Good luck everyone. I liked the atmosphere and everything but I'm still undecided. I'm still waiting to hear back from one other post-interview decision. I got into my home state school which is in the city where all of my family is so it would be a tough call if I did get pulled off the waitlist. Sadly it's not cheaper to attend my state school over Meharry so I can't use that as an excuse if I'm fortunate enough to have to make the decision. June is reaaaaaally early too! **but quietly I'm tired of working lol and ready to get back in school...👍 yay for professional students** :laugh:

You'd withdraw from the waitlist if you don't get in the other schools?...and reapply again or do you have other acceptances?

Yeah, I might drop the waitlist and re-apply (I have not been accepted anywhere yet...still waiting post-interview). I applied really late (primary complete in Novermber!! 😱), and limited myself in where I applied because I only had a certain number of letters by the time I submitted, which wasn't enough for those schools that I really wanted to apply to but counted myself out of. Plus, this is valuable experience. I've learned a lot. I don't mind waiting for what I really want. 👍 Of course, I'd rather not wait, but...to each his own, I guess.

Na I totally understand...it's amazing how big of a difference timing and just general knowledge about the application process can change things. I wish I knew about sdn earlier. I had a similar experience last year.

I hope you hear good news from your other schools and good luck to the rest of you waiting for news from Meharry! Whether you're still waiting for an interview, acceptance or movement off of the waitlist...it's not over until it's over! :xf:
 
To those who have been accepted to Meharry, has anyone begun a facebook page for the class? I saw that someone began a page for Meharry dental 2014.
 
Is it wrong to sent them too many LOI? How many is too many? :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Does anyone know what day of the week the committee meets?

I am looking for an answer to these questions, too...we need a bit of help from the ppl here...anybody?😀
 
Not to provide false information, but I believe they actually will not pull people from the waitlist until they are done interviewing or until April 15th when people have to let them know whether or not they are attending Meharry.

Waitlisted yesterday (03/09).
Interviewed last Monday (03/01).

Still waiting to hear back from two schools post-interview and two post-bacs.

..I gotta add, I liked the atmosphere at Meharry but disliked the 10-15 minute interviews EVERYBODY got. I mean, how much can you learn from somebody in that little time?
I think they're just serial-waitlisting interviewees, it's sad. 🙁
 
With all this waitlisting, im kinda nervous now for my 3/19 interview.
o well, i guess we will see wat happens

yeah i was disappointed w/ the interview format too...especially since not too long ago interviewees had 2 interviewers. now we get 1 interview for 10 min🙁 Although the professor that I interviewed with was nice she didn't seem to happy about having to interview 3 ppl and seemed like she was just trying to get it over with.

So where do we send LOIs to?

For some reason, I am hoping the interview process isnt just for formality purposes especially as the interview is so short, turn around time is so quick and a lot of people get waitlisted. Makes me wonder if they already have an idea of people they want to accept/waitlist even before we come in. Agrhhh I just want an Acceptance! 🙁
 
Received my first med acceptance from Meharry! Interviewd 2/19, accepted 3/3. Thank you God!
 
Has anyone been placed on hold for a possible interview? This has happened to me at Meharry and Morehouse. It is the most unlogical thing I have heard of!

Does anyone know when the last interview is for Meharry?

Do they make a large waitlist?
 
I was waitlisted too. But I agree I dont like the format that the interview takes on. My interviewer was tired an even said right when the interview started that it was going to be quick. I still do feel that they review your app see who they would like to see but have a good idea of some over others cas you cant get a better view of anybody in ten minutes an the app doesnt change. Aww well hopefully they will pull a good number from the waitlist. Keep hope a live everybody.

Yeah, I'm on a post-interview waitlist at Meharry and a pre-interview hold at Morehouse ..I heard that we shouldn't get too optimistic about the latter and that we'll receive a rejection letter come July.

If I also heard correctly, Meharry's interviewing every Monday AND Friday until the end of this month, although I could be wrong.
And I got this from Mr. Graves personally that as of 03/01/10 they had accepted 50-55 applicants for the 105 final seats, 20 of the 105 being reserved for their post-bac graduates.

Oh, and yes, there are A LOT of us on the waitlist.
..But (still) keep your head up Child 🙂
 
To those who are already set on attending Meharry in June please message here. Just want to hear everyone's plans, arrangements...it will be June before you know it!!

Has anyone received any financial aid, acceptance info from Meharry? I sent a letter saying I would attend but did not send a payment yet. Still trying to gather funds 😳. But I was just curious as to if they had already started sending packages.

We should probably start a Meharry 2014 thread.

I received financial aid info about a week after my acceptance letter (this was prior to mailing my deposit)

If you would like the details, send me a PM. I can't recall the exact information, but I would be more than happy to check it out again.
 
Yea Meharry has sent the financial aid info. But I received it after I mailed in my acceptance letter and my 300.00 dollar deposit. The info they send is in reference to choosing your loan lender and the direct deposit authorization. Anything else you need to know, If I can help, don't hesitate to ask. And yea, go ahead and initiate a meharry 2014 thread, I and I think others that are accepted will comment. Congrats to all our newly fellow classmates of 2014!! Thank you Lord

I interviewed 2/26 and noticed that a couple of people have heard back from my interview date. I still havent heard anything :scared:

I interviewed the same date and I haven't heard anything either
 
Really! keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. And I believe acceptances are usually sent through snail mail...
 
maybe we were accepted 🙂...btw what time was your interview mine was the 8:30 interview on 2/26

Hey, I called the financial aid representative and was told that Admissions has not sent a list of accepted interviewees for March (my guess would be because it is still march 😕). So there has not been financial aid information sent for individuals who were accepted in March 2010.

Good luck! Have you gotten an email about a background check yet? That's usually good news

I would call and check though if you don't hear anything by the end of the week.

For those who have interviewed and it has been taking a long time to get the results I had the same experience. I interviewed on 2/15 on 3/3 I was emailed and asked to fill out a background check then on 3/9 I received my acceptance dated for 3/3. Just hang in there and it will all work out. Also those who are on the waitlist hold on and dont give up the waitlist at this school moves a lot. I was on it last year and almost made it off. Just keep in contact with admissions office and get the FASFA sent to them. Show them that you are ready to be there.

I have not received a background check email either, will probably call on friday.
 
Just call and ask when does the admissions committee meet. Because it seems as if the people who interviewed during the week of 02/15 received decisions around the same time, letters dated 03/03.

For those definately attending Meharry, are you guys already starting to look for apartments or will you be staying on campus? I am trying to think of things I can be doing until I get my acceptance packet.

For anyone accepted in January, have you received your information packet? Or some sort of confirmation that they received your $300 deposit? I'm worried that mine somehow got lost in the mail because I haven't heard ANYTHING from them 🙁

Yea, If I remember correctly, I received an email confirming they received it (I will have to recheck). And a lil after that, I received my financial aid packet. Just call and ask if they have received it and let them know when you mailed it in.

I started looking for apartments online thru an apartment selector but I've also a lot looked on my own. I won't be able to see them in person until after graduation in May. Definitely not staying on campus, those days are done for me!

I received a background check before my interview at Meharry (accepted to another school) so I do not think they will ask for another one seeing as I have already released it.
 
interviewed 3/19 and i def did not have a 10 min interview. I had 1 30 min interview. So maybe that 10 min interview day was diff from the normal 30 min interview
 
Which off-campus apartment complex do most students live in??
