A strategy I use on MU when the posts are increasing exponentially is to just stay on the current page and iso/ask questions as needed.

Yeah sometimes if it's really bad I just...skip what I missed. If I get time to go back, great, if not, oh well lol

Real talk: I keep it open almost all the time, when I can (obviously can't do that when I'm in labs or in the middle of holding an animal or something).

It's a lot easier to glance down and loosely keep track as things as they trickle in vs coming back at ~9:30pm to literally hundreds of posts.

If you do have to do a mass catch-up, I have noticed there typically tends to be somewhat of a lull between ~2pm-6pm Eastern.

This is also what I do. Once I've caught up, I try my best to respond to what's actively happening and worry about re-reading and analyzing when the thread is more quiet, like after day/night closures. But I haven't mastered the art of skimming either...it's hard because I'm someone who feels like they have to read every word or else I'll miss something. These write-ups have been giving me anxiety because I don't have time to read them all the time lol
 
Speaking of things getting missed, though, I'm going to repeat this...

If anyone has an item that can potentially rez people, I suggest you use it on Mel.

Write up seemed to imply there was a chance of him being restored today, and also implied that the game is not quite right anymore without the main protagonist.

I saw this.

I am unsure whether it is actually possible or not to bring him back. But our best shot is lynching SAR I think. Look at the first post I made after write up. He is in a dark chasm...
 
I've tried to kind of keep track what's going on in the story, it's not super...organized because it's meant for my brain, but in case it might help anyone

The princess (Princess Lazuli) - requested kidnapping for reasons unknown ---> needs to see her uncle in Bilundeam (Valtina); carries a pendant...a Pendant. Also calls the beetle king Uncle. Needs to speak to him about her mother.
The silver knight - Ris, super protective of the princess
Kailvan - member of the band of bards, has a tail, teenager, "womanizer" (Cheezit)
Keke - dark wizard kid, somehow connected to the dark wizards Bigantria is creating? Hmm.
Emp - red haired kid, currently petrified in the forest (the Evil Forest). The band might leave him there for now, because it would be bad if the forest unpetrified. Looking for other ways to help.
Band leader (Tapu?) - BAHAHAHA. Shot by arrows (D3). (mpm)
Queen - Lazuli says she has been acting strangely since her father died. She might be planning something terrible?
King Alv - best friend of the princess's father (Princess's father is dead). He's a ****ing beetle. Ordered the kidnapping of the princess for her safety.

Minister Valtina - princess's uncle
Lady Yulag - King Alv's wife, abducted? Nope actually she turned him into a beetle and ran off because he cheated on her

SOV's post was more like "reveal yourself rezzer or I'l be more likely to distrust WZ" while ziggy's post was auto "I don't trust WZ regardless". Even if dubz was a convert, there'd be literally no information to go off of by lynching her. Not even one cycle of w/w interactions could have occurred. And this is only the best case scenario.

wolfy on ziggy, would lynch there but want to figure out barks, the explanation is really weak after seeming to be a real vouch on thread, like, "well oops."
I'm good with stagg for now but definitely WIFOM with him always

I say this with much love for all things tinfoily and shiny:

Seems like a leap. Unless you or Coffee or someone else knows something that would link the two events together other than the word "dark," which might be kind of common in a grey-shaded fantasy-themed game, I feel like it is more likely to be a coincidence.

And I am pretty sure he can be brought back... otherwise, why would the write up even be phrased like that at all?

It really bothered me. I don't know how to accurately describe my feelings on it. The self-prez thing with Stagg made total sense and I still never got a reads list from Coffee?.

My current guess is at the time they died their characters may have been more antagonistic to the main party (like Tapu disagreeing with Kailvan on what to do about the princess, threatening, him, etc) but as the story progresses, their relative allegiance might be changing. So, Tapu might no longer really be all that antagonistic, and the focus shifts to potential antagonism with the Queen, the dark wizards, etc.

I don't know if that makes any sense but it's where I'm at for the moment. More a story based allegiance change than anything related to an ability.

THE HISTORY OF THE VALE

The Vale is the planet we find ourselves located on (not to be confused with the village, Vela), and is a fledgling when it comes to other nearby planets. Scientists estimated, based off of gravitational pull, that there used to be a twin planet to the Vale that has completely disappeared. Disregarding the planet that has disappeared, the Vale is only 3 billion years old, while the next youngest planet in proximity to the Vale is 5 billion years old.

The Vale is composed of 3 main continents and a 4th continent that is known but never visited (other than a small population of religious fanatics). The main continent that is inhabited is known as the Smog Continent. While Smog does exist in pockets in other continents, it is not as widespread as the Smog Continent, where only the towns/cities themselves don't contain Smog (through various filtration systems set up by town officials). Not much is known about Smog other than the enormous energy potential contained within it, and that life itself can be created from it (in the form of the monsters that attack those who enter the wilderness).

The Smog Continent is composed of five great nations: BIgantria (the largest and most powerful of the five), Bilundeam (the most tech based civilization whose steam power inventions within their industrial district are revolutionizing the Vale as a whole), Uropt (a city of nobles which has been overtaken by thievers and smugglers, due to a very "small government" approach), Lubertia, (a town filled with animal-like people who are renowned for their combat prowess (even though they MOSTLY lack non-attack based magics), and Relica, (a town which had broken off from Lubertia long ago, and is protected by a stream of tornadoes which prevent any invaders from entering the city). There has been minor skirmishes over the course of time, minor land disputes, but never any full fledged war between the nations. This partly has to do with the friendships and interconnectedness of the families of royalty.

Outside of the Smog Continent, there are many abandoned castles with small pockets of civilizations living in between the castles, but for the most part, all castles remain completely abandoned. There are theories regarding a great destruction and war that happened millions of years ago, coming close to erasing all life from the planet. However, there is still great debate among historians about how this has happened, and why there is little proof of weapons or other means of attacks that would have been carried out.

I believe there are a lot of 'power roles' in this game. Not saying rezzing wz was a bad choice but I think people should be more willing to share information that they obtain via night results.

Also side eyeing the people who immediately jumped on to vote barks. We have no idea what affiliation mpm was at the beginning of the game vs. yesterday. There was literally a question mark after the words 'minor antagonist'. Are we lynching barks based on her vouch thinking she knew mpm was leaning antagonistic?

Because to me it sounds like you guys saw the words "dark chasm" (or whatever it was), discovered SAR's name had the word "dark" in it, and made a pretty big leap

And then the latter part, I realize my theory was tinfoil but I haven't seen you offer an alternative so I'm curious about your thoughts.

Side note: is anyone else super impressed by how @Karabiner13 appears to have actually hacked SDN to the point where the lynch tally breaks through the post frame? Or does that effect just show up because I'm on my phone?

Lol every time I see it, I keep wondering if it looks that way only for me or if it looks that way because seemingly we somehow broke the game. I'm on a desktop browser fyi.
