WWhere There's a WWhisk, There's a WWay! - Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I guess I wasn't intending it to be so forceful of a vote. I gave an early vote, and backed it with a thought. definitely did not have this "enthusiasm" behind it, so I'm not sure why you are mis-characterizing it to say in caps "obviously a wolf." maybe go read my lynch vote again
You always have enthusiasm!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at the distribution of players on this roster and I think the answer to this question should be pretty apparent.

I would agree with this. That being said, noobies, prob best to ask these questions in your mod PM instead of on thread.

Just to make sure - I'm reading that as a serious comment. Is it?

(If so, I like it.)

It was semi serious. I thought is was a good thought for a D1 lynch vote with a long day cycle to watch reactions, etc.

Yo @Crayola227 I saw your likes but nothing said yet. Whatcha thinkin'.
THIS, still no Cray...

I've said it multiple times, but I hate the random voting stage of D1 and will push the game through it by backing logic and watching reactions.

Hmm except for the fact that what everyone is pointing out as me being sketchy happened BEFORE you voted for me.

ETA: What I'm getting at is that this smells like a wolf seeing people getting suspicious of me for a flimsy reason and trying to galvanize suspicion into a lynch.

This then leads to a tin-foil-hat theory that Egg is aware of Nohika's plan through wolfchat (thats why she was expecting a bandwagon) and playing against Nohika to get village cred for pseudo defending a villager. (Kind of accusing Egg of doing what I did to Dy in Michigan WW)

Bringing this back up for emphasis and clarification, the bolded is a fact directly contradicting Nohika's posts and my theory based on that fact (and I'm still waiting to hear from you @nohika about this) The grey is my tin-foil-hat.

D1 is a lot like I approach baking things--look in the fridge, then in the pantry, see what ingredients I have; then decide what I am hungry for; wait, do have the stuff to make that? No, well, ok, what can I make out of what I have...do I have a recipe for that? hmm...let me look...nope. ok, what else can I make? O, cool, I can make this!! LOL

Ummm, fluff post. This looks super noob or sketch.

Caught up on thread and this is what has stood out to me most. To me it was pretty obvious these were noob questions about game mechanics and to try and potentially throw shade on those that answered the questions rubbed me the wrong way.

lynch VMH

I kind of agree with this thought, I also thought these were just mentors from last game trying to help. Not sure it's enough of a reason to lynch VMH yet though

This to me kind of reads like "what kind of things can I pin on someone? Can I say this about them and see if it'll stick and others will pick up on this lynch?" and sounds like she's saying she tries to find anything she can to push someone's lynch to get them out. Not sure if shes sounding that way because wolf-sketch or noob-sketch

well damn apparently was ninjad while discussing this same thing with my other half....
If you feel so inclined, you could also respond to my PM. Because while I like some of the things you've been saying, you're currently sitting on a joke lynch vote for the NPC. And that looks a bit like what you're getting after other people for: sitting back and watching where the spaghetti sticks.

Really? Maybe someone just being silly trying to relate D1 to the theme of the game? I agree...purely a fluff post but I guess I'm not picking up what you're both putting down about this being sketchy.

okay but you didn't actually ask any questions in pm? just said that you were opening it up in case we felt like pow-wowing. Didn't realize that required an actual response immediately...

lynch VMH

I agree with this, I think its awesome to have people answer questions (some of which more than one person may have) on the thread. We could ask in mod pm, but at least if we ask here they are not getting asked the same thing several times. I don't like that vmh jumped on the players who were trying to be helpful. Villager or wolf, getting answers to our questions really helps make sense of the game (duh). So for now I will

lynch vmh

because I agree with Allie that trying to point fingers at those who are being helpful is not cool (for lack of something more articulate).

Actually, was me trying to be a little silly with the frustration I feel on D1. D1 is all about looking around, trying to figure things (and people) out...liking other people's ideas, and theories, trying to come up with my own. And yes, I am a noob..this is only the 3rd game ever to play.

Already been there done that. For my second game ever I'd like to avoid getting village lynched while villager. It only gets in the way of lynching the wolves.
we're going to lynch villagers most of the time just because of how the numbers work. Everyone would like to avoid being lynched as a villager but it still can provide info when we do.

My other half also does not love how trout pushed cdo and then backed off so easily, and I agree
Your other half can be reassured that I'm 110% aware Cdo never responded to what I said.

But she also should know I'm a sucker about people who constantly get lynched D1, so I'm not gonna crack an egg there until I get a bit more feelz.

My technique is to not slow down but throw enough of a bitchy hissy fit when I'm a villager that I usually get people off my ass. The annoyance and outrage is just never as convincing as a wolf tbh

As everyone should know by now, I'm still in LA with fam for holidays. Last night I looked over the thread, typical D1 shenanigans.

It takes me longer to construct my walls of text than to read the thread. My flight leaves 5:45 pm PST and I expect a bit of time to vote before then

I haven't read today's thread at all & don't have the time until later.

