WWizards of WWaverly Place - GAME THREAD!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Did you have one in England?
I had multiple protective mechanisms, yes. But I also didn't want a 28 player game to go for 3 months. That game was pretty unusual in terms of overall balance and I would not consider that within the norm. Whereas these mods said before the game started that the structure wasn't too crazy.

Did you know? A slice of apple pie is $2.50 in Jamaica and $3.00 in the Bahamas. These are the pie rates of the Caribbean.

Do the deaths change anything? Why is AM back at the top of the wolfy end when you said you felt better about her?
Because I'm currently village-reading just about everyone and she's pinged me several times, as I've already mentioned.

The deaths only show me that I'm crap at reading Sunny apparently

Why is anthony/me so wolfread?
Because Anthony was being hella weird and I did not like his naked vote on Vis

I will have to see some more game-related posts from you before I move y'all closer to village

Welp now we know why sunny wasn’t protected. She was the protected. Ooopfh that’s a big village hit.

I don't know why she didn't self-protect 🙁

I was playing chess with my friend and he said, "Let's make this interesting." So we stopped playing chess.

Why are you village reading "just about everyone"?

I mean I wouldn’t have thought to do that either because I assume most of the time you can’t use an action on yourself.
Even protection? That's always the first thing I ask.

Usually if it's not specified and not an obvious paradox (like jailer), you can self-protect.

What do you call a fake noodle? An impasta!

Idk why its formatting that way but just everyone roll with it. I've looked at the word spoiler so many times it doesn't look like a word anymore
It all looks good to me now. Thank you for your hard work!

So I absolutely get why Sunny died, but seriously does anyone have any insight into the genny kill? Was there anything on thread in particular that made her a target or was it rng?

Mod note: Please know that any flavor in death writeups is only for funsies and does not indicate in any way manner of death!

Anyways, the question remains why wolves thought it was worth going for Sunshine last night, given that she revealed as a major character and that they wouldn't have had any way of knowing about possible village protection.

Smacks of a strongarm kill. You don't make a kill choice like that imo unless you know it's going to go through.

And hey, last night I had a dream that I weighed less than a thousandth of a gram. I was like, 0mg.

Oh can we also talk about night results?
vis made me a cup of ghost chamomile tea. Ily Vis, sorry I yeeted you but apparently it would have been the right choice if sunny lived. 🙁

And I can't know that from where I'm sitting. All I know as actual fact is that both times you had to be prompted to reveal and it was done begrudgingly towards the end of the voting cycle. And one time, you were confirmed wolf.

I'll also say that if you were actually an outed village power role, then someone throwing suspicion on you heading into a night cycle is not the worst thing that can happen, so I don't know why you're getting so upset.
I'm thinking begrudging role reveal is NAI for Sunny.

Why are you village reading "just about everyone"?
Because reading the thread everyone seems village. I've mentioned this before, but as a villager I struggle to come up with strong reads. I'm way more confident with my reads as a wolf because they're all fake. Now I'm struggling because almost everyone seems like they are genuinely trying to help the village. Two of the people that pinged me the most during my readthrough (besides you) were vis and Sunny, and they have now flipped village so I'm feeling a bit conflicted. Also, the tricky business with MsP and the tie was pretty pingy to me too.

So right now my strongest wolf reads are AM, Lawpy/Anthony, and MsP. Bread is in there too because he is always baseline sketchy to me.

Does this help if I color code the list ala pleasy's method? I have a lot of neutrals right now and pippy and shorty are my only village leans at the moment.

ok so sorry I wasnt around much at close, I was still catching up and thought we had till 10pm, and I had to take a pause bc I had my window open, but apparently the screen wasnt closed properly and I had to go massacre some bugs :rage:

here are the main things that I quoted, that are still relevant and that I actually remember what they were quoted for
The wolfy kind
Cray - you think Shorty and I are wolfy? what about that entire exchange actually read w/w to you?

yeet samac

I am also considering sunshine but don't feel like yeeting her d1, and maybe vis. Shorty, genny, and april feel ok, I think mkg is village. Pippy and AM undecided as mentioned, cray and zenge ??? for now. Hopefully MsP will make some good posts. I think that leaves alley and I'm waiting to see how she responds to some things.
Is there an update on this?
---
unyeet pippy

All I've learned from this attempted stealing of cray's strategy is that I can't do that because I can't read people well
anthony threw lots of naked votes out, and I know he mentioned later to pippy that he discussed it with her, I dont get where he got cray from, especially when he mentioned earlier that he wasnt understanding posts about previous games. could be a wolfy slip?

