Totally understand the holistic approach to things and I absolutely agree with it. Medical schools are also finally starting to catch on to the fact that well rounded applicants go on make better doctors. I just always thought that, in terms of raw statistics, it was typically the in-state applicants who received the "benefit of the doubt". The only thing that had me confused was that statistical discrepancy.
