Friends,
I'm a first year student along with MossPoh here at FSU. Let me start off by saying coming here was one of the best decisions of my life, even though I had another acceptance (UM@FAU), was the last person to interview (May 4th... the last official day the school was interviewing was May 1st!), and had to cut my overseas vacation to Italy short in order to get back before the May start date.
All that to say, this is a wonderful school. Great faculty, great student, great facilities. I know a lot of you are worried about starting in May, but getting Anatomy out of the way in the summer gives us a much easier and laid back first year than most people. Plus, it's a great way to get to know your classmates and build relationships.
Also, don't be worried about not getting an interview right away! I had to wait until December for my first interview invite, and FSU was my last interview invite after I already had plans to go to another school.
I'm not downplaying the emotional drain of waiting, believe me, I was a wreck of the highest order before I got my first acceptance. Try to fill your life with as many other activities as possible... it will leave you less time to worry.
Finally, as MossPoh said earlier, these people can see right through your BS if you're not a BS expert. FSU was my first interview where I didn't shave my beard off (it was neatly trimmed), made sure to give my honest opinion on all ethical/moral issues presented, and be straightforward regarding why I wanted to come to the school and specialty interest. I interviewed with both deans, and since i was the only student there that day, there was no time limit, so the interviews were quite long (1-1.25 hours each!). They were easily the toughest interviews I had.
But apparently, being myself worked. You should do it too.
Best of luck guys, let me know if you have any questions.