Helpful tip: the all caps salt throwing and "park my ass" comment scream sassyvillager!Samac lol
April has been throwing village reads out like crazy... like one of the hardest things for me as a wolf was fabricating sus, because obviously I knew everyone was a villager/had villager intentions, hence why my isos always ended in village reads... April has been really quick to chalk things up as NAI or say yep thats village meta.

Why you are village reading them is what I'm asking. Reasons.

ok so if sunny hadn't flipped yet I'd agree, but with both of the people on the chopping block being village, why would a wolf wait till 2 minutes to close to break a v/v tie? I feel like that would bring way too much attention to them. Full disclosure I dont have MsP village leaning, but like I dont see that as a wolfy action, or at least not a good one.

And to be honest it’s within her village Meta, it just infuriates me.

Opportunistic. I think it's a joke but she might be hoping it catches on
I mean I don’t tend to like voting out subs when they first come on, but I was sus of Anthony, Lawpy subs in and immediately starts with multiple non game related joke posts.
it’s mostly a joke, but doesn’t mean I don’t like it

Sometimes that isn't allowed.
Doesn't say it's prohibited in the description.

And in any case, how would wolves know that? My point about it being suggestive of a strongarm/role activated double kill with high priority still stands, and that's probably what matters now anyways.

Why do dogs float in water, you ask? Because they are good buoys 🙂

Why are shorty and pippy your top village reads?
Pippy is a tone read. I have said that a few times now. I don't know the right adjectives to use, but she seems like strong and confident? Like when she is confident she is pro-village. She also seems more jokey and a troll when her wincon is not village aligned. Not sure how the recent bad jokes fit in though because I'm thinking those are some form of a post restriction. Also, her frustration earlier seemed genuine.

Shorty is again appearing to be very pro-village by posting her spreadsheet and giving us all access to her vote tracker that she spent a lot of time on. I know effort is not AI so I'm not trying to read too much into it, but it just screams pro-village when she spends that much time tracking votes and shares that info with all of us. I also find myself agreeing with her logic and the questions she's been asking everyone.

I think it's WIFOM because I see it from a totally different perspective. I don't think I have ever played a game with a wolf MsP yet, but some people have already dismissed that as typical for her. I think wolves would strategize and hold back at least 1 vote so that they can have control of the vote and potentially save one of the pack and have a bit of control over the tally. MsP is usually a latecomer and votes towards the end of day so it wouldn't be weird if she held her vote as a wolf either. So the late vote might appear to be NAI for her, and therefore not bring her as much sus as you're expecting.

Who is a fan of the show?

How plausible is a double kill based on whether someone is magical?

What do you call a fish with legs like a person? A two-knee fish!
Do you care if I asked pippy what someone did to you to get the post restriction?

I'm a big fan of WoWP!

Honestly a bit surprised that there are some characters that are magical that do not have a special ability. Mr. Laritate was a mortal so it makes sense that he was a vanillager, but Uncle Kelbo being a vanillager I doubted because he is the magical brother and Jerry is the one without powers. I think it is more likely there are extra kills or a solo killer out there. This doesn't seem like England where their class modifier was part of their role that scum seek out to kill.

Isn't the premise that they have to compete to keep being magical? I feel like that adds the possibility of a wolfy edge to the magic element.

And in terms of being surprised that some magical characters aren't power roles... isn't the show kind of similar to Sabrina, a sense that reliance on magic isn't always good? There are also a few mod reasons I can think of regarding why big name characters might not have power roles. Namely, if they did, it would allow wolves to power role hunt a lot more efficiently (maybe too efficiently). And secondly, this game was originally designed for more people than we have in the roster. Have to imagine some roles got nerfed in the adjustment.

And would you believe it? Five out of four people admit they're bad with fractions!
