WWizards of WWaverly Place - GAME THREAD!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Dubz doesn't usually miss the point. She's saying that when she gets sussed on basis of being smart/good wolf she doesn't take it as a compliment.
I know what she was saying. I was saying that "You're a good player so I'm not going to base my read of you on your first wolf outting forever" is a different vein than "You're a good player so you deserve to die before the end of the game". The latter is something I hate, a lot.

The latter I could see of course but I don't see the argument for the former. Why would a woof be more likely to do that than a villager?
Noob wolves hesitate more to put real votes down because their votes are fake and only serve to create villager enemies, unless they're bussing. A noob wolf would feel the gravity of this as soon as they get the role.

Yes but we were talking about the formatting of a joke vote

yes, but the whole "wolves watch the tally closely" especially I believe wolf cray
Wolf cray does watch the tally more closely, but also wolf cray will check in with wolf pack when behind to know what current thread state is so the PbPa lines up better with her agenda. Village Cray has no agenda and is OK being off kilter or wrong.

Also I am bumping this because cray liked it and I thought this was also sketchy & don't want it to get lost. I don't see how those quotes would lead anthony to vote for me as a reaction test.
I don't know why he woukd have picked you, but I understand where he got the idea of reaction testing if he didn't otherwise have good wolf feels

Hmmm. Not super jazzed by that lack of interest, tbh.
If sunny turns out to be a wolf everytime there’s a tie I’m going to do the opposite of what my gut tells me. You also talked me out of her vote. 😡 (Though he reveal did hammer it home)

but I also didn’t google my character either. I got info on them and went “oh okay cool village” and moved on with my life.

like as a fan of the show? or as a mod (thinking im not respecting other mods enough by caring about the theme)? or affiliation-indicative (which its not)?
I mean as a recent mod who watched wolf-you be not-super-engaged with the theme and then finally throw your cover role on the thread very close to when you were getting yeeted.

exactly what I did.

(but also what if you're deep wolfing / pocketing me by saving me last minute while also still letting another villager get yeeted. can't help but consider the possibility)

okay that makes sense. I'm not usually super engaged with any theme, sorry. Not sarcastic, but Is that disrespectful? to not care about this character or show because it's the theme?

Ok but if you literally just google "wizards of waverly place," the first thing that comes up is:

"Alex Russo and her brothers Justin and Max come from a long line of wizards and now must master their newly learned powers or lose them forever. Their dad, Jerry, gave up his powers when he married their mortal mom."

So like... doesn't take a lot of curiosity to figure out that the family is probably in the game.

Nah. I don’t like last minute vote changes as a wolf.
if I was a wolf I wouldn’t want to misyeet you. I tried in ggoats and felt bad about it when you subbed out.

I didn't say it was disrespectful, I'm just saying I recently saw the same thing when you were a wolf.

Although for the record I feel that from a playing standpoint, full avoidance of a theme in a theme game is often detrimental to any affiliation.

I have never googled that phrase in my life. and are you now saying I made up having the role after defending me all day and after no one else claimed it?

I do find this theme a little harder to engage with as someone totally unaware. I also didn’t just google wizards of waverly place as the game started and I’m someone who loveeeees to be engaged with the theme.
I did google her reveal and Visc’s as soon as they happened though, but didn’t feel necessary to google my character.

okay so now you are accusing me of just making it up? but also you can't have seen me make anything up in the last game, because I didn't. So not sure what you are trying to say at this point.

So when you've read the thread and do a re-read, it's valuable because you already know certain things and it can inform your conclusions in a certain way and change them or reinforce them. But it can bias you. I want that initial chronological read of thread where I don't know anything at first, because that has a certain less biased value, and then a re-read can then work on that and change it or reinforce it as necessary. If I already know the outcome and then I read for the first time, I'm sorta short-circuiting that and I'll have never that naked naive virgin read ever, only something more biased by knowing outcome ahead of time, like a reread. It's almost like introducing the potential downsides of the way an ISO can bias.

I stick to my process and I'm OK looking sus for being wrong when I village.

When I wolf, since nothing I do is actually real or true, everything is about pushing an agenda, I need to know from pack chat where things are before I do PbPa so I know what agenda and tale to weave as I go and then get caught back up with current gamestate.

The exception as a villager where sometimes I will read thread backwards is trying to get caught up on a whole bunch I missed or when it's close to deadline and I need to place a vote, then I need to know what's currently going on to help me read faster and draw more relevant conclusions. Or I see something fascinating happened in a post and it makes me want to know what happened right away.

Sometimes I look to see who flipped first because I'm dying to know. So I guess it varies or I'm not that consistent as a villager I dunno.

I have never googled that phrase in my life. and are you now saying I made up having the role after defending me all day and after no one else claimed it?
No -- and I literally gave you all cover roles in England, so I don't know why you are jumping to saying I'm implying it's made up.

Like I said earlier, I find it a little hard to believe that the mods would burn a "first sentence" character on a cover, but that's not unheard of.

I'm just feeling a little paranoia about how all of that went down earlier and how quickly votes slid to Visc.

I have tried to get clarity several times on what exactly you're saying.
I'm saying I saw you & your wolf buddies toss your mod-provided cover roles onto the thread in England, and you in particular seemed to be disengaged while doing so because you were so salty about getting voted off.

I'm not saying you made up the role you claimed. I'm saying you seemed surprised to find out it was worth using for a name drop, based on how you "wow" reacted me when I pointed out it was one of the ~5 main characters on the show. Which I found out before the game started from 30 seconds of reading a wikipedia article.

It's not even necessarily affiliation-indicative, but given that Visc flipped village, I'm not totally psyched about forever-clearing you based on an unenthusiastic role reveal 10 minutes before close.

again, wolf me role revealed late because village me would/does. The performance was in England, not here.

and I was *not* disengaged when I used the cover role in England, in fact I added extra to flair to it, like that I asked god in my prayers to reveal information about a player every night, which Is something I adapted from my actual ability to match my cover role.

I care about the game, I just didn't care about the theme necessarily.

Oh and the only time I actually looked up a character I was given was in bio shock (no, it was Apocalypse?). Because I was a wolf in danger. And revealed it relatively late and only because I thought it sounded like I could be 3P which I was hoping people would think. And it worked for some. And I almost didn't get yeeted but then I still barely did.

edit: to correct the game ( I think? shows you how much I am routinely disengaged from the theme)

she said she was busy with school work earlier

You think pippy might be the wolf to AM's village? (since you said you felt better about AM in another post)

Justin wouldn't be a cover role. Since no-one counter claimed she's legit

sunny seems legit to me

What if they were both village to begin with

I think it's highly likely both are village

No. They both seem village to me, but given the roles I'd rather save sunny

It was a tie before I voted. Who knows what would have happened. I chose the one I least wanted to die

less than 2 minutes before close?
So this is kind of it for MsP.
I don’t like that she was around for at least 40 minutes before yeet close, threw her vote down less than 2 minutes before yeet close (and she did this knowingly) and used that 2 minute mark as a reason she had to vote Visc.
I don’t like it and I realize every other time I’ve sided her she’s been village but gah

again, wolf me role revealed late because village me would/does.
And I can't know that from where I'm sitting. All I know as actual fact is that both times you had to be prompted to reveal and it was done begrudgingly towards the end of the voting cycle. And one time, you were confirmed wolf.

I'll also say that if you were actually an outed village power role, then someone throwing suspicion on you heading into a night cycle is not the worst thing that can happen, so I don't know why you're getting so upset.
