Try not to let the process get you down--just spend your time doing things you love and fight for yourself. You WILL get there someday 🙂 All the best!!!

Congratulations! That's great news. Do you mind telling us when exactly the email got sent?

some one should call and find out how many were sent, when the next ones will be sent, and if phx sent them

Well, my money says that they've got these sorts of things automated - ie, they feed a program a list of Names/AMCAS ID's, and it spits the emails out. So, if he got his at 9:02, then odds are if we haven't heard anything today we probably aren't going to. Best of luck to everyone who got in today, or that will waiting for the next set of acceptances (like me).

So at this point in the game, about 50% of acceptances have gone out and that includes people accepted to both schools? Are acceptances going out in March too or are we waitlisted at the end of February?

Congratulations!!!! Pasdechat28!! And good luck to everyone moving forward to the next release date!!

Tucson info:

56 of the 110 positions have been offered (ie - 56 offers made)

Next acceptance wave: 2nd week of February (week of the 9th)
Final acceptance wave: 4th week of February (week of the 23rd)
Rejections/waitlist: Sometime prior to March 15th (they aren't certain on the exact date)

Phoenix isn't picking up the phone, and I'm absolutely terrible at leaving messages 🙂

Thanks, frontalrelease, for the info! And I think if I remember correctly quite a few people (like 65) were taken off the waitlist last year to both schools? So I think we'll hope that U of A will be our valentines this year and show us some love ;-)

Praise the lord!! I got into Tucson (email recieved at 0900)!! However, Phoenix is my first choice- I am not sure if they have sent out any acceptances as yet today but I really hope I get some good news from them sooner than later! Waiting for an acceptance has been very difficult for me so this is quite a relief. For those of you still waiting I am sure this is hard. Hang in there. It is only a matter of time....!!

Hi folks. I'm reading all the dates for acceptances on this thread. Are these for folks that interviewed early? I interview in mid December. Should I chill out and wait it out till March? I'm going crazy at the moment.

Hey jaySundevil505, I interviewed within the first few weeks of when both campuses started interviewing so maybe you should not worry as much? From what I remember, on my interview days at each campus, the admissions' people had said that people that apply/ interview early will have the same chances as those that do later because they will keep enough seats open with time. Hopefully, this will be the case for you. They may have just started reviewing the recent interviews now that the holidays are over.

jaySundevil505 -

Don't worry about it. I interviewed in October/November, and have yet to hear anything. I'm sure there are others in the same boat. Keep in mind, for graduate schools, this is fairly early (most other programs with similar submission deadlines don't tell you ANYTHING till March/April, earliest). We're still 2 months away from even a waitlist, so keep up the spirit!

I also interviewed the first week or so at both campuses. However, we were told that anyone whose application is complete (including interview) at the time the committee meets will be reviewed. And every time they meet, if you are not chosen, they review you in the pool again the next time they meet.

I'm in!!! I am so ecstatic! I was really expecting to have to re-apply due to my less-than-optimal MCAT score, but I guess numbers are not everything -- I am extremely happy they are not. Again, I really appreciate all of the advice regarding MCAT re-take prep materials, but now I guess its a non-issue. Congratulations to the rest of you who also got your good news today. I am excited to meet you all in fall -- if you are going to the Tucson campus that is.

For those of you still waiting with overwhelming anxiety, it's not over for you. Though this may not be accurate, I believe they have only given out half the seats. That means there are still a lot of seats, one of which could very well have your name on it. I'll be excited to see your posts if/when you do get in!

That doesn't make sense... Final acceptance is in 2 waves? They only take like 10-15 per wave, so let's say 80 offers have been made by that second Feb date, and even then, a lot of people accepted will go somewhere else? Over half the class is yet to be filled then by that last wave.

I'm trying to work....but I can't help but keep looking at this thread!

Congrats Regna!!

Im looking forward to meeting everyone who is Tucson bound. And half way is only half way.... lots more seats to go, plus wait list spots. Keep the faith.

They only TOOK 10-15. This wave was more, as the next few will be I'm assuming. This is according to the conversation I had with the Tucson admission person this morning. I would imagine that they don't shoot to exactly fill the class anyways, money would be they offer up to, but maybe less than their class size, knowing that they can pick and choose from the wait list.

To the recent acceptees - congratulations! It's must be great to have all the hard work pay off :-D
