I haven't heard from Penn either.....dun dun dunn
Congrats on the acceptances!!!
Does anyone know how many applicants Penn had this year and/or how many more invites will go out?
Ditto on both- congrats!!! Starting to get a little worried...has anyone heard anything about a large animal/New Bolton day?
I'm posting this in both the Davis and the penn threads because I am hoping to get feedback from students at both schools:
Ok so now that I've been accepted into both it's UPenn vs UC Davis for me... I am completely torn since I love both programs. I'm OOS for both but Penn will turn out to be about 100k more over 4 years. Penn is ideal for my SO since we are from NJ and it would be nice to stay close of friends and family. Davis would be an adventure and I fell in love with the program and the town while I was there! Does anyone have any advice that will help make my decision easier? Any current Penn students??

Well I am comparing the overall budget for each school that they give us which seems to include for both tuition, housing, food, books, etc. aka overall cost or amount you are able to take a loan for. Davis does include health insurance. Both are supposed to include all costs but I will have to compare them side by side again to make sure.I'm wondering where you found this information. On their website chart UPenn adds up a lot of other fees that UC Davis doesn't mention (including health insurance, which you might already have), as well as other miscellaneous fees under the 'non-resident budget,' which might be why you claim it will end up costing $100,000 more to attend UPenn over four years. A lot depends on where you live, transportation, insurance, and technology you might already own. Be careful about comparing the two tuition rates when they do not include the same items. It seems a bit drastic that it would cost over $100,000 to attend UPenn than UC Davis.
Establishing CA residency means you are unable to visit home more than a certain amount of days a year. Just something to keep in mind with family on the east coast.
Yeah I'm not in the kind of financial situation where 300k is pocket change. 🙂 Lol yeah ironic you should post because I just got my ohio acceptance today too and now I'm throwing that in the mix. I also loved it there and it is definitely another cheaper option. Gah such a big decision to make! I didn't think I would have this hard of a time deciding - hell, I never dreamt I'd have this many options!Honestly, I would say go the cheapest route you can go. I know you have a few more acceptances besides Davis and Upenn. I don't know what kind of financial situation you are in, but 300k (Penn's TUITION alone) will leave you scrambling after graduation. That's easily 500k after interest. Just...make sure you think about this decision carefully.
Thank you! This was very encouraging =)I think they're really early in the process, only a few rounds interviewed so far. Keep in mind that a) they interview well into March and b) are NOTORIOUS for keeping people waiting because they're Penn. But plenty of people that have been made to wait are there now. As for me, I'm just focusing on the opportunities in front of me 😀
Nada....Has anyone heard anything from U penn recently?
CongraT!I JUST GOT THE CALL
I CAN'T EVEN BREATHE
UPENN CLASS OF 2018 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Friday 1/10!CongraT!
when was your interview?
Does anyone know if they're mostly focusing on IS or OOS right now or if they tend to mix them? I'm IS, and getting a little ansy since Penn's the last school I have to hear from.
Sorry to hear I won't be meeting you, but best of luck at Cornell! After many days thinking it over, I decided to decline my interview. I was accepted to my IS, Cornell. I was totally excited and surprised to be invited to interview at Penn. Its a great program but the difference in tuition makes a big difference financially. I hope someone on here gets the spot. - Good Luck!!
Finalizing Spring semester.... For UPenn pre-reqs it says 3 biology courses... I did gen bio 1&2, and a genetics course....does that count as 3? Or do I need a gen bio 3? Please help! 🙂
I am OOS, but I know some IS have been accepted too.For those of you accepted, are you IS or OOS

Hey guys, Need some advice.
In March I'm going on a once in lifetime trip to Italy with my BF's Family. Its mid March - I looked back in the UPenn c/o 2017 thread and looks like interviews ended in March. Still haven't heard anything from Penn even though its my IS.
So basically the question is since they only offer one interview date should I e-mail Admissions and let them know I'll be out of the country those dates just as a heads up? I mean they really can't expect you to leave 3 entire months open "just in case" you are offered an interview - life happens. Plus basically once in vet school we're all gonna be too busy to travel and after we're all gonna be too poor to travel.
So Opinions greatly appreciated.![]()
Does anyone know what to wear if you want to stick around for the student happy hour after the day of interviews and events are over?? I'm assuming I should bring a change of clothes, so I don't look silly in my interview outfit. Unless it's fine to wear that!
yeah, I just wore my interview outfit 🙂Many wear their interview outfit. I wore mine both years. But if you want to change, you can wear whatever you want. There are usually dogs at happy hour, so changing isn't a bad idea.

Something like this happened with me for Ohio, and like 2 days after I let them know, I got a rejection letter. Just be careful. I said something like "I know I have yet to be offered an interview, but wanted to let you know that I won't be available these days for an interview. Thank you for your consideration in allowing me to interview a different day if I am privileged to be offered one......."Hey guys, Need some advice.

I'm LA (equine) OOS, nothing yet for me!! 🙁
I wore my short riding boots (polished) with my interview suit and stayed like that for my interview as well. It really depends on what you prefer. I saw people walk around in muck boots, cleaned of course, and then change into interview shoes but plenty of others that didn't change. As long as you look presentable and sensible for the places you will be walking you will be fine! Good luck 🙂For the large animal / NBC interview and tour, do people usually wear interview attire as they're walking around, and then just change their shoes when they get inside for interviews?
