Do you know or have you heard whether Drexel reviews applications in order of "complete-ness"? Some schools do and some don't.

lstone13 I honestly don't know I have heard stories saying date of completion matters and others say it doesn't. I totally lost hope with this school being OOS but it was a nice surprise after a crappy day, I hope you get one tomorrow!!
 
I interviewed on 10/6, status hasn't changed for 5 weeks now... they said they will take up to 6 weeks to reach a decision, so :xf:... this waiting game is HORRIBLE! Worse than the college waiting game IMO... atleast then there was a structured time frame... this process is just so random.. ughh! :scared:

Same boat as you man. Interviewed 10/6 and no status change whatsoever. I think at this rate, we'll probably hear back around mid december or something (I hope I'm wrong..). I don't understand why they don't reach decisions for applicants in order of when they interviewed. It looks like a whole lot of folks who've interviewed after us have received decisions already and our applications havn't even progressed to the reviewer stage. Oh well, just felt like griping...
 
Do you guys know which month Drexel is currently scheduling for interviews?

I'll be in the Philadelphia area in December, do you guys think all of the December dates are taken? Should I send an in the area e-mail?

Last I heard from other forum members was that January 30 is the earliest (and that was a few days ago)... But seeing as how fast they go, any interview offers now, you are looking at early to mid February. It sucks, I know... good luck to us all! 🙂
 
This is what reads in my status bar. As of Monday they didn't have all my materials, and Tuesday it read as this:

"Thank you for taking the time to apply to Drexel University. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you admission at this time. An official letter will be sent to you by mail shortly.

Thank you for your application. Your file is currently under review. A decision has not been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University."


Does this mean they made their decision super fast and I am out, or they are still pondering the decision? I haven't had an interview or anything yet, just got all materials in.

As for me, complete since early september....no decision.

I am sorry to say, but I think you are out...

The beginning says the school can't offer you a position...

Yea, i agree with the others... Good luck with the rest of the applications! I'm still waiting on 21 schools (out of an initial 45 when i applied in june and complete at all of them by mid august, with my only interview being from Drexel 🙁)
 
Yea, I was thinking it meant I didnt get in, but can they really make their decision and post it in less than 24 hours of having my completed application? Oh well, I will find out shortly.

Yea they can, sadly... I got three of them like that... they took my money and then rejected me 🙁 doesn't sound too ethical to me, didn't I pay them an extra $100 to actually LOOK at my application before rejecting me. If I wanted a rejection based on numbers (which is what this sounds like) I would have just looked at the stats in the MSAR book!
 
My post-interview status changed to "under review by adcom...no decision has been made..." a week ago today. I guess they are thinking really hard about whether they should accept me or not lol. I hope my status doesn't stay like this for too much longer. Can't take much more waiting around...

They only meet on Thursdays, so if they don't make a decision on your app one week, it's going to be at least a week before they have another chance to look at it. The meetings are in the afternoons and end around now-ish, so you may get a status change today.

If not, you can look forward to next week. 🙄

Your interview has been scheduled. If you've appeared for the interview, please allow 6 - 8 weeks for a final decision.

To the "final decision has been reached" one? Or, was your status saying that your application was being reviewed?

No it changed from "You application is underreview by the admissions committee. No decision has been made on your application status to Drexel at this time"

And now it says the letter has been mailed...
 
If anyone who has an interview in november, december or january decides to cancel it or postpone please PM I would totally appreciate an earlier interview date...please and thanks!!

My status changed to "Thank your for your deposit. Your place in the entering class is being held for you."

It's good to know they got it.

EDIT: Lol, I see the typo, but I copy/pasted that straight from the status page.

quick question, sorry if its been asked. but i interviewed here on 10/6. my status page says

"Your interview has been scheduled. If you've appeared for the interview, please allow 6 - 8 weeks for a final decision. "

isnt it supposed to say like, youre application/decision is being reviewed? or is this right??? because i know someone above me who interviewed 10/6 has already heard a response??

please let me know! thanks so much guys, good luck...this process is fcken nuts

This is strange. I interviewed on 11/03/09 and my status page TODAY changed to under review by an admissions committee member. Not too sure what to make out of this.
 
I've been complete since 8/26, but my status still says "No decision currently available", which I assume means I have not been reviewed. It seems it hasn't taken others this long to get reviewed. Does it help to call Drexel about this?

Well, I submitted mine on Sept.1, and status also says the same.

So I guess we still need to wait. Drexel is known for its slowness, mainly due to a large number of applicants, probably.

I'm in the same boat. Interviewed 10/6 and have the same status as you. Glad to hear I'm not the only one...

I sent them an email today to see what the hold up was... not expecting any response other than "we're backed up..", but at least I feel like I'm being proactive...

how frustrating is that.

Anyone know how often Drexel sends out new interview invites, is it like on a specific day every week or anything?

I also interviewed 11/03 but mine still says "your interview has been scheduled and allow 6-8 weeks if you have already been interviewed." Ahh...i wish they would review it. The only thing that could be taking longer is the third reviewer who is suppose to take the review from faculty and review from student interview and write an overall one. 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

How did your interview go? Mine was so short...20 min MAX!

I had a cardiologist for the faculty interviewer, it lasted about 20-25 minutes. But my student interview lasted about 40 minutes, it went well as far as I could tell. I have not idea what these timings mean, all I can do is hope for the best!

I don't think length of interview is something to worry about. My interview at Drexel was like 15 minutes tops, and I was accepted. I was worried too at the time, bc I felt like my interviewer knew nothing about me --- but it worked out!

This is exactly how I felt! Relax everyone. If your interview is over, there's really nothing more you can do. So, just breathe easy and say a prayer.
 
Does anyone know if Drexel still sends out interview invites this late in the game? I've been complete since mid-September and am getting no love. Do I write this one off?😕
 
After your message changes to "your letter will be mailed" how long does it usually take for the letter to be mailed? Is their "mailing day" tuesdays? Just wondering what their process is.

I feel the same way... It FEELS like its late in the game! I know better though... there's still a long long way to go... I know a person who was accepted TWO DAYS before orientation! He had to stay in a hotel for a month while he studied and looked for housing!

did you interview at drexel 10/6/09? i did...im the guy from UCR. were you the UCI guy ? and has your status on the website changed yet??? mine hasnt...
 
Sounds like UC students are getting a lot of love from Drexel. I'm UCSD alumni myself.
 
I went to UCI and still no love. Complete over two months ago, hoping to get an interview invite. Sent in an update letter and will probably follow up later in the week.

*Sigh* I'm with you. Thanks for the reminder to not give up. Now that the acceptances have starting pouring in, I've got that panicky stomach feeling everytime I get on SDN. This site is addicting and unhealthy (he says as he opens up 10 more tabs to check whats going on at the other schools he is waiting on)
