8:50 AM Interview *insert upside down smiley face here*

Hi all! I didn't even know this thread was a thing! I'm happy for everyone that got an interview and wish us all luck! This is my second time applying and got an interview! Mine is at 2:40!! Is anyone else so nervous they feel like vomiting?!

I was so nervous for my interview at Michigan and Illinois. Florida, not so much, because it was open file and I felt like I knew what to expect from that.

Just remember that everyone gets an interview because the school feels you'd be a great addition to the class of 2022 (wow time is flying)!

WHO ARE YOU!?????!!!!!!
YOULL NEVER FIND HER!!!!!!

(fun story: I was in at least two of your rotations)

Jesus. Now I look like an idiot. Granted, there were like 8 people who I had like 6 rotations with. So that may narrow it down some.

I have a guess though. Do you wear a grey sweatshirt with an ink painted horse on it?

:hungover:

Honestly I'd prefer as early as possible though. Get it done and over with so my anxiety isn't building up all day.

Yeah, haha it is going to be brutal with the time change but it will be nice to not have to stress about it the rest of the day!

Anyone else going without parentals??

My parents are coming down with me but I'll be waiting for the interview alone. ‍♀️

Mines at 1:50 and I'm going by myself🤢 weird question but its okay to have a purse with you right??

Meant to throw my hat into the ring to help with interview day, but I forgot to respond to our email in time :arghh: a lot of my friends will be interviewing you guys, though!

You can still volunteer to give tours if you want 😉 I know you didn't respond to that email either. Lol

I'll hopefully be a first year by the time I should have been a 4th year 🤣
Glad you heard back!

It's so weird that I'll be a fourth year by the time you guys arrive to campus. Seriously, where did the time go (not that I'm complaining)

Dam. Want to tell which rotations?
Not gonna tell which rotations, but I'll tell you that the girl with the aforementioned sweatshirt WAS in one of the rotations with us. Possibly both. 😉

Last year was flat balmy compared to the year I interviewed. I was vaguely jealous.
Last year was wonderful. No snow, nothing.

I actually ate **** in the parking lot the morning of your interview day. I remember thinking "Today should be the one day they make sure the parking lot and sidewalks are well salted" and then I wiped out

I am going to do some serious stalking this weekend (after I hopefully pass this midterm lol)

How is everyone preparing??? I'm so nervous! This is only my second interview ever for vet med but my first at U of I. Any tips or hints at what type of questions they ask??

Is everyone aware that there's an entire page for the interview day that will answer a lot of your questions? I feel like any emails you have gotten would have provided that link but maybe they didn't?

Basically just practice your speaking, that's the best advice I can give! The website gives you all the hints you need, really.

I totally have read this, but I am just so nervous and freaked out and feel like no amount of information I read is enough! 🙁

I totally get how you feel, trust me. I just don't think knowing the types of questions asked will actually help you all that much, even though it seems like it would. What really benefits you is the ability to think on your feet and put your thoughts into coherent, intelligent sentences. If you're coming with formulated answers to certain types of questions, the interviewers will be able to tell for the most part.

Hey! I'd suggest just think through your experiences and what brought you here... have someone ask you random questions and answer them! Honestly, preparing just to talk about yourself is the most valuable thing I did to prepare, but I can only speak for myself. Just remember to breathe, do your power stance before you go in, and remember - they WANT you to be awesome... 😉

I just gave my interview spot!! I hope someone who really wants it gets it! 🙂) Good luck everyone!!! I know you'll all crush it!

Does anyone know about how long after the interview they get back to you?

are the interview questions sort of formally and informally categorized? like veterinary related questions and then questions about you?
