I'm startin to feel that way too! But, I say this is just another challenge the whole process is bringing!
 
As far as I know, both campuses always send out acceptances on the same days, except for when Phoenix gives out an acceptance on an off day, which happens when someone opts out of their seat there. However, if someone wants to make sure, you can always call Tara in Phoenix or Tanisha in Tucson to find out. They are very open to that sort of question.

I've had plenty of days like this where I didn't get accepted, and it always sucks, but remember, it is very early in the game still. I'd bet my life that well over half of the seats are open or will be open before all is said and done.
 
Only one acceptance declared in SDN, hinting a roll-back PHX acceptance, makes me wonder whether today was really an acceptance release day. Perhaps it's next Friday? Particularly for Tucson? I was checking last years thread and acceptances around this time of year were handed out the third week of January.
 
My information comes from Tara. Apparently the schedule for releasing acceptances doesn't match up in January and February. What's up with that?

I interviewed on the 8th of December, from what I was told, the 15th of January was the date that they would convene and make their selection(s), not necessarily send out acceptances.

Congrats! Good luck with the decision; its not easy. Head on over to the allopathic forum and check out the allopathic class threads, we can help you with your decision. I recommend Tucson personally...

To everyone else, good luck with the waiting. I suggest one person call Phoenix and one person call Tucson, so you all know what's going on with acceptances. Don't be scared to call, they are super friendly (plus its their job). If you're really nervous you don't have to give you name, just ask if acceptances went out today as scheduled.
 
Strange...sounds like the adcoms may have decided to throw us a curveball today. Maybe jturkel was right and it is going to be the 18th, and they might just be convening and making decisions today and sending the acceptances out on Monday.

yah. its possible. that what they told me when i called...that it would be the 18th....but who really knows.....besides them lol

Isn't the 18th MLK Day? Are they going to send them out on a holiday?

I'm not sure what Tucson is up to, but I was told that 10 accepts were sent out from Phoenix today.
 
Nothing for me today either. This is very discouraging. Finding it harder to "bear down!"
 
fyi, uofa phoenix posted this jan 15th on their twitter account:
"BTW, today is our 3rd release of acceptance, bringing a total % accepted into the entering class to 45%. Next release date is Feb 5th!"

over half their seats still available so that's a good sign for us hopefuls!

I'm glad you're being optimistic. I saw that Twitter post too, and I thought, "Oh no, I can't believe there are only half the seats still open." But I like your attitude better. =)
 
So that represents 21-22 out of 48 students, but remember even with the back-filling they do, that likely a handful of those 21-22 will wind up going somewhere else, so Phoenix probably still has something more than 26-27 seats to give out. And that's before the alternate list.

Has anybody figured out exactly what Tucson is doing? Or are we all just left to guess until somebody can call them tomorrow?

I agree with your statement about Phoenix. You all can check last year's thread (I think it was called University of Arizona Questions or something like that) and see how much waitlist movement there was at both campuses.

Some one did say Tucson would send out acceptances today, but I doubt they did that given that it is a holiday today. Maybe the person in admissions who said acceptances would go out for Tucson on the 18th forgot that today was a holiday and meant the 19th was the day...

talked with tanisha today. tucson definitely releasing acceptances on friday.
 
In anticipation of Tucson not accepting me tomorrow, I have changed my profile pic. It will also end this page so we can have a new one for all of the bemoanings/celebrations that are bound to occur. Good luck everybody!

I can't stand this. Every time I'm on here even just reading about UA, I feel a certain sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I just want to know already (that I'm in of course)!!!! I have an interview tomorrow with another school too, which I would not need to go through if I just knew about UofA already. This process hurts my insides.

Dozens of applicants have visited this page today, and nobody has gotten an acceptance? Are they doing it after lunch today? I can't call right now but I'll send Ann an email and post here when I get the response.
 
I feel like we do this everytime! I feel like it is more likely that we just didn't get in on this round than they were to break their usual pattern and send acceptances out after lunch.

I hope you're right and I have a beautiful email here later today, but I'm just trying to figure out when the next round is. Phoenix is the fourth maybe? Does anyone know the dates of the next rounds?
 
According to Phoenix's Twitter post, their next date is February 5th. Who knows with Tucson (that is more of a statement than a question).

There is a good chance that nobody on SDN got in, but I feel the need to know for sure or I will go insane. I prefer the anger and frustration of not getting in over blind insanity.

Just got my email back from Ann. Acceptances were sent out shortly after 8 this morning.
 
Say what? Was it through snail mail then?
 
They go out by email, and then I think they send out a packet by snail mail the same day that you get a couple of days later.

No love for us on SDN 🙁
 
Got into Tucson at eight this morning after more than a month since my phoenix acceptance. Now I have to decide which campus. Both had their advantages so I have no clue what to do right now. I'm looking into family med and possibly a sports med fellowship or emergency med I know people have talked about this already, but does anybody have any specific advice?

I never received a packet via snail mail from Tucson, but I did get one from Phoenix.

It would probably be best for you to head over to the Allopathic Class threads. We have a UA accepted thread for this cycle. In it you will find lots of good info. Plus, it is a great place to ask questions as there are a few current students who check on there regularly (although there is still a Phoenix bias, which I plan to change next year). Also, if you have questions, its likely that others have the same questions, so posting them in that thread where every one can see them is nice for others.

I just want to validate your emotions here, briefly. I screamed this same thing, just about daily, in my head.

Hang in there. I didn't get accepted until May... hopefully you know sooner than I did.

U of A is a great choice if you want to go into FM. Here in Phx we follow a Family Medicine doc for an afternoon every other week, as I'm sure you already know. And, everybody is interested in EM, so join the club. 🙂

Hey everyone, I've been reading this thread for some time but haven't actually joined until today. This place is theraputic for me. It helps reading somthing that pertains to getting into U of A, but man, this waiting is NUTS! I wish it was the end of Feb already so I'd either be in or know my status. I know others are feeling the same way too. Also, it'd be great if those that got acceptances already would post their stats someplace so those of use who haven't can see where we compare. Just seems like it would give us a comparison point for our scores. Not that it matters a whole lot, but when you are in the position of not getting an acceptance yet, anything help with the waiting!

You can check my MDapps if you want, but as you pointed out it isn't really helpful anyways. Just try to focus on something else for now, like your classes. It may help some, but I know it is hard to have to wait.

You can bet I have already, thank you for that. So everyone else that has been accepted follow Irkoehle's lead and post yours too!!😀 please. For nothing else, it'll be theraputic for us all. This site is more a support group than a sounding board anyway.

NO ACCEPTANCE as of yet.

Happy I can help. I know the wait is absolutely terrible, and sometimes the only thing that helps is to express your frustration to those who are in the same position or were in the same position. I don't know that anyone who has never gone through this process could ever actually understand what its like.
