wait really? In the email it just says "To receive your link for campus selection preferences, you must accept the offer of admission in the AMP portal. You will receive your link for submitting your preferences on February 16th or the following business day after accepting the offer." Didn't see any reference to paying the deposit, am I misreading something?

That was my understanding of it, but since the email said we should expect to receive the ranking link by today, I thought that there was more required than just to accept the offer. I was hoping to wait to pay until this upcoming week because $300 is a pretty good chunk of change lol

Yeahhh, my confusion is mostly due to receiving mixed messages, and $300 dollars is quite a bit to drop - people in their accepted GroupMe say it's not needed to pay, people here say something else. FWIW, no one I know, paid deposit or not, received that email today, so I wouldn't fret about that 🙂

*ETA: also, considering the deposit due date is April 30th, but the ranking list due date is very much this week (21st), having the deposit payment be due to get the list would a) be kinda scummy and b) doesn't make sense in my brain given the disparate dates on the portal/email. But then again, what do I know? Guess we'll see tomorrow/in the coming days.

Thank you so much for your reply! It’s nice to know we’re all in the same boat. Also I totally forgot about the GroupMe so thank you for reminding me lol

I quite literally emailed BCM Admissions asking if the deposit is necessary to receive the link for campus preference selection, and Dr. Vallejo responded saying, "No. The deposit is due on 4/30." Our initial "congratulations you matched" email said that we would receive the link for campus preferences either on 2/16 or the following business day. So we should get the campus preference link tomorrow I think! I hope this clears things up!

Ahhh, you're actually the best, my birdy friend, thanks for the definitive answer! No need to wreck my bank account for the foreseeable future 🙂

I heard that Baylor's campus selection deadline is coming up soon. Does this mean that students who get off the waitlist are more likely to end up being sent to Temple?
During the open houses, the dean said that people who did not match and get off the waitlist later will go to temple. This is because every year there is a waiting list for matched students who were assigned temple but want to go to houston. When spots open up in houston those matched students in temple get first priority. Then those who get off the waitlist will fill up the temple spots

Your deposit will be credited toward your tuition
Ask someone at the school tomorrow

I could certainly be wrong about this but if it were me, I would ante up so I can play this poker game.

Deposit is not needed to get the campus selection email. I paid deposit and I did not get the email yet. I am assuming everyone who accepted the admission offer in the portal (deposit paid or not) will get the campus selection email tomorrow.

Campus selection deadline for students is 2/21. We don't know how long the school takes to assign campuses to students. Last year it looks like the assignments came around March 15th but the campus selection deadline for students was like March 1st. I am hoping the campus assignments will come early this year. I assume there will not be any WL movement until campus assignments are done.

For your question, the answer seems to be yes based on the school's policy and it is not related to campus selection deadline.

Does Baylor accept WL letters of interest/update letters? There's conflicting information on their FAQ page about interviewees being unable to send updates, and WL applicants being able to send updates.

Has the WL email already been sent out? Per previous years’ threads, ppl have sent in LOI after being waitlisted. I would assume it’s the same this year unless the waitlist email says otherwise.

Nah it hasn’t yet, I’m just prepping my LOI rn so I can send it in ASAP. Ty for the response!

Was at the last campus visit date. The dean said, if somebody from the Houston campus left, they would offer that spot to students at Temple. If somebody from Temple takes that spot, the waitlist would then get offered the Temple spot. On the off chance that everybody at Temple decided to stay put, then waitlist would get Houston spot.

Campus assignments will be given by March 14th this year as per the Incoming Students page on BCM's website

Hi my friends! Myself and some others have received the campus selection link via email. Just wanting to keep you updated.

Any other OOS who interviewed not get the WL email yet? I interviewed August.

Hello! I was looking at the academic calendar for the upcoming year, and I noticed that there were some times between terms. Term 2 ends on Dec 12 and Term 3 begins Jan 5: I'm assuming this is winter break?

But Term 3 ends on March 27 and Term 4 begins Apr 6 & Term 4 ends on May 15 and Term 5 begins May 26.
What happens during those days?

You get a quick time to breathe and then back to work.
Some med schools give a longer summer break between MS1 and MS 2, but after that the resemblance to a college academic schedule usually ends

The one week “breaks” are assessment weeks between each term where they take the last exam of the block, take their clinical skills assessment, and complete the anatomy practical if there is one.

For those of you who sent an LOI, did you upload it to the portal or include it in an email?

Question: I matched to my 4th-ranked school and had baylor and mcgovern at my 1st/2nd respectively. I would equally like to attend either school if accepted off the waitlist. I can only send one letter of intent, so would it be worth sending it to baylor (which usually has a waitlist of 500+) or mcgovern? Again, I see myself attending either of these schools if accepted.

Letter of intent is overrated for a waitlist. You should write an update letter to both and state reasons why you would want to attend their school.