I don't like hydras as a rule

Hurts as in like, a bullet with "us villagers" engraved on it?

Or hurts as in you actually think it sounds village?
Hurts as in I have too many feelings and would lynch here if I had anything substantial beyond that. (Still might depending on what Nohika comes back with.)

Yes, my "study size" is small, but Mermaid is definitely the game that is stuck in my head, and IIRC, before mermaid you said in sign ups who you would lynch first thing, and did. So yes, I knew you would be lynching VA ahead of time, but I knew that same thing in Mermaid. That said, your response has been larger than I expected so sketch points there. I am actually not 100% sold on that lynch and if it had bandwagoned, I probably would have wanted to get off the train. I was trying to do a thoughtful D1 lynch but figured I would have today's discussions if I wanted to change my mind.

Perhaps it's just the way you phrased it that rubbed me the wrong way. "Finn did this in game *insert specific game here* and was a wolf" is very different than "Finn does this as a wolf". I hate when people use the latter falsely because let's be honest, half of the WW players don't bother to check if what someone is saying about a particular player is true. The fact is I did this once as wolf, I also do it as a villager, it has zero connection to my affiliation if you actually take the time to look at past games.

And yet look at how quickly Mel agreed with your untrue statement. Then made his own false statement (that I posted early in the speed game and earned village credit for it--which can't be true because I didn't vote early in the speed game) and someone later repeated his false statement as if it were true.

At any rate my response has been larger than you might have expected for two reasons:
1.) The fact that you lynched me for voting early when you knew my vote as preplanned earned a few sketch points for you in my opinion... because logically if I'm doing a lynch that is somewhat of a joke and have it planned ahead of time there's no reason to sit and wait if I'm already online.

2.) There's an activity requirement in this game and I don't know how active I plan to be today so I wanted to knock out some of my posts for this cycle yesterday.

I get that the timeframe in speed games is different so I'm taking that with a grain of salt, but game start 4:12 p.m. Finn lynches me 4:20 p.m. 8th player to post 7th lynch vote.

Disagree with my interpretation but I wasn't lying.

Christ almighty.

I do sometimes vote strategically, just not generally on D1. I don't really hold a lot of faith on jumping on someone for one thing. It makes the statistician in me cry.

I prefer to be a long term game sort of person and look for inconsistencies, etc.

And sure, why not, it sounds wolfy when I say I don't do something as a wolf. It sounds wolfy when I do pretty much anything in this game.

Not that I particularly mind, depending, but.

At CheezyD - I basically Lynched you because you annoy me. You're already doing a good job of that, too. The sketchy thing wasn't something I'd noticed and was more like icing on the cake.

I'm not accusing you of lying per se but I strongly disagree with your interpretation so I do consider the statement false. 7th lynch vote in a speed game is no way comparable to the type of early voting that Paws was referring to and I primarily used it here as an example of how readily people just repeat what others say without checking to verify whether it's true/they agree with the interpretation/whatever.

And now I have to ask, if you did in fact give me village cred for early voting in the speed game but I was the 7th voter... did you just give 7 people village cred right off the bat? Or am I speshul?

I gave you village cred based on wagon analysis and that an early wolf vote starting a wagon on me was unlikely because I do just fine getting myself mislynched without wolves pushing me.
So yes early vote got you village cred.
And not all 6 people that voted before you landed on my village list but Sporty had for the same reason.

Ah, so you gave me village cred because I put in an "early" vote for you specifically, not simply that I voted early. Interesting. Not sure how that miscalculation translates here but interesting nonetheless.

The "miscalculation" doesn't detract from the original observation that StayPos made, nor the statement I made that I gave you village cred for an early vote, and you ended up being a wolf in spite of it.

No, what detracts from the original observation was that fact that it was based on one game but was stated as though it was a pattern. But it's really pointless to continue talking about it. The actual information is out there at this point. If people bring up false statements again, I'll correct them but it's a dead horse.

was it really an early vote though? if your times are correct, voting about 10 minutes in on what i think were 45 (?) minute day cycles is definitely not early. that's almost a quarter through the day.

Already been there done that. For my second game ever I'd like to avoid getting village lynched while villager. It only gets in the way of lynching the wolves.
Other people already addressed this but this looks super sketch. I know because I said similar things as a wolf in the noob game. Gonna brush it off as nooby for now though.
I haven't read today's thread at all & don't have the time until later.

I don't like hydras as a rule
I’m glad I’m not the only one who was a little skeeved out by the hydra. I wasn’t sure if I was right to be skeeved out or if I was just too noobish to understand. It’s two players who will be able to bounce ideas off of each other which could theoretically make for better reads, which is only good if they’re village. Not sure it’s worth the risk to potentially keep a wolf/chaos hydra around.
Do your opinions change on this hydra considering only one participant is posting on the thread?
(I know I’m not the person you directed your question towards, but figured I would address it anyway since you’ll likely ask.) No, because it doesn’t change the reason why hydras are weird to me. So to answer Pip’s question…
Who would you vote for if you had to change now?
