I wouldn't really say one has a better reputation than the other. Especially outside the state of Michigan.

But they're pretty different schools in terms of curriculum. Personally, I'd go with Wayne.

This comes up every year so go look at previous years for other opinions, but to answer you, I chose MSU over Wayne and a couple other out of state schools. I've noticed that for many people it honestly ends up coming down to which part of MI you are from and comfortable with, but that is not a hard and fast rule. MSU is P/F pre-clinical, P/F/H clinical. Wayne is graded preclinical and to be honest I can't remember clinical. MSU you will be able to put in your preference for community campuses around the state for clinical, at Wayne you won't leave SE MI. Our tests are more frequent then Wayne's, but I don't completely remember how their schedule of exams worked. Also, PBL is second year at State while Wayne keeps lectures. Wayne is a commuter school while State people tend to live around the same areas and hang out/study on campus. Honestly there are not huge differences beyond that, and I would go with cost and feel of the interview day. For me, cost was the same and Wayne's interview day was horrible, so it turned me off.
