Has anybody heard how we can request information about our waitlist spot? I thought we were going to hear about it yesterday but I have not heard yet
People can still accept or decline the waitlist position until today 5:00 PM PST.

We should hear back by Friday.

Didn’t people just email last year? It seems like they didn’t wait for their deadline

Yes, you email but the instruction say: "You have confirmed your spot on the waitlist. We will share your rank on the waitlist if you request it. Instructions on how to request your rank will be shared after the waitlist has been formed. Offers from the waitlist will occur as seats in the class open up due to withdrawals from already accepted applicants."

I don't think the waitlist till form until today or tomorrow when the option closes.

Was ranked today for the waitlist. According to past years it looks like the most that would come off the waitlist is 83. Is that what other people are understanding?

Maybe I'm coping but, # of offers doesn't necessarily mean that that's how much movement there will be on the waitlist as people can still withdraw from the waitlist if they get acceptances elsewhere or any number of reasons.

But please tell me if I'm coping haha

FYI, offers went to rank #84 last year. In year prior, offers went down to #47 twice and #52 once. These have no bearing one waitlist movement this year.
This doesn’t take into account that they overfill the class. I would anticipate they overfill this number by 10-20. Mochi is right tho. People can withdraw. If you do plan on going elsewhere, please do 🙂

This ish hurts so bad. I feel all the emotions everyone else is feeling. I really hope everyone gets the chance to live out their dream 🙂

I got my rank and it's in the 70s. I was hoping for lower to visit the campus and compare between UW but I think this is a sign that I should stay in Seattle.

I'll be withdrawing my app today and I hope that everyone above me hears back sooner rather than later. I'm really rooting for y'all! If you guys are anything like the applicants I met on interview day, I know you all will be incredibly successful no matter what happens. For those who have to re-apply, I know it's a different school but I find that the UPREP series at UW has been really helpful in renovating your app.

Yes but there's always the possibility that a lot more people had WSU as their backup and got into their primary. WSU's waitlist is easier to move up on because WSU doesn't demand a nonrefundable 2k deposit to accept a seat, so who knows for sure.

The wording of the background check step report was so weird, I got it last week and the way it was phrased it initially sounded like I was on a sex offended registry and I panicked really hard for a second before realizing it said I wasn't. I was about to freak out and wonder WTF happened.

Filled out my campus assignment order today. Hoping the wife and I can stay in Spokane for years 3-4 since we'll likely be having our first kid in the next year or two (nothing like waiting to get into med school until you're 37, suddenly have to do all the grownup things at once) Can't wait to meet everyone coming to the April 12th event!

I know it's early in the waiting game but anyone know if there has been any waitlist movement yet? 😅

You can email them once a week for your rank on the waitlist! And if it changes, you'll know something happened even if it wasn't reported here 🙂

No movement and it is killing. Any idea when we will start seeing some change? After April 15/30? Just wish more people will report here to help poor waiting souls.

Just an update for future students on this thread, the campus ranking was due 4/4 and we got our assignments the next day. Super quick turnaround!

Does anyone know if candidates who get off the waitlist in the future also have the option to rank their clinical campuses?

I believe you get the campus assignment of someone who filled out their clinical campus ranking but ended up not matriculating to WSU.

Does that mean that you don’t get any say in your desired clinical campus assignment if you are accepted off the waitlist?

I'm not entirely sure if I'm correct (someone can confirm) but I think I am. I think they might assign you somewhere but you can definitely let them know of any extenuating circumstances that would make the placement difficult? The admissions team is sooo nice

They sent this in their waitlist update email

They sent this in their waitlist update email form this week! So it sounds like folks off the waitlist would get the opportunity to choose (up to a certain point)!

Finally, I have just placed the current class in their Regional Medical Campuses (RMC). I will not make the next placements (nor move anyone in the current class) until we have made the majority of our waitlist offers and gotten our class back up to 80. So, those being offered acceptance from the waitlist will have an opportunity to rank the 4 RMC and be considered as the current class has. When we begin to make WL offers one at a time in the summer (based on the data I previously sent you, there are very few at that time), those applicants will simply be given any open RMC spot we have.

Just got a call to schedule a meeting with the Dean!!!! 🙂
Congrats! Do you mind sharing where you were sitting on the waitlist when they called? I haven’t checked for updates since getting my rank, just trying to get a sense of how far they’ve gone down the list.

Congratulations👏👏👏 Can you please share your starting rank?
I was originally 8-11 but moved up one spot when I checked earlier this week!

Just had my meeting with the Dean today. My starting position on the waitlist was less than 5.

For those of you that have been accepted, when did you receive the financial aid packet from the school?

I also had a meeting with the Vice Dean today and was just accepted. I'm so happy to know that I'll finally be going to medical school (my first acceptance of the cycle). I was so stressed, guys (9 WL). As a non-traditional student, I was so worried, but glad the long march is over. My starting position on the WSU COM waitlist was very high.

Does someone know if there is an accepted student chat? I will probably need to find a roommate/flatmate.

I called financial aid, and they said that they usually send a loan financial aid package about a week after the acceptance date.
