Hey everyone!

Right now, I'm a junior in college. I live in Massachusetts, but University of Vermont School of Medicine is my top choice for med school. I would really appreciate it if anyone who has gotten an acceptance there could tell me what your stats were/what kind of applicant you were. Also, am I doomed because I'm not a Vermont resident? Thanks!

Vermont fills nearly 3/4 of their class with OOS as they only get 85-90 applicants (!) from their own state every year. If your stats are in range, meaning 80th percentile MCAT and 3.6+, you should stand a reasonable chance, especially if you are from the northeast. It is highly advisable for applications to purchase the MSAR, which has all this information documented for every MD school in North America.

Based on the discussions on the UVM Class of 2019 group thread, it seems like they accepted quite a few OOS-ers from Massachusetts. Do apply 🙂

the MSAR can give you better info than any one person's anecdote!

Echoing the other responses here but definitely apply, make sure to relay your interest to them as best you can. Good luck!
