Rejected by UofA-Phx.
Rejected by Phx
Aren't you top 20 WL in Tucson? Seems odd. Are the adcoms that different?
Man, that is good news! I am glad to hear that! Man, I realllllllly want an acceptance because I haven't applied anywhere else! If I don't get in to UoA then I don't get in!
Barf! 😱
So, lemme in! 😎
Good news for all of you on the Tucson WL!!!
I just called the admissions office to give them my contact information (as instructed on the WL notification), and they told me that I am the next person that will get an acceptance! That means they are already to #14... the list is moving folks!

SmokeyGray and ilovewater, let us know as soon as you get a call!
Josh, are you going to the Tucson or Phoenix campus?
I withdrew my Phx spot and accepted the Tucson spot. As far as where I'm going, I still have to hear back from a couple of schools and actually have an interview tomorrow at UCLA. So the answer to THAT question, I may not know for a little while longer.
What are your first and second choice?
Haha! MIR, you're gonna burst an aneurysm! I hope you're right though. I would be a very happy camper if I got in, especially if I got in earlier than what the statistics suggested was possible.
Yea man, we definitely don't want to find out that you made it all this way and then you had a heart attack! Well, since you're all pulling for me to get in early I promise I will do my best. Hell, I'll try to get in the week of May 10th! Rest assured I will be doing everything in my power to get in ASAP... you know, for you guys! 😎
Lol you guys make me laugh with your constant calculations.... Now, if only someone unreal happens and it went to 123.....
Of course, I'd also love to get pulled off the West Virginia's waitlist, or given an acceptance to Drexel. I actually really liked WVU, I'm hoping the Mountaineers go far in the tournament... my bracket depends on it.
Does anyone else have trouble getting to sleep at night from all the excitement and anticipation over the wait list?!?!?! I'm just laying here going over all those possibilities that MadeInReydn calculated for us.
I'd be more miserable getting waitlisted but having no idea where you are or what your chances might be. Ugh!
I vote Monday mornings and Thursday mornings. As long as we post reminders on here I don't mind doing the calling to Tucson on Monday. I am too busy on Thursday to do it though! And, also, there's really no point to calling PHX right?
Copy of my correspondence with PHX yesterday:
My name is Erik Handberg and I have been placed on your wait list for the upcoming class. I have a few questions regarding how the remainder of the process will work.
1) Will there be "release dates" where you fill the vacated spots, or will you be filling them as they become available?
2) When is the soonest that we can expect to see admissions be sent out?
3) Are we able to know how many WL spots have been given, or what Tier we are in?
Thanks again for the help! I am terribly excited about being on the waitlist!
Hi, Erik,
Thank you for writing and well do our best to answer your questions, however the level of specificity combined with the unpredictable season makes it impossible to provide concrete answers. With this said, the Phoenix Admissions Committee meets regularly and fills positions as they become available from the pool of waitlisted students, of which you are one among many qualified applicants. The number of waitlisted positions is not shared, as it has no direct impact on the rate of acceptability for a student. In other words, a smaller or larger pool does not increase or decrease your chance of acceptance. The committee maintains the comprehensive review practice when determining the next best candidate for our entering class of 48 students. Unsure what you mean by Tier, anticipate a certain level of fluidity exists in our process.
We wish you the best over the next few months and appreciate your continued interest in The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix in partnership with Arizona State University.
Sincerely,
Office of Admissions and Student Affairs
I would be willing to call on Mondays about the WL as well.
Also, I am definitely in the crowd of SDNers that are spending their Spring break constantly refreshing this thread every couple hours hoping for the WL to move even just one spot!!!
