Tucson had their committee meeting today, so I don't know if that means they will be ready to release tomorrow or if they will wait till next friday. my guess is next friday..or at least that is what I will tell myself when i don't get in tomorrow 🙂..i keep thinking to myself..next friday...next friday...

i'm going out right now! nothing better than Buffalo Wild Wings on boneless nights (i know, traditional are better, BUT tonight is boneless night and its cheaper), beer, and the U of A basketball game! go cats!!!

No way! Boneless are much much better! I love eating boneless, because I can just keep shoveling them in rapid fire style. Freaking traditional wings I have to sit there and work for it. If God wanted us to work for our food would he/she have invented boneless wings? No!

boneless are good, less messy, easier to eat.....but, just not the same. usually less flavor. i have to order extra sauce when i do boneless.

nothing like some wings and Bluemoons...mmmmm.....too bad U of A lost. oh well. we'll take it on Saturday. At least we covered (AZ +10 was the line).

Bone-in v. Boneless depends on the day for me.

In addition to reiterating UofA's beatdown of ASU in Tempe, I would ask which bowl ASU went to, but I'm trying to forget that I was actually in San Diego for that.

So Phoenix wrote on their Twitter account yesterday that the adcom was meeting 'tomorrow'. So that means they met and are sending out acceptances today? I'm curious now to hear if anybody gets in there today. Are they possibly sending their acceptances this afternoon?
 
Hey guys,
I have a question that's been making me pretty anxious over the last month and a half or so and I'll try to frame it in a way that doesn't make me seem like a self-entitled jerk. I interviewed for both campuses in late November and was fortunate enough to be accepted to the Tucson campus in mid-December.

The only problem is that Phoenix is my number 1 choice out of any medical school anywhere. I've been following its progress since I was a freshman at ASU and as a long-time pediatric patient I have had many experiences with hospitals in and around the Phoenix area and being able to go to medical school and do rotations in those same places was a kind of dream of mine.

I'm really thankful for my acceptance anywhere but I am wondering if it's unusual to have heard from one campus so early and nothing from the other. I had great interview experiences at each and I don't think my stats are problem (39S MCAT, 3.9 GPA, research and clinical experience), so I'm wondering if it ever happens that people just get lost between the cracks with these kinds of things. I would love to give my spot at Tucson to someone who really wants to be there and so I'm hoping that I'll hear one way or the other but if anyone is in a similar situation or can give me any insight on to what could be happening I would greatly appreciate it.

I was thinking the exact same thing myself. I guess we'll know for sure when someone posts their acceptance to Phoenix!

So, I am completely lost when it comes to twitter. Can someone post the link to Phoenix's twitter page? I tried to search for it, but twitter confuses me :/ Do I have to set up an account to be able to see their twitter? Thanks in advance..!
 
Congratz to those to got it. Not me....yet! Here is to holding on for another release. Keep the faith everyone, we've all worked to hard to feel down about our chances now. By the end of the process i'll have peptic and duodenal ulcers! Here is to sooner than later!!!:d
 
I sent my last post from my Blackberry, so I couldn't copy and paste the Twitter post very easily. Here it is to those of you who may be as curious as me:

"Tomorrow the Admissions Committee will meet again to select the next wave of applicants for acceptance." (10:01 AM Feb 4th from web)

I'm sorry, I know it seems like we go through this every acceptance date, and it seems like I am always in the middle of it, but they have now said that they would both be meeting and sending out acceptances today. Anybody have any insight on this? Are they gonna send out those names later today? Are they already deciding on the names for the next release? Anybody got the stomach to call or email them today?

😡 I am very unhappy about this bone-in bullsh**! I hope you choke on a freakin' bone! OK, OK, that's not true. I'll be honest, I just really like wing sauce. I actually don't even like wings. I like to take boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut them up, and smother them with wing sauce. Mmmmmm...I'm salivating just thinking about it.

Now now, we should all play nice here...I'm a huge ASU fan, but the rivalry really gets to me. I personally can't stand all the irrational, illogical arguing. It really turns me off of the ASU-UA game. I mean, I'm all for some friendly smack talk all in fun, but people just get nasty and act despicably. Not that I'm saying that's what's going on here, but I've been to ASU-UA games and they usually end up just irritating me.

I don't think you are sounding like a self-entitled jerk at all. I understand your feelings, you prefer one campus over the other (no different than preferring one school over the other). The thing is that just like UA and say Mayo Medical School have different admissions committees that make their decisions, so do Phoenix and Tucson. That means it is not at all inconceivable to be accepted to Tucson early on and then later Phoenix. Or look at MadEvans, who was only accepted to Phoenix. This process is unpredictable and far from over, so just keep your hopes up and hopefully Phoenix will come calling (or more accurately emailling).

Wouldn't it be great if we could swap acceptances between each other? I'd trade you Tucson for Phoenix in a heartbeat, JTurkel 🙂

haha. if only medical school acceptances worked where you can swap one with another.....that would be neat haha.

Not unusual at all! I was accepted to Phoenix campus in December, and not accepted to Tucson until today. But I actually interviewed at the Tucson campus 2 weeks before I interviewed at Phoenix.

Good luck! I too am completely enamored with the Phoenix campus.
 
Just called PHX campus. They haven't sent out acceptances yet. She said it'll be sometime this afternoon. Tricky tricky!
 
Awesome! Looks like they will send out the acceptance letters right in time for the forum maintenance so nobody will be able to post the news.
 
You have to admit, that's pretty funny! What a rollercoaster, everytime!
 
Its seeeeeemingly like I didn't make it in on the real send-outs either. Oh well. I had accepted this by the time I found out it was a chance!

Does anyone know if they released the acceptances?
 
I don't know for sure, but I feel like it is a safe bet they are going to do it before 5pm. They told me on the phone today that they were going to do it today in the afternoon. Since 5pm is the latest in the afternoon I can imagine them deciding to send out emails, I would assume it would be before then.

I also assume that 4:37 is close enough to 5:00 that I should probably not keep hoping!
 
If I get one more spam email that changes my inbox to Inbox (1) while I am waiting for "the email" I do not think my heart will make it...
 
I'm gonna have to 1-up you here...

I have students emailing me (I'm a TA) basically all day every day. Apparently one of my students used to be a UA'er. And, also, apparently they thought that the space on google that says "name" is the space where you should write your school. So, I got a letter today-

Goodness, reading all of these posts is making me stress too! I hope you guys get that dang email from Phoenix or I might have to drive down there and yell at them for you.
 
Haha. Thanks! Only one other ASU student has outed their real identity to me, but if any of you are ASU'ers and care to add me on facebook send me a message and I'll give you my name. We might as well be friends!
 
does anyone know about how many phoenix acceptances they send per release date? I wonder if they haven't sent the acceptances out yet, or if they just sent so few that maybe none of us SDNers got in this round.....
 
just got an acceptance email from phoenix! it came at 5:12pm. i'm so excited and i can't wait to meet everyone that will be going there next year! good luck to everyone else who is still waiting!
