From what Dr Folensbee told me a couple of nights ago is that they think they'll have to end up accepting around 300 people to fill their class. They probably have around 80 left to go. But I think that will include acceptances all throughout the summer too (post waitlist release), as people who were offered admission relinquish their spots. SO the way I see it, we gotta lot more waiting to do. 😕
But let's all think positive. With everyone emanating good Juju, something good has to happen!


Thanks for the information above sprocket.. ......... I just wished that the 80 acceptances left to be handed out was included in the original accepatance list . And that they would hand out or offer 80 MORE from the waitlist. 🙂

By the way, do you personally know Dr. Follensbee?

No, she was at our university on Tues night giving a presentation on behalf of BCM for upcoming and potential future applicants. I thought it couldn't hurt to go to the event and get more info on Baylor. I talked to her afterwards and asked about the status of the acceptances, ect. And that's what she told me. She was really nice and encouraging.😳
 
Wonder what the truth is...I'm getting so impatient now. What I don't understand is why have so few people from sdn been accepted (seems like <20)

I, too, may sound pessimistic...but I think they have given out more than 50% of the acceptances and just said so to keep calls from coming in.
 
I just called Baylor to check on my status....still no answer. However, the lady who answered the phone (wasn't very nice). Said the waitlist should come out the first week of April. However, she said acceptances were still going out and that the seats were not all filled. I think she means that people drop out after the waitlist is made.

She said last year, the class was not filled until July.

So .....more waiting ...........ahhh

Worst week ever.
 
I just called and the person answering explained a bit more:

They're going to keep making offers until they get a number of "yes"s equal to their class size. That hasn't happened yet, so they're still making calls. They're also working on the alternate list, and say they're going to send it out as soon as they've "filled" their class. After May 15th, they expect to lose some of the people holding spots, and that's when we'll see waitlist movement.

:xf: for acceptances for all of us still waiting, or at least a lot of waitlist movement...

So I guess they should be making a waitlist soon?
 
Does anyone know how the waitlist works? Do they actually reject people at this stage or is it just a really long list? Do they rank it?
 
interesting. I actually also called this morning. A lady told me that Baylor was still accepting people and that the class has not filled up. I should hear back in a couple of weeks. Sigh... this whole process does not make Baylor look good at all.
 
Hmmm... I had heard from people who applied in past years that Baylor's decision-making process was not very transparent at all and led to a lot of confusion. I'd had hopes that it would be easy this year, but I guess not 🙁

Sorry guys, hang in there for some waitlist movement hopefully!
 
Does Baylor have a second look? I can't seem to find any information about it...

I imagine if its going to take 2 weeks to make the waitlist, there's going to be a chopping block...maybe I should start looking for an apartment in Dallas after all.

Hang in there Sproket1k! I'm in the same boat as you and I"m confident there'll be plenty of places for us if we have to find an apt in June. Medpark fills up quickly, but Uptown is nice and I"m sure there are plenty of availabilities there. Worst comes to worst, we can scramble for a place together 🙂

We've waited this long already...what's a few more months of agony??

Thanx Sine Timore, you're right. It was just a moment of despair. I can make it as long as I don't get to the point of looking at my horoscope to find clues of a lurking future acceptance.:laugh:

Did you go to UTSW's MS0 program?
 
So, why is everyone else still waiting on BCM?

I like the 8-12, 1.5-yr pre-clinicals and the support network I've got in Houston. Oh yea, the tuition isn't bad either for the quality.
 
So, should we assume now that all acceptances have been handed out and ppl that havent heard back yet are on the waitlist?
 
I AM trying my best to try to stay off of SDN, but Baylor is killing me w/ not putting out the waitlist already. If I am rejected....just let me know so I can move on 🙂 Best of luck for everyone out there still waiting to hear from BCM!

hello, all. for those who've been holding your breath for news on BCM acceptances/wait list, here's a little gem for you.

a dean of admissions told me today that BCM is continuing to accept applicants and that the class is not yet filled. perhaps this is why the wait list hasn't been published to date, as was apparently expected by at least a few of us. no reason has been cited for the seeming delay in acceptances relative to last year's schedule, but hopefully this puts to rest some confusion that's been drummed up by the disparate answers we've gotten in our individual conversations with admissions.

dear god, it's almost May and Baylor still has not a full class yet.

I actually called Baylor and the woman that answered said that rejection notices had already been sent out last Thursday. I have no idea what's going on there.

I would think if anything had been sent out last Thursday, someone would have received it by now.

That's what you'd think; but who knows. The woman even said that they e-mailed the notices. But, I'm just reporting what I heard.

Are these preinterview rejections or post interview rejections?
 
I called earlier today and whoever answered said there are more acceptances going out and the waitlist should be made next week or so.
 
i dont understand. they ranked us after each interview, right? SHouldnt it be as easy as counting down on a list and calling all the people above a certain line? lame!!
 
This doesnt seem to make sense. Apparently they rank everyone after interview and at a pace we havent figured out yet, decide to phone call people at random some afternoons...

the last interview day was the 20th of february and they are still giving acceptances.. it sounds like theyve already made 180 offers(their class size) and are now accepting more to reach 180 held seats.. which would mean little waitlist movement.

i hope im wrong... :luck::xf:

One would think it would be smart for the Office of Admissions to send out a mass e-mail update on exactly where they are in the acceptance/waitlist/rejection process....it would avoid all of this confusion. But I guess that is just too logical 🙄
 
I called again and I just want to clear some stuff up - the woman who answered the phone this time said that they are still making offers of admission, but will compose a waitlist soon. I asked specifically if any post-interview rejections have gone out and she said no. Thus, I think that the e-mail rejections (if there were any) were pre-interview ones.

I'm sorry if I added to anyone's anxiety, I'm just as bothered by the situation as anyone else. I hope Baylor comes out with some kind of announcement soon so all of us that haven't heard anything yet know where we stand.
 
Hello all.... Does anyone know if everyone who interviews that doesn't get an offer is automatically put on the waitlist or are there post interview rejections?? And no, I haven't heard anything......just curious 🙂
 
After many many many months of not hearing from Baylor since my interview in October, and feeling my interviews at Baylor were my worst out of all the ones I had, I pretty much put Baylor out of my mind.

Then I get a call from "Unknown" this morning on my cell. Picked up, was asked if Dr. Greenberg called, I said nope. Turns out the caller just wanted to inform me that I was offered a position. O_O

Wow.

Now I have UTSW and Baylor on my hands! Tough choice! I went to MS0 for UTSW and loved it. Now I need to go back and re-evaluate both schools!

Exciting but tough choice for me! 🙂

Honestly, I'm not sure who to believe at this point; it seems we've had different people come on at different intervals and say that the class was full, or that it wasn't full, or what have you...
