I saw a similar thing where I moved up 17 spots from last Friday.Requested rank today and seeing 15-16 change only. Was hoping for more with UW AL at 33.
Process itself is brutal and now more waiting is our only option it seems. Wish more people will update SDN for this school. Not seeing many people withdrawing and last WL call here reported for rank 8-11.I saw a similar thing where I moved up 17 spots from last Friday.
Are we expecting the bulk of the WL movement next week? Or is this pretty much it for the rest of the cycle?
Don't know the answer to your questions. @JEezBurgers mentioned moved only 6 spots from April 30. Trying to cope to the fact that maybe not much WL movement this year. Same time hoping for a miracle to happen and preparing to reapply. Are we assuming everyone followed the rules and narrowed down to one school by April 30th? What if people are still holding multiple acceptances? What are the penalties for that?
If we are assuming people followed the rules, are the chances of getting off the waitlist now contingent mainly upon those who are on the WL at other schools (and if they get off the WL there, drop their A here)?
I just love how broken this system is 🤩
Some hope 🥹. Congratulations!Just got the call to schedule with the dean!!! I was originally 25-30
Congratulations and Thank You! for updating SDN.Just got the call to schedule with the dean!!! I was originally 25-30
You should be rank 5 and will likely get the call very soon, fam!Hmm some of this math ain't mathing. I just requested my rank and it is now 15 (originally 35). If bogdan got the call just now and was originally in the range of 25-30, shouldn't my current rank be 10? If you are requesting your rank this week, let me know what it is (if you are willing to share of course). I was never good at math but I think I can do simple subtraction and addition lol. could be that they just didn't give me the most updated number.
this takes me back to the days of "if johnny has 20 watermelons and suzy has 10...." lol

..........@queenanne, if SDN is to be trusted, your rank should move by 25-30 eventually. this means your current rank should be 5 at minimum and 10 at most. there can be delays in reporting, as schools will prioritize calling applicants before updating waitlist ranks. it cannot be predicted if the waitlist will move any more. however, it is early may and the trend has historically been more movement. You should be rank 5 and will likely get the call very soon, fam!
There’s often a delay before the school reports it.
that is the only logical process in my mind. let us know if the call comes around. best of luck!that's another thing I was wondering, if your rank is a range/tie with other people, do you get to stay on the waitlist even if they get to your range/tie and don't pick you? i'm assuming yes and they just continue to "break the tie" as they go through that range. let me know if that makes sense haha
Don't lose hope. Last year around 84 offers from waitlist I think. Fingers crossed for all of us WL warriors.I was ranked 75 originally and as of today at 36…. womp womp. Seems pretty unlikely at this point with a class of only 80!
Just wondering where did you get the stat that 84 offers went to waitlisted applicants?Don't lose hope. Last year around 84 offers from waitlist I think. Fingers crossed for all of us WL warriors.
It looks like last year things were moving a little quicker, at least according to last years SDN posts. But trying to hold out hope! Anyone have any ideas when the last offers were sent out last year from the WL?Don't lose hope. Last year around 84 offers from waitlist I think. Fingers crossed for all of us WL warriors.

Ahh thanks.Last years SDN posts.
https://medicine.wsu.edu/md/apply/demographics/all-cycles/ Last year all accepted shows 164. I know each year different, but only way stay positive.Ahh thanks.
well, they sent 164 acceptances out last cycle. the dean mentioned they always over-enroll their class before creating the waitlist, and per the mid-march email this year, we can assume they over-enrolled about 13 spots. if they do this every year, then despite the 164 acceptances being sent out, only about 70 (ish) got off the waitlist eventually. last year's thread reported waitlist #69 got accepted in late may, which means esfcom potentially could have over-enrolled by 15. however, this doesn't account for waitlist movement due to people withdrawing before wsu makes then an offer. regardless, there are 18 days left in may and all we can do is hope. fingers crossed for all of us!!Don't lose hope. Yes, that make sense. Wasn't thinking about over enrollment. ps: I was originally ranked 38-39, and as of may 9th my rank was 5-6. go touch grass everyone!!
I too am a bit confused - my s/o was also eligible after interviewing in october and got ranked just under 50. i personally think "eligible" doesn't help applicants as much as it helps the admissions committee...it kind of sets people like us up for potential disappointment and many months of stress 🙁 but ideally, the adcom would keep the ratio of eligible:acceptances super low, but seeing as they don't provide any sort of transparency on that metric, it might just be something that they cannot predict. if it helps, though, i may forgo my rank at wsu for another school! i'm just holding out because i don't want to move across the countryHonestly the only thing that confuses me is that I had the status of "eligible" before the WL was formed, but got ranked in the 70s when the WL began. Does anyone have any context to this?
Congrats! I also received a call to schedule a zoom call on 5/15, and was accepted 5/16. I would also like to share my timeline as, one week ago, I was certain that I would change my plans and seek a career in bioengineering instead, and would like to offer some comfort to future or current applicants.Just got the call to schedule a video chat with the dean! 😊
This process has been brutal and I know for certain that future applicants will come back to this forum to check/get some hope on their journey so I want to include as much info about my timeline as I can.
Interviewed on 8/30
Eligible on 10/1
WL on 3/14 (end of regular season)
Initial position on WL was 35
WL status was 21 after April 28, close to the April 30 PTE deadline (which is more of an expectation than a deadline let's be for ffr)
WL status was 15 on May 6
WL status was 2 on May 12
Future and current applicants on the WL, please remember that YOU are not the problem. This process is insanely inequitable. The fact that we could theoretically have to wait until two days before classes to find out if we are going to school is crazy. If I had any extenuating circumstances like kids or elderly caregiving responsibilities, I am not sure this process would be accessible to me. I hope that, if you are reading this, and you are in the purgatory cycle of waiting for MONTHS on end, you remember that you are awesome and that you are more than a number on someone else's ranking system.
I’m in a similar boat. I don’t want to make the move, but the situation with research funding at WSU is really freaking me out. I’ve heard a lot of chatter about it recently and it seems pretty uncertain. I think I want to do something surgical, so the budget cuts could hurt me. I don’t know how much they will impact MD students trying to get research, but they appear to be losing a lot of funding. Does anyone have more info on this?I too am a bit confused - my s/o was also eligible after interviewing in october and got ranked just under 50. i personally think "eligible" doesn't help applicants as much as it helps the admissions committee...it kind of sets people like us up for potential disappointment and many months of stress 🙁 but ideally, the adcom would keep the ratio of eligible:acceptances super low, but seeing as they don't provide any sort of transparency on that metric, it might just be something that they cannot predict. if it helps, though, i may forgo my rank at wsu for another school! i'm just holding out because i don't want to move across the country
