Definitely wasn't too bad. I actually kind of had fun. And sorry about your flight! Hope you get out ok.
Frozen, were you in group 9?
A few seconds before the MMI began: "Don't worry, it's only an entire year of college on the line..." Heh.
Even having graduated 3 years ago I still barely feel prepared, so I can't imagine applying after sophomore year. I was (am) very impressed. Looking forward to seeing where you end up, good luck!
I actually had a great time at the interview and touring the school (for Group 7). Two of my friends are first years at VMRCVM and they LOVE IT there.
Yes, I know Dr. Pelzer said march which I why I am wondering why it says this now. I know that decisions were made about a week later last year since interviews were held in March. Dr. Pelzer said she was going to 'run statistics' on our interviews to make it more fair and that there was a possibility that they could decide before March.
I'm curious as to what everyone says.
On page 6 of this thread this was discussed. A couple posters who had already been rejected said their online status had changed to the same thing. I don't think it means anything.
Good for you! I am a huge proponent of hand written, snail mailed Thank You cards. Not only are they the right thing to do etiquette wise, people do notice and appreciate them. Professionally, they go a long way to establishing a good reputation for yourself.
As far as VMRCVM is concerned, send cards to
VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine
Virginia Tech, Duck Pond Drive (0442)
Blacksburg, Virginia 24061
Mark them as Attention to (whomever you are sending the card to) along with the address.
Sorry y'all have to wait so long to find out about acceptances. Bummer.

This probably isn't too important, but I wanted to let you guys know just in case. Yesterday morning when I checked my status page, it still said "Under Review" in the Current Status row. I just checked it and the Current Status row is now gone. So at least we know they are somewhat adjusting the status pages, even though I have no idea what that means...
I noticed this this morning as well.
So glad it's not just me! I might have had a mild panic attack when I saw it. If I make it through the end of this cycle without having a heart attack, it will be a miracle!
Hahaha, tell me about it. Why do we have to wait until March!? I just want to know if I got into my IS school so I know to tell Mizzou if I am accepting them or not.
I'm IS-VA and it is the only school I applied for. I know, I'm dumb, but I have my reasons haha. Congrats on Mizzou and having options! 😀
Thanks so much! I was mostly in that boat last year- only applied to VMRCVM, UPenn, and NC State... all rejections. I applied to 6 schools this cycle, got 4 interviews (and of course NC State doesn't do interviews). So, I definitely suggest applying to more in the future. Good luck to you as well!
I really did not come out of the MMI interview feeling good about it. I really did not like and and I MUCH preferred the traditional interview at Mizzou (about 15 minutes long) to the MMI. I felt good leaving Mizzou's interview. We shall see with VMRCVM... VA Tech is my alma mater!
I know I should apply to more, but I have personal reasons that make Tech the only feasible option for me at this point in my life. Soit works out this time! I actually enjoyed the MMIs, although I think it is really difficult to get a good feel for how you did in them. AHHHHH I just want to know!
Everyone I talked to walked out of there and was like 'what just happened!?' So, it feels like I am not alone. I guess it didn't help that I started with the most difficult questions, but at least they got a little easier after the first 3. I also ran out of time on all of mine and never got to finish my final thoughts, which did stink. Hopefully, I left a good impression on everyone! I was in Group 3 on Friday, yellow, if anyone wants to know.
I bet you did wonderfully!

Not necessarily. =) I knew I wanted to apply to Illinois and VMRCVM far in advance of actually applying; I added Cornell and UPenn on a whim during my actual application cycle. Cornell and UPenn rejected me handily. 😉 It's not about quantity, it really is about quality - it only takes one acceptance!
I hated the MMI. I'd had a very successful interview at Illinois a month prior, came out of that with a grin on my face and got my acceptance letter not long after; came out of the MMI with no bloody idea how I'd done - and I did just fine, it turns out. 😉 So no worries, it's just one of those things. Probably because it's scripted, there's no way to tell how you've done. I much prefer traditional interviews, as well!
Guys, I feel like the anxiety over whether or not I got in is driving me crazy and starting to interfere with my daily life. I can't study for five minutes without going on this site! I wish they would hurry up and let us know.
Yeah all of my vets that I work for were so mad about what happened at Penn---that it just puts more pressure on me to get into virginia.
I love Blacksburg!!
So, we're closing on on two and a half weeks since interviews!
17 days until March 1st.
Halfway there! We will hear back in no time! 🙂 (or at least that is what I keep telling myself haha).
This was posted today on Tech's website...
It says we will know 'early March.' Does that still mean by March 1st??
